2and sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֗ve.'a.mar.TaH559: ‘Whatמָ֤הmahH4100was your motherאִמְּךָ֙'i.me.KhaH517?A lionessלְבִיָּ֔אle.vi.Ya'H3833amongבֵּ֥יןbeinH996the lionsאֲרָי֖וֹת'a.ra.YotH738!She lay downרָבָ֑צָהra.Va.tzahH7257amongבְּת֥וֹךְbe.TokhH8432the young lionsכְּפִרִ֖יםke.fi.RimH3715;she rearedרִבְּתָ֥הri.be.TahH7235her cubsגוּרֶֽיהָ׃gu.Rei.haH1482.

4When the nationsגּוֹיִ֖םgo.YimH1471heardוַיִּשְׁמְע֥וּvai.yish.me.'UH8085of himאֵלָ֛יו'e.LavH413,he was trappedנִתְפָּ֑שׂnit.PasH8610in their pitבְּשַׁחְתָּ֣םbe.shach.TamH7845.With hooksבַֽחַחִ֖יםva.cha.ChimH2397they led him awayוַיְבִאֻ֥הוּvay.vi.'U.huH935toאֶל־'el-H413the landאֶ֥רֶץ'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָֽיִם׃mitz.Ra.yimH4714.

5When she sawוַתֵּ֙רֶא֙va.Te.re'H7200thatכִּ֣יkiH3588she had waited in vainנֽוֹחֲלָ֔הno.cha.LahH3176,that her hopeתִּקְוָתָ֑הּtik.va.TahH8615was lostאָבְדָ֖ה'a.ve.DahH6,she tookוַתִּקַּ֛חva.ti.KachH3947anotherאֶחָ֥ד'e.ChadH259of her cubsמִגֻּרֶ֖יהָmi.gu.Rei.haH1482and made himשָׂמָֽתְהוּ׃sa.Ma.te.huH7760a young lionכְּפִ֥ירke.FirH3715.

7He broke downוַיֵּ֙דַע֙vai.Ye.da'H3045their strongholdsאַלְמְנוֹתָ֔יו'al.me.no.TavH490and devastatedהֶחֱרִ֑יבhe.che.RivH2717their citiesוְעָרֵיהֶ֖םve.'a.rei.HemH5892.The landאֶ֙רֶץ֙'e.retzH776and everything in itוּמְלֹאָ֔הּu.me.lo.'AhH4393shudderedוַתֵּ֤שַׁםva.Te.shamH3456at the soundמִקּ֖וֹלmi.KolH6963of his roaringשַׁאֲגָתֽוֹ׃sha.'a.ga.ToH7581.

8Then the nationsגּוֹיִ֛םgo.YimH1471set outוַיִּתְּנ֨וּvai.yi.te.NuH5414against himעָלָ֥יו'a.LavH5921from the provincesמִמְּדִינ֑וֹתmi.me.di.NotH4082on every sideסָבִ֖יבsa.VivH5439.They spreadוַֽיִּפְרְשׂ֥וּvai.yif.re.SuH6566their netרִשְׁתָּ֖םrish.TamH7568over himעָלָ֛יו'a.LavH5921;he was trappedנִתְפָּֽשׂ׃nit.PasH8610in their pitבְּשַׁחְתָּ֥םbe.shach.TamH7845.
