Jeremiah 48:1-23 1 Concerning H413 Moab לְמוֹאָ֡ב le.mo.'Av H4124 . Thus כֹּֽה־ koh- H3541 saith Jehovah of hosts צְבָא֜וֹת tze.va.'ot H6635 , the God אֱלֹהֵ֣י 'e.lo.Hei H430 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל Yis.ra.'El H3478 : Woe ה֤וֹי Ho H1945 unto Nebo נְבוֹ֙ ne.Vo H5015 ! for it is spoiled; Kirjathaim is put to shame, it is taken H3920 ; Misgab is put to shame and dismayed H2865 . 2 Moab's praise תְּהִלַּ֣ת te.hi.Lat H8416 is no more ; in Heshbon בְּחֶשְׁבּ֗וֹן be.chesh.Bon H2809 they have devised evil H7451 against her : Come, and let us cut וְנַכְרִיתֶ֣נָּה ve.nakh.ri.Te.nah H3772 her off from [ being ] a nation מִגּ֑וֹי mi.Goy H1471 . Thou also גַּם־ gam- H1571 , O Madmen , shalt be cut H3772 down ; the sword חָֽרֶב׃ Cha.rev H2719 shall pursue thee. 3 A voice H6963 of crying from Horonaim מֵחֹֽרוֹנָ֑יִם me.cho.ro.Na.yim H2773 ; wasting and great גָּדֽוֹל׃ ga.Dol H1419 destruction וָשֶׁ֥בֶר va.She.ver H7667 ! 4 Moab מוֹאָ֑ב mo.'Av H4124 is destroyed; her little ones H6810 have caused a cry זְּעָקָ֖ה ze.'a.Kah H2201 to be heard H8085 . 5 For by the ascent מַעֲלֵ֣ה ma.'a.Leh H4608 of Luhith הַלּוּחִ֔ית ha.lu.chot H3872 continual weeping H1065 shall go H5927 up ; for in the descent בְּמוֹרַ֣ד be.mo.Rad H4174 of Horonaim חוֹרֹנַ֔יִם cho.ro.Na.yim H2773 is heard שָׁמֵֽעוּ׃ sha.Me.'u H8085 the anguish of the cry H6818 of destruction שֶׁ֖בֶר She.ver H7667 . 6 Flee נֻ֖סוּ Nu.su H5127 , save מַלְּט֣וּ ma.le.Tu H4422 your lives נַפְשְׁכֶ֑ם naf.she.Khem H5315 , and be וְתִֽהְיֶ֕ינָה ve.tih.Yei.nah H1961 like a shrub in the wilderness בַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ ba.mid.Bar H4057 . 7 For because thou hast confided in thy works H4639 and in thy treasures H214 , thou also גַּם־ gam- H1571 shalt be taken H3920 , and Chemosh כְמוֹשׁ֙ khe.mish H3645 shall go וְיָצָ֤א ve.ya.Tza' H3318 forth H3318 into captivity, his priests כֹּהֲנָ֥יו ko.ha.Nav H3548 and his princes H8269 together יַחְדָּֽיו׃ ya.chad H3162 . 8 And the waster shall come וְיָבֹ֨א ve.ya.Vo' H935 upon every city עִ֗יר 'Ir H5892 , that not a city וְעִיר֙ ve.'Ir H5892 shall escape תִמָּלֵ֔ט ti.ma.Let H4422 ; and the valley הָעֵ֖מֶק ha.'E.mek H6010 shall perish H6 , and the plateau shall be destroyed וְנִשְׁמַ֣ד ve.nish.Mad H8045 : as Jehovah hath said H559 . 9 Give תְּנוּ־ te.nu- H5414 wings unto Moab לְמוֹאָ֔ב le.mo.'Av H4124 , that she may flee and get away ; and the cities וְעָרֶ֙יהָ֙ ve.'a.Rei.ha H5892 thereof shall become תִֽהְיֶ֔ינָה tih.Yei.nah H1961 a desolation H8047 , without inhabitant יוֹשֵׁ֖ב yo.Shev H3427 . 10 Cursed H779 be he that doeth the work מְלֶ֥אכֶת me.Le.khet H4399 of Jehovah negligently, and cursed H779 be he that keepeth back his sword חַרְבּ֖וֹ char.Bo H2719 from blood מִדָּֽם׃ mi.Dam H1818 ! 11 Moab מוֹאָ֜ב mo.'Av H4124 hath been at ease שַׁאֲנַ֨ן sha.'a.Nan H7599 from his youth מִנְּעוּרָ֗יו mi.ne.'u.Rav H5271 , and hath settled on his lees; he hath not been emptied from vessel מִכְּלִי֙ mi.ke.Li H3627 to vessel כֶּ֔לִי Ke.li H3627 , neither hath he gone H1980 into captivity: therefore H3651 his taste טַעְמוֹ֙ ta'.Mo H2940 hath remained עָמַ֤ד 'a.Mad H5975 in him , and his scent is not changed . 12 Therefore לָכֵ֞ן la.Khen H3651 behold , days יָמִ֤ים ya.Mim H3117 come H935 , saith Jehovah , that I will send וְשִׁלַּחְתִּי־ ve.shi.lach.ti- H7971 unto him pourers that shall pour him off , and shall empty his vessels וְכֵלָ֣יו ve.khe.Lav H3627 , and break in pieces his flagons. 13 And Moab מוֹאָ֖ב mo.'Av H4124 shall be ashamed וּבֹ֥שׁ u.Vosh H954 of Chemosh מִכְּמ֑וֹשׁ mi.ke.Mo.osh H3645 , as the house בֵּ֣ית beit H1004 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל Yis.ra.'El H3478 was ashamed בֹּ֙שׁוּ֙ bo.shu H954 of Bethel , their confidence H4009 . 15 Moab מוֹאָב֙ mo.'Av H4124 is laid waste , and his cities וְעָרֶ֣יהָ ve.'a.Rei.ha H5892 are gone עָלָ֔ה 'a.Lah H5927 up [ in smoke], and his chosen young בַּֽחוּרָ֖יו ba.chu.Rav H970 men H970 are gone H5927 down יָרְד֣וּ ya.re.Du H3381 to the slaughter לַטָּ֑בַח la.Ta.vach H2874 , saith the King הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ ha.Me.lekh H4428 , whose name שְׁמֽוֹ׃ she.Mo H8034 is Jehovah of hosts צְבָא֖וֹת tze.va.'ot H6635 . 16 The calamity H343 of Moab מוֹאָ֖ב mo.'Av H4124 is near to come H935 , and his affliction hasteth fast. 17 All ye that are about him , bemoan him ; and all ye that know יֹדְעֵ֣י yo.de.'Ei H3045 his name שְׁמ֑וֹ she.Mo H8034 , say אִמְר֗וּ 'im.Ru H559 , How אֵיכָ֤ה 'ei.Khah H349 is the strong staff מַטֵּה־ ma.teh- H4294 broken H7665 , the beautiful rod H4294 ! 18 Come עָ֣לָה 'A.lah H5927 down from [thy] glory H3519 and sit H3427 in the drought, O inhabitress, daughter בַּת־ bat- H1323 of Dibon דִּיב֑וֹן di.Von H1769 ; the spoiler of Moab מוֹאָב֙ mo.'Av H4124 is come H5927 up against thee, thy strongholds מִבְצָרָֽיִךְ׃ miv.tza.Ra.yikh H4013 hath he destroyed H7843 . 19 Stand עִמְדִ֥י 'im.Di H5975 by the way H1870 , and watch וְצַפִּ֖י ve.tza.Pi H6822 , inhabitress of Aroer עֲרוֹעֵ֑ר a.ro.'Er H6177 ; ask שַׁאֲלִי־ sha.'a.li- H7592 him that fleeth, and her that escapeth; say אִמְרִ֖י 'im.Ri H559 , What is done ?
