46And aftersayingG657goodbyeG657to them, He leftἀπῆλθενapēlthenG565for the mountainὄροςorosG3735to prayπροσεύξασθαι.¶proseuxasthaiG4336.

47When it was eveningὀψίαςopsiasG3798,the boatπλοῖονploionG4143was in the middleμέσῳmesōG3319of the seaθαλάσσης,thalassēsG2281,and He was aloneμόνοςmonosG3441on the landγῆς.gēsG1093.

48SeeingG3708themstrainingβασανιζομένουςbasanizomenousG928at the oarsἐλαύνειν,elauneinG1643--for the windἄνεμοςanemosG417was againstἐναντίοςenantiosG1727them--at aboutπερὶperiG4012thefourthτετάρτηνtetartēnG5067watchφυλακὴνphulakēnG5438of the nightνυκτὸςnuktosG3571,He cameἔρχεταιerchetaiG2064to them, walkingπεριπατῶνperipatōnG4043on the seaθαλάσσηςthalassēsG2281;and He intendedἤθελενēthelenG2309to passπαρελθεῖνpareltheinG3928by them.

49But when they sawG3708Him walkingπεριπατοῦνταperipatountaG4043on the seaθαλάσσηςthalassēsG2281,they thoughtἔδοξανedoxanG1380that it was a ghostφάντασμάphantasmaG5326,and they criedG349outG349;

50for they allπάντεςpantesG3956sawG3708Him and wereterrifiedἐταράχθησαν.etarachthēsanG5015.But immediatelyG2117He spokeἐλάλησενelalēsenG2980with them and saidλέγειlegeiG3004to them, “Takeθαρσεῖτε,tharseiteG2293courageG2293; it is I,do not beG5399afraidG5399.”

52for theyhad not gainedG4920any insightG4920from the incident ofthe loavesἄρτοις,artoisG740, buttheir heartsκαρδίαkardiaG2588were hardenedπεπωρωμένη.¶pepōrōmenēG4456.

53When they had crossedG1276overG1276they cameἦλθονēlthonG2064to landγῆνgēnG1093at GennesaretΓεννησαρὲτGennēsaretG1082,and mooredπροσωρμίσθησαν.prosōrmisthēsanG4358at the shore.
