Exodus 24:1-9
1Then the LORD saidH559 toH413 MosesH4872, “Come upH5927 toH413 the LORDH3068—youH859 and AaronH175, NadabH5070 and AbihuH30, and seventyH7657 of Israel’sH3478 eldersH2205—and you are to worshipH7812 at a distanceH7350. 2MosesH4872 aloneH905H413 shall approachH5066 the LORDH3068, but the othersH1992 must notH3808 come nearH5066. And the peopleH5971 may notH3808 go upH5927 with himH5973.”
3When MosesH4872 cameH935 and toldH5608 the peopleH5971 allH3605 the wordsH1697 andH3605 ordinancesH4941 of the LORDH3068, they allH3605 respondedH6030 with oneH259H559 voiceH6963: “AllH3605 the wordsH1697 thatH834 the LORDH3068 has spokenH1696, we will doH6213.”
4And MosesH4872 wrote downH3789 allH3605 the wordsH1697 of the LORDH3068.
Early the next morningH1242 he got upH7925 and builtH1129 an altarH4196 at the base ofH8478 the mountainH2022, along with twelveH8147H6240 pillarsH4676 for the twelveH8147H6240 tribesH7626 of IsraelH3478. 5Then he sent outH7971 some young menH5288 of IsraelH3478H1121, and they offeredH5927 burnt offeringsH5930 and sacrificedH2076 young bullsH6499 as peaceH8002 offeringsH2077 to the LORDH3068.
6MosesH4872 tookH3947 halfH2677 of the bloodH1818 and putH7760 it in bowlsH101, and the other halfH2677H1818 he splatteredH2236 onH5921 the altarH4196. 7Then he tookH3947 the BookH5612 of the CovenantH1285 and read itH7121H241 to the peopleH5971, who repliedH559, “AllH3605 thatH834 the LORDH3068 has spokenH1696 we will doH6213, and we will be obedientH8085.”
8So MosesH4872 tookH3947 the bloodH1818, splatteredH2236 it onH5921 the peopleH5971, and saidH559, “ThisH2009 is the bloodH1818 of the covenantH1285 thatH834 the LORDH3068 has madeH3772 with youH5973 in accordance withH5921 allH3605 theseH428 wordsH1697.”1
9Then MosesH4872 went upH5927 with AaronH175, NadabH5070 and AbihuH30, and seventyH7657 of the eldersH2205 of IsraelH3478,
