1 Corinthians 10:20-33
20But I say, that the thingsG3739 which the Gentiles sacrificeG2380, they sacrificeG2380 to demonsG1140, and not to GodG2316: and I would not that ye should have communion with demonsG1140. 21Ye cannot drinkG4095 the cupG4221 of the LordG2962, and the cupG4221 of demonsG1140: ye cannot partakeG3348 of the tableG5132 of the LordG2962, and of the tableG5132 of demonsG1140. 22Or do we provokeG3863 the LordG2962 to jealousyG3863? areG1510 we strongerG2478 than he?
23All thingsG3956 are lawfulG1832; but not all thingsG3956 are expedient. All thingsG3956 are lawfulG1832; but not all thingsG3956 edifyG3618. 24Let no man seekG2212 his ownG1438, but each his neighbor’s good. 25Whatsoever is soldG4453 in the shambles, eatG2068, asking no question for conscience’G4893 sakeG1223; 26for the earthG1093 is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof. 27If oneG5100 of them that believe not biddeth you to a feast, and ye are disposed to goG4198; whatsoever is setG3908 before you, eatG2068, asking no question for conscience’G4893 sakeG1223. 28But if any manG3778 sayG3004 unto you, This hath beenG1510 offered in sacrifice, eatG2068 not, for his sakeG1223 that showed it, and for conscience’G4893 sakeG1223: 29conscienceG4893, I sayG3004, not thine ownG1438, but the other’s; for why is my liberty judgedG2919 by another conscienceG4893? 30If I partakeG3348 with thankfulnessG5485, whyG5101 am I evil spoken of for that for which I giveG2168 thanksG2168? 31Whether thereforeG3767 ye eatG2068, or drinkG4095, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the gloryG1391 of GodG2316. 32Give no occasion of stumbling, either to JewsG2453, or to GreeksG1672, or to the churchG1577 of GodG2316: 33even as I also pleaseG700 all men in all thingsG3956, not seekingG2212 mine own profit, but the profit of the manyG4183, that they may be savedG4982.
