18Surely thou didst setתָּשִׁ֣יתta.ShitH7896them in slippery placesבַּ֭חֲלָקוֹתBa.cha.la.kotH2513:thou castedst them downהִ֝פַּלְתָּ֗םhi.pal.TamH5307into destructionלְמַשּׁוּאֽוֹת׃le.ma.shu.'otH4876.

19How are they broughtinto desolationלְשַׁמָּ֣הle.sha.MahH8047,as in a momentכְרָ֑גַעkhe.Ra.ga'H7281!they are utterlyסָ֥פוּSa.fuH5486consumedתַ֝֗מּוּTa.muH8552with terrorsבַּלָּהֽוֹת׃ba.la.HotH1091.

20As a dreamכַּחֲל֥וֹםka.cha.LomH2472when oneawakethמֵהָקִ֑יץme.ha.KitzH6974; so,O Lordאֲ֝דֹנָי'A.do.naiH136,when thou awakestבָּעִ֤יר׀ba.'IrH5782,thou shalt despiseתִּבְזֶֽה׃tiv.ZehH959their imageצַלְמָ֬םtzal.MamH6754.

21Thus my heartלְבָבִ֑יle.va.ViH3824was grievedיִתְחַמֵּ֣ץyit.cha.MetzH2556,and I was prickedאֶשְׁתּוֹנָֽן׃'esh.to.NanH8150in my reinsוְ֝כִלְיוֹתַ֗יve.khil.yo.TaiH3629.

22So foolishבַ֭עַרVa.'arH1198wasI, and ignorantאֵדָ֑ע'e.Da'H3045: I was asa beastבְּ֝הֵמ֗וֹתbe.he.MotH929before thee.

23Nevertheless I amcontinuallyתָמִ֣ידta.MidH8548with thee: thou hast holdenאָ֝חַ֗זְתָּ'a.Chaz.taH270meby my rightיְמִינִֽי׃ye.mi.NiH3225handבְּיַד־be.yad-H3027.
