29Your bodiesפִגְרֵיכֶ֜םfig.rei.KhemH6297will fallיִפְּל֨וּyi.pe.LuH5307in thisהַ֠זֶּהHa.zehH2088wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֣רba.mid.BarH4057—allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605who were numberedפְּקֻדֵיכֶם֙pe.ku.dei.KhemH6485in the censusמִסְפַּרְכֶ֔םmis.par.KhemH4557,everyoneלְכָל־le.kholH3605twentyעֶשְׂרִ֥ים'es.RimH6242years of ageמִבֶּ֛ן שָׁנָ֖הmi.Ben sha.NahH1121 H8141or olderוָמָ֑עְלָהva.Ma.'e.lahH4605—becauseאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834you have grumbledהֲלִֽינֹתֶ֖םha.li.no.TemH3885against Meעָלָֽי׃'a.LaiH5921.

30Surely noneאִם־'im-H518of youאַתֶּם֙'a.TemH859will enterתָּבֹ֣אוּ אֶל־ta.Vo.'u 'el-H935 H413the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776in whichאֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834I sworeנָשָׂ֙אתִי֙na.Sa.tiH5375אֶת־'et-H853יָדִ֔יya.DiH3027to settle youלְשַׁכֵּ֥ןle.sha.KenH7931אֶתְכֶ֖ם'et.KhemH853,exceptכִּ֚י אִם־ki 'im-H3588 H518Calebכָּלֵ֣בka.LevH3612sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Jephunnehיְפֻנֶּ֔הye.fu.NehH3312and Joshuaוִיהוֹשֻׁ֖עַvi.ho.Shu.a'H3091sonבִּן־bin-H1121of Nunנֽוּן׃NunH5126.

31But I will bring your childrenוְטַ֨פְּכֶ֔םve.Ta.pe.KhemH2945,whomאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834you saidאֲמַרְתֶּ֖ם'a.mar.TemH559would becomeיִהְיֶ֑הyih.YehH1961plunderלָבַ֣זla.VazH957,intoוְהֵבֵיאתִ֣יve.he.vei.TiH935אֹתָ֔ם'o.TamH853the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776אֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834you have rejectedמְאַסְתֶּ֖םme.'as.TemH3988—and they will enjoy itוְיָֽדְעוּ֙ve.ya.de.'UH3045אֶת־'et-H853.

32As for youאַתֶּ֑ם'a.TemH859,however, your bodiesוּפִגְרֵיכֶ֖םu.fig.rei.KhemH6297will fallיִפְּל֖וּyi.pe.LuH5307in thisהַזֶּֽה׃ha.ZehH2088wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֥רba.mid.BarH4057.

33Your childrenוּ֠בְנֵיכֶםU.ve.nei.khemH1121will beיִהְי֨וּyih.YuH1961shepherdsרֹעִ֤יםro.'ImH7462in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּר֙ba.mid.BarH4057for fortyאַרְבָּעִ֣ים'ar.ba.'ImH705yearsשָׁנָ֔הsha.NahH8141,and they will sufferוְנָשְׂא֖וּve.na.se.'UH5375אֶת־'et-H853foryour unfaithfulnessזְנוּתֵיכֶ֑םze.nu.tei.KhemH2184until the lastעַד־'ad-H5704of your bodiesפִּגְרֵיכֶ֖םpig.rei.KhemH6297liesתֹּ֥םtomH8552in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ba.mid.BarH4057.

34In keeping with theבְּמִסְפַּ֨רbe.mis.ParH4557fortyאַרְבָּעִ֣ים'ar.ba.'ImH705daysהַיָּמִ֜יםhai.ya.MimH3117אֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834you spiedתַּרְתֶּ֣םtar.TemH8446אֶת־'et-H853out the landהָאָרֶץ֮ha.'a.RetzH776,you shall bearתִּשְׂאוּ֙tis.'UH5375אֶת־'et-H853your guiltעֲוֹנֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם'a.vo.No.tei.KhemH5771fortyאַרְבָּעִ֖ים'ar.ba.'ImH705yearsלַשָּׁנָ֞הla.sha.NahH8141—a yearלַשָּׁנָ֗הla.sha.NahH8141for each dayשָׁנָ֑הsha.NahH8141יוֹם֒yOmH3117י֣וֹםYomH3117י֣וֹםYomH3117—and you will experienceוִֽידַעְתֶּ֖םvi.da'.TemH3045אֶת־'et-H853My alienationתְּנוּאָתִֽי׃te.nu.'a.TiH8569.

35Iאֲנִ֣י'a.NiH589,the LORDיְהוָה֮Yah.wehH3068,have spokenדִּבַּרְתִּי֒di.bar.TiH1696,and I will surelyאִם־ לֹ֣א׀'im- lo'H518 H3808doאֶֽעֱשֶׂ֗ה'e.'e.SehH6213these thingsזֹ֣אתzotH2063to this entireלְכָל־le.kholH3605wickedהָֽרָעָה֙ הַזֹּ֔אתha.ra.'Ah ha.ZotH7451 H2063congregationהָעֵדָ֤הha.'e.DahH5712,which has conspiredהַנּוֹעָדִ֖יםha.no.'a.DimH3259against Meעָלָ֑י'a.LaiH5921.They will meet their endיִתַּ֖מּוּyi.Ta.muH8552in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֥ר הַזֶּ֛הba.mid.Bar ha.ZehH4057 H2088,and thereוְשָׁ֥םve.ShamH8033they will dieיָמֻֽתוּ׃ya.Mu.tuH4191.”

36So the menוְהָ֣אֲנָשִׁ֔יםve.Ha.'a.na.ShimH582Mosesמֹשֶׁ֖הmo.ShehH4872had sentשָׁלַ֥חsha.LachH7971to spy outלָת֣וּרla.TurH8446אֶת־'et-H853the landהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776,whoאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834had returnedוַיָּשֻׁ֗בוּvai.ya.Shu.vuH7725and made the wholeכָּל־kol-H3605congregationהָ֣עֵדָ֔הha.'e.DahH5712grumbleוַיַּלִּ֤ינוּvai.yi.lo.nuH3885against himעָלָיו֙'a.LavH5921אֶת־'et-H853by bringing outלְהוֹצִ֥יאle.ho.Tzi'H3318a bad reportדִבָּ֖הdi.BahH1681aboutעַל־'al-H5921the landהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776—

37those menהָֽאֲנָשִׁ֔יםha.'a.na.ShimH582who had brought outמוֹצִאֵ֥יmo.tzi.'EiH3318the badרָעָ֑הra.'AhH7451reportדִבַּת־di.bat-H1681about the landהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776—were struck downוַיָּמֻ֙תוּ֙vai.ya.Mu.tuH4191by a plagueבַּמַּגֵּפָ֖הba.ma.ge.FahH4046beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440the LORDיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

38Ofמִן־min-H4480thoseהָהֵ֔םha.HemH1992menH376who had goneהַֽהֹלְכִ֖יםha.ho.le.KhimH1980to spy outלָת֥וּרla.TurH8446אֶת־'et-H853the landהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776,only Joshuaוִיהוֹשֻׁ֣עַvi.ho.Shu.a'H3091sonבִּן־bin-H1121of Nunנ֔וּןNunH5126and Calebוְכָלֵ֖בve.kha.LevH3612sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Jephunnehיְפֻנֶּ֑הye.fu.NehH3312remained aliveחָיוּ֙cha.YuH2421.

39And when Mosesמֹשֶׁה֙mo.ShehH4872אֶת־'et-H853relayedוַיְדַבֵּ֤רvay.da.BerH1696theseהָאֵ֔לֶּהha.'E.lehH428wordsהַדְּבָרִ֣יםha.de.va.RimH1697toאֶֽל־'el-H413allכָּל־kol-H3605the Israelitesבְּנֵ֖י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑לbe.Nei Yis.ra.'ElH1121 H3478,the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971mournedוַיִּֽתְאַבְּל֥וּvai.yit.'a.be.LuH56bitterlyמְאֹֽד׃me.'OdH3966.

40Early the next morningבַבֹּ֔קֶרva.Bo.kerH1242they got upוַיַּשְׁכִּ֣מוּvai.yash.Ki.muH7925and went upוַיַּֽעֲל֥וּvai.ya.'a.LuH5927towardאֶל־'el-H413the ridgeרֹאשׁ־rosh-H7218of the hill countryהָהָ֖רha.HarH2022. “We have indeedהִנֶּ֗נּוּhi.Ne.nuH2005כִּ֥יkiH3588sinnedחָטָֽאנוּ׃cha.Ta.nuH2398,”they saidלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559, “but we will goוְעָלִ֛ינוּve.'a.Li.nuH5927toאֶל־'el-H413the placeהַמָּק֛וֹםha.ma.KomH4725אֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068has promisedאָמַ֥ר'a.MarH559.”

41But Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Whyלָ֥מָּה זֶּ֛הLa.mah zehH4100 H2088are youאַתֶּ֥ם'a.TemH859transgressingעֹבְרִ֖ים'oe.RimH5674אֶת־'et-H853the commandmentפִּ֣יpiH6310of the LORDיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068?Thisוְהִ֖ואve.Hiv'H1931will notלֹ֥אlo'H3808succeedתִצְלָֽח׃titz.LachH6743!

42Do notאַֽל־'al-H408go upתַּעֲל֔וּta.'a.LuH5927,lestוְלֹא֙ve.Lo'H3808you be struck downתִּנָּ֣גְפ֔וּti.Na.ge.FuH5062byלִפְנֵ֖יlif.NeiH6440your enemiesאֹיְבֵיכֶֽם׃'o.ye.vei.KhemH341,becauseכִּ֛יkiH3588the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068is notאֵ֥ין'einH369among youבְּקִרְבְּכֶ֑םbe.kir.be.KhemH7130.

43Forכִּי֩kiH3588thereשָׁם֙shamH8033the Amalekitesהָעֲמָלֵקִ֨יha.'a.mal.KiH6003and Canaanitesוְהַכְּנַעֲנִ֥יve.ha.ke.na.'a.NiH3669will face youלִפְנֵיכֶ֔םlif.nei.KhemH6440,and you will fallוּנְפַלְתֶּ֖םu.ne.fal.TemH5307by the swordבֶּחָ֑רֶבbe.Cha.revH2719.Becauseכִּֽי־ עַל־ כֵּ֤ןki- 'al- kenH3588 H5921 H3651you have turnedשַׁבְתֶּם֙shav.TemH7725awayמֵאַחֲרֵ֣יme.'a.cha.ReiH310from the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068, Heיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068will notוְלֹא־ve.lo'-H3808beיִהְיֶ֥הyih.YehH1961with youעִמָּכֶֽם׃'i.ma.KhemH5973.”

44But they daredוַיַּעְפִּ֕לוּvai.ya'.Pi.luH6075to go upלַעֲל֖וֹתla.'a.LotH5927toאֶל־'el-H413the ridgeרֹ֣אשׁroshH7218of the hill countryהָהָ֑רha.HarH2022,though neitherלֹא־lo'-H3808Mosesוּמֹשֶׁ֔הu.mo.ShehH4872northe arkוַאֲר֤וֹןva.'a.RonH727of the covenantבְּרִית־be.rit-H1285of the LORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068movedמָ֖שׁוּMa.shuH4185fromמִקֶּ֥רֶבmi.Ke.revH7130the campהַֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃Ha.ma.cha.NehH4264.

45Then the Amalekitesהָעֲמָלֵקִי֙ha.'a.mal.KiH6003and Canaanitesוְהַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֔יve.ha.ke.na.'a.NiH3669who livedהַיֹּשֵׁ֖בhai.yo.ShevH3427in thatהַה֑וּאha.Hu'H1931part of the hill countryבָּהָ֣רba.HarH2022came downוַיֵּ֤רֶדvai.Ye.redH3381,attacked themוַיַּכּ֥וּםvai.ya.KumH5221,and routed themוַֽיַּכְּת֖וּםvai.ya.ke.TumH3807all the wayעַד־'ad-H5704to Hormahהַֽחָרְמָֽה׃ פHa.cha.re.MahH2767.
