25Then the LORDיְהוָ֥ה׀Yah.wehH3068came downוַיֵּ֨רֶדvai.Ye.redH3381in the cloudבֶּעָנָן֮be.'a.NanH6051and spokeוַיְדַבֵּ֣רvay.da.BerH1696to himאֵלָיו֒'e.LavH413,and He tookוַיָּ֗אצֶלvai.Ya.tzelH680some ofמִן־min-H4480the Spiritהָר֙וּחַ֙ha.Ru.achH7307thatאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834was onעָלָ֔יו'a.LavH5921Mosesand placedוַיִּתֵּ֕ןvai.yi.TenH5414that Spirit onעַל־'al-H5921the seventyשִׁבְעִ֥ים אִ֖ישׁshiv.'Im 'ishH7657H376eldersהַזְּקֵנִ֑ים וַיְהִ֗יha.ze.ke.Nim vay.HiH2205H1961.As the Spiritהָר֔וּחַha.Ru.achH7307restedכְּנ֤וֹחַke.No.achH5117on themעֲלֵיהֶם֙'a.lei.HemH5921,they prophesiedוַיִּֽתְנַבְּא֖וּvai.yit.na.be.'UH5012—but they neverוְלֹ֥אve.Lo'H3808did so againיָסָֽפוּ׃ya.Sa.fuH3254.
26Twoשְׁנֵֽי־she.nei-H8147menאֲנָשִׁ֣ים׀'a.na.ShimH582,however, had remainedוַיִּשָּׁאֲר֣וּvai.yi.sha.'a.RuH7604in the campבַּֽמַּחֲנֶ֡הba.ma.cha.NehH4264—oneהָאֶחָ֣ד׀ha.'e.ChadH259namedשֵׁ֣םshemH8034Eldadאֶלְדָּ֡ד וְשֵׁם֩'el.Dad ve.ShemH419H8034and the otherהַשֵּׁנִ֨יha.she.NiH8145Medadמֵידָ֜דmei.DadH4312—and the Spiritהָר֗וּחַha.Ru.achH7307restedוַתָּ֧נַחva.Ta.nachH5117on themעֲלֵיהֶ֣ם'a.lei.HemH5921.Theyוְהֵ֙מָּה֙ve.He.mahH1992were among those listedבַּכְּתֻבִ֔יםba.ke.tu.VimH3789,but they had notוְלֹ֥אve.Lo'H3808gone outיָצְא֖וּya.tze.'UH3318to the tentהָאֹ֑הֱלָהha.'O.he.lahH168,and they prophesiedוַיִּֽתְנַבְּא֖וּvai.yit.na.be.'UH5012in the campבַּֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃Ba.ma.cha.NehH4264.
27A young manהַנַּ֔עַרha.Na.'arH5288ranוַיָּ֣רָץvai.Ya.rotzH7323and reportedוַיַּגֵּ֥דvai.ya.GedH5046to Mosesלְמֹשֶׁ֖ה וַיֹּאמַ֑רle.mo.Sheh vai.yo.MarH4872H559, “Eldadאֶלְדָּ֣ד'el.DadH419and Medadוּמֵידָ֔דu.mei.DadH4312are prophesyingמִֽתְנַבְּאִ֖יםmit.na.be.'ImH5012in the campבַּֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃Ba.ma.cha.NehH4264.”
28Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֣עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091sonבִּן־bin-H1121of Nunנ֗וּןNunH5126,the attendantמְשָׁרֵ֥תme.sha.RetH8334to Mosesמֹשֶׁ֛הmo.ShehH4872since youthמִבְּחֻרָ֖יוmi.be.chu.RavH979,spoke upוַיַּ֜עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030and saidוַיֹּאמַ֑רvai.yo.MarH559, “Mosesמֹשֶׁ֖הmo.ShehH4872,my lordאֲדֹנִ֥י'a.do.NiH113,stop themכְּלָאֵֽם׃ke.la.'EmH3607!”
29But Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872repliedוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Are youאַתָּ֖ה'a.TahH859jealousהַֽמְקַנֵּ֥אham.ka.Ne'H7065on myaccountוּמִ֨יu.MiH4310?I wish thatיִתֵּ֜ןyi.TenH5414allכָּל־kol-H3605the LORD’sיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068peopleעַ֤ם'amH5971were prophetsנְבִיאִ֔יםne.vi.'ImH5030and thatכִּי־ki-H3588the LORDיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068אֶת־'et-H853would placeיִתֵּ֧ןyi.TenH5414His Spiritרוּח֖וֹru.ChoH7307on themעֲלֵיהֶֽם׃'a.lei.HemH5921!”
