4And the damselוְהַֽנַּעֲרָ֖הve.ha.na.'a.RahH5291wasveryמְאֹ֑דme.'OdH3966fairיָפָ֣הya.FahH3303,and cherishedסֹכֶ֙נֶת֙so.Khe.netH5532the kingלַמֶּ֤לֶךְla.Me.lekhH4428,and ministeredוַתְּשָׁ֣רְתֵ֔הוּva.te.Sha.re.Te.huH8334to him: but the kingוְהַמֶּ֖לֶךְve.ha.Me.lekhH4428knewיְדָעָֽהּ׃ye.da.'AhH3045her not.

5Then Adonijahוַאֲדֹנִיָּ֧הva.'a.do.ni.YahH138the sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Haggithחַגִּ֛יתcha.GitH2294exaltedH4984himself, sayingלֵאמֹ֖רle.MorH559,I will be kingאֶמְלֹ֑ךְ'em.LokhH4427:and he preparedוַיַּ֣עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213him chariotsרֶ֚כֶבRe.khevH7393and horsemenוּפָ֣רָשִׁ֔יםu.Fa.ra.ShimH6571,and fiftyוַחֲמִשִּׁ֥יםva.cha.mi.ShimH2572menאִ֖ישׁ'ishH376to runרָצִ֥יםra.TzimH7323beforeלְפָנָֽיו׃le.fa.NavH6440him.

6And his fatherאָבִ֤יו'a.VivH1had not displeasedעֲצָב֨וֹa.tza.VoH6087him at any timeמִיָּמָיו֙mi.ya.MavH3117in sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559,Why hast thou done soעָשִׂ֑יתָ'a.Si.taH6213? and he also was averyמְאֹ֔דme.'OdH3966goodlyטֽוֹב־ תֹּ֙אַר֙tov- to.'arH8389 H2896man; and his motherbareיָלְדָ֖הYal.dahH3205him afterאַחֲרֵ֥י'a.cha.ReiH310Absalomאַבְשָׁלֽוֹם׃'av.sha.LomH53.

14Behold, while thou yet talkestמְדַבֶּ֥רֶתme.da.Be.retH1696there with the kingהַמֶּ֑לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428,I also will come inאָב֣וֹא'a.Vo'H935afterאַחֲרַ֔יִךְ'a.cha.Ra.yikhH310thee, and confirmוּמִלֵּאתִ֖יu.mi.le.TiH4390thy wordsדְּבָרָֽיִךְ׃de.va.Ra.yikhH1697.

15And Bath–shebaH1339went inוַתָּבֹ֨אva.ta.Vo'H935unto the kingהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428into the chamberהַחַ֔דְרָהha.Chad.rahH2315:and the kingוְהַמֶּ֖לֶךְve.ha.Me.lekhH4428was veryמְאֹ֑דme.'OdH3966oldזָקֵ֣ןza.KenH2204;and Abishagוַֽאֲבִישַׁג֙va.'a.vi.ShagH49the Shunammiteהַשּׁ֣וּנַמִּ֔יתha.Shu.na.MitH7767ministeredמְשָׁרַ֖תme.sha.RatH8334unto the kingהַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ha.Me.lekhH4428.

17And she saidוַתֹּ֣אמֶרva.To.merH559unto him, My lordאֲדֹנִי֙'a.do.NiH113,thou swarestנִשְׁבַּ֜עְתָּnish.Ba'.taH7650by Yhwhבַּֽיהוָ֤הba.Yah.wehH3068thy Godאֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙'e.lo.Hei.khaH430unto thine handmaidלַֽאֲמָתֶ֔ךָla.'a.ma.Te.khaH519, saying,Assuredly Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֥הshe.lo.MohH8010thy sonבְנֵ֖ךְve.NekhH1121shall reignיִמְלֹ֣ךְyim.LokhH4427afterאַחֲרָ֑י'a.cha.RaiH310me, and he shall sitיֵשֵׁ֥בye.ShevH3427upon my throneכִּסְאִֽי׃kis.'IH3678.

18And now, behold, Adonijahאֲדֹנִיָּ֖ה'a.do.ni.YahH138reignethמָלָ֑ךְma.LakhH4427;and now, my lordאֲדֹנִ֥י'a.do.NiH113the kingהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428,thou knowestיָדָֽעְתָּ׃ya.Da.'e.taH3045it not:

19And he hath slainוַ֠יִּזְבַּחVai.yiz.bachH2076oxenשׁ֥וֹרShorH7794and fat cattleוּֽמְרִיא־u.me.ri'-H4806and sheepוְצֹאן֮ve.tzoNH6629in abundanceלָרֹב֒la.RoH7230,and hath calledוַיִּקְרָא֙vai.yik.Ra'H7121all the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428,and Abiatharוּלְאֶבְיָתָר֙u.le.'ev.ya.TarH54the priestהַכֹּהֵ֔ןha.ko.HenH3548,and Joabוּלְיֹאָ֖בu.le.yo.'AvH3097the captainשַׂ֣רsarH8269of the armyהַצָּבָ֑אha.tza.Va'H6635:but Solomonוְלִשְׁלֹמֹ֥הve.lish.lo.MohH8010thy servantעַבְדְּךָ֖'av.de.KhaH5650hath he not calledקָרָֽא׃ka.Ra'H7121.

20And thou, my lordאֲדֹנִ֣י'a.do.NiH113,O kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428,the eyesעֵינֵ֥י'ei.NeiH5869of all Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478areupon thee, that thou shouldest tellלְהַגִּ֣ידle.ha.GidH5046them who shall sitיֵשֵׁ֛בye.ShevH3427on the throneכִּסֵּ֥אki.Se'H3678of my lordאֲדֹנִֽי־'a.do.ni-H113the kingהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428afterאַחֲרָֽיו׃'a.cha.RavH310him.

21Otherwise it shall come to pass, when my lordאֲדֹנִֽי־'a.do.ni-H113the kingהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428shall sleepכִּשְׁכַ֥בkish.KhavH7901with his fathersאֲבֹתָ֑יו'a.vo.TavH1,that I and my sonוּבְנִ֥יu.ve.NiH1121Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֖הshe.lo.MohH8010shall be counted offendersחַטָּאִֽים׃cha.ta.'ImH2400.

22And, lo, while she yet talkedמְדַבֶּ֖רֶתme.da.Be.retH1696with the kingהַמֶּ֑לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428,Nathanוְנָתָ֥ןve.na.TanH5416the prophetהַנָּבִ֖יאha.na.Vi'H5030also came inבָּֽא׃Ba'H935.

23And they toldוַיַּגִּ֤ידוּvai.ya.Gi.duH5046the kingלַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙la.Me.lekhH4428,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559,Behold Nathanנָתָ֣ןna.TanH5416the prophetהַנָּבִ֑יאha.na.Vi'H5030.And when he was come inוַיָּבֹא֙vai.ya.Vo'H935beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428,he bowedוַיִּשְׁתַּ֧חוּvai.yish.Ta.chuH7812himself before the kingלַמֶּ֛לֶךְla.Me.lekhH4428with his faceאַפָּ֖יו'a.PavH639to the groundאָֽרְצָה׃'A.re.tzahH776.

24And Nathanנָתָן֒na.TanH5416saidוַיֹּאמֶר֮vai.yo.MerH559,My lordאֲדֹנִ֣י'a.do.NiH113,O kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428,hast thou saidאָמַ֔רְתָּ'a.Mar.taH559,Adonijahאֲדֹנִיָּ֖הוּ'a.do.ni.Ya.huH138shall reignיִמְלֹ֣ךְyim.LokhH4427afterאַחֲרָ֑י'a.cha.RaiH310me, and he shall sitיֵשֵׁ֥בye.ShevH3427upon my throneכִּסְאִֽי׃kis.'IH3678?

28Then kingהַמֶּ֤לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Davidדָּוִד֙da.VidH1732answeredוַיַּ֨עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030and saidוַיֹּ֔אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Callקִרְאוּ־kir.'u-H7121me Bath–shebaH1339.And she cameוַתָּבֹא֙va.ta.Vo'H935into the king’sהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428presenceלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440,and stoodוַֽתַּעֲמֹ֖דva.ta.'a.ModH5975beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440the kingהַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ha.Me.lekhH4428.

29And the kingהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428swareוַיִּשָּׁבַ֥עvai.yi.sha.Va'H7650,and saidוַיֹּאמַ֑רvai.yo.MarH559, AsYhwhיְהוָ֕הYah.wehH3068livethחַי־chai-H2416,that hath redeemedפָּדָ֥הpa.DahH6299my soulנַפְשִׁ֖יnaf.ShiH5315out of all distressצָרָֽה׃tza.RahH6869,

33The kingהַמֶּ֜לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428also saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto them, Takeקְח֤וּke.ChuH3947with you the servantsעַבְדֵ֣י'av.DeiH5650of your lordאֲדֹנֵיכֶ֔ם'a.do.nei.KhemH113,and cause Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֣הshe.lo.MohH8010my sonבְנִ֔יve.NiH1121to rideוְהִרְכַּבְתֶּם֙ve.hir.kav.TemH7392upon mine own muleהַפִּרְדָּ֖הha.pir.DahH6506,and bring him downוְהוֹרַדְתֶּ֥םve.ho.rad.TemH3381to Gihonגִּחֽוֹן׃gi.ChonH1521:
