Judgment Must Come

1Then the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to me, “Eventhoughאִם־'im-H518Mosesמֹשֶׁ֤הmo.ShehH4872andSamuelוּשְׁמוּאֵל֙u.she.mu.'ElH8050were tostandיַעֲמֹ֨דya.'a.ModH5975beforeלְפָנַ֔יle.fa.NaiH6440Me, Myheartנַפְשִׁ֖יnaf.ShiH5315would not bewith thisהַזֶּ֑הha.ZehH2088peopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971;sendשַׁלַּ֥חsha.LachH7971them awayH7971from My presenceפָּנַ֖יpa.NaiH6440and let them goוְיֵצֵֽאוּ׃ve.ye.Tze.'uH3318!

2And it shall be that whenכִּֽי־ki-H3588they sayיֹאמְר֥וּyo.me.RuH559to you, ‘Whereאָ֣נָה'A.nahH575should we goנֵצֵ֑אne.Tze'H3318?’then you are to tellוְאָמַרְתָּ֨ve.'a.mar.TaH559them, ‘Thusכֹּֽה־koh-H3541saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068: “Those destinedfor deathלַמָּ֤וֶתla.Ma.vetH4194,to deathלַמָּ֙וֶת֙la.Ma.vetH4194; And those destinedfor the swordלַחֶ֙רֶב֙la.Che.revH2719,to the swordלַחֶ֔רֶבla.Che.revH2719; And those destinedfor famineלָֽרָעָב֙la.ra.'AvH7458,to famineלָֽרָעָ֔בla.ra.'AvH7458; And those destinedfor captivityלַשְּׁבִ֖יla.she.ViH7628,to captivityלַשֶּֽׁבִי׃la.She.viH7628.”’

3I willappointוּפָקַדְתִּ֨יu.fa.kad.TiH6485overעֲלֵיהֶ֜ם'a.lei.HemH5921them fourאַרְבַּ֤ע'ar.Ba'H702kindsמִשְׁפָּחוֹת֙mish.pa.chOtH4940of doom,”declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068: “the swordהַחֶ֣רֶבha.Che.revH2719to slayלַֽהֲרֹ֔גla.ha.RogH2026, thedogsהַכְּלָבִ֖יםha.ke.la.VimH3611to dragלִסְחֹ֑בlis.ChoH5498off, and thebirdsע֧וֹףofH5775of the skyהַשָּׁמַ֛יִםha.sha.Ma.yimH8064and the beastsבֶּהֱמַ֥תbe.he.MatH929of the earthהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776to devourלֶאֱכֹ֥לle.'e.KholH398and destroyוּלְהַשְׁחִֽית׃u.le.hash.ChitH7843.

4I willmakeוּנְתַתִּ֣יםu.ne.ta.TimH5414them an objectH2113of horrorH2113among allלְכֹ֖לle.KholH3605the kingdomsמַמְלְכ֣וֹתmam.le.KhotH4467of the earthהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776becauseבִּ֠גְלַלBig.lalH1558ofManassehמְנַשֶּׁ֤הme.na.ShehH4519,the sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Hezekiahיְחִזְקִיָּ֙הוּ֙ye.chiz.ki.Ya.huH2396,the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063,for whatאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834he didעָשָׂ֖ה'a.SahH6213in Jerusalemבִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃bi.ru.sha.LimH3389.

5“Indeedכִּ֠יkiH3588,whoמִֽי־mi-H4310will haveH2550pityH2550on you, O Jerusalemיְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔םye.Ru.sha.LimH3389,Or whoוּמִ֖יu.MiH4310willmournיָנ֣וּדya.NudH5110for you,Or whoוּמִ֣יu.MiH4310will turnיָס֔וּרya.SurH5493asideH5493to askלִשְׁאֹ֥לlish.'OlH7592about your welfareלְשָׁלֹ֖םle.sha.LomH7965?

6You who haveforsakenנָטַ֥שְׁתְּna.TashtH5203Me,” declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068, “You keepgoingתֵּלֵ֑כִיte.Le.khiH1980backwardאָח֣וֹר'a.ChorH268. So I willstretchוָאַ֨טva.'AtH5186out My handיָדִ֤יya.DiH3027againstעָלַ֙יִךְ֙'a.La.yikhH5921you and destroyוָֽאַשְׁחִיתֵ֔ךְva.'ash.chi.TekhH7843you; I amtiredנִלְאֵ֖יתִיnil.'Ei.tiH3811of relentingהִנָּחֵֽם׃hi.na.ChemH5162!

7I willwinnowH2219them with a winnowingH2219forkבְּמִזְרֶ֖הbe.miz.RehH4214At the gatesבְּשַׁעֲרֵ֣יbe.sha.'a.ReiH8179of the landהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776; I willbereaveH7921themof childrenH7921,I will destroyאִבַּ֙דְתִּי֙'i.Bad.tiH6My peopleעַמִּ֔י'a.MiH5971; They did notrepentשָֽׁבוּ׃Sha.vuH7725of their waysמִדַּרְכֵיהֶ֖םmi.dar.khei.HemH1870.

8Theirwidowsאַלְמְנֹתָיו֙'al.me.no.TavH490will be moreH4480numerousעָֽצְמוּ־'a.tze.mu-H6105before MeThanH4480the sandמֵח֣וֹלme.CholH2344of the seasיַמִּ֔יםya.MimH3220;I will bringהֵבֵ֨אתִיhe.Ve.tiH935against them, againstH5921the motherאֵ֛ם'emH517of a youngבָּח֖וּרba.ChurH970manH970, Adestroyerשֹׁדֵ֣דsho.DedH7703at noondayבַּֽצָּהֳרָ֑יִםba.tzo.ho.Ra.yimH6672;I will suddenlyפִּתְאֹ֔םpit.'OmH6597bringH5307downH5307on herAnguishעִ֖יר'irH5892and dismayוּבֶהָלֽוֹת׃u.ve.ha.LotH928.

Hersunשִׁמְשָׁ֛הּshim.ShahH8121has setבָּ֥אba.'ah'H935while it was yetבְּעֹ֥דbe.'OdH5750dayיוֹמָ֖םyo.MamH3119;She has beenH954shamedH954and humiliatedוְחָפֵ֑רָהve.cha.Fe.rahH2659. 10Woeאֽוֹי־'o-H188to me, my motherאִמִּ֔י'i.MiH517,that you have borneיְלִדְתִּ֗נִיye.lid.Ti.niH3205me As amanאִ֥ישׁ'ishH376of strifeרִ֛יבrivH7379and a manוְאִ֥ישׁve.'IshH376of contentionמָד֖וֹןma.DonH4066to allלְכָל־le.kholH3605the landהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776! I have notlentנָשִׁ֥יתִיna.Shi.tiH5383,norH3808have men lentנָֽשׁוּ־na.shu-H5383money to me, Yeteveryoneכֻּלֹּ֥הku.LohH3605cursesמְקַלְלַֽונִי׃ סme.ka.La.v.niH7043me.

11The Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068saidאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559, “Surelyאִם־ לֹ֥א'im- lo'H518 H3808I willsetH8281you freeH8281for purposes ofgoodלְט֑וֹבle.TovH2896;Surelyאִם־ ל֣וֹא׀'im- Lo'H518 H3808I will cause theenemyH340to makeH6293supplicationH6293to youIn a timeבְּעֵ֥ת־be.'Et-H6256of disasterH7463and a timeוּבְעֵ֥תu.ve.'EtH6256of distressצָרָ֖הtza.RahH6869.

12“Can anyone smashהֲיָרֹ֨עַha.ya.Ro.a'H7489ironבַּרְזֶ֧ל׀bar.ZelH1270,Ironבַּרְזֶ֛לbar.ZelH1270from the northמִצָּפ֖וֹןmi.tza.FonH6828,or bronzeוּנְחֹֽשֶׁת׃u.ne.Cho.shetH5178?

13Yourwealthחֵילְךָ֧chei.le.KhaH2428and your treasuresוְאוֹצְרוֹתֶ֛יךָve.'otz.ro.Tei.khaH214I will giveאֶתֵּ֖ן'e.TenH5414for bootyלָבַ֥זla.VazH957withoutלֹ֣אlo'H3808costבִמְחִ֑ירvim.ChirH4242,Even for allוּבְכָל־u.ve.Khol-H3605your sinsחַטֹּאותֶ֖יךָcha.to.Tei.khaH2403And within allוּבְכָל־u.ve.Khol-H3605your bordersגְּבוּלֶֽיךָ׃ge.vu.Lei.khaH1366.

14Then I will cause your enemiesH340to bringוְהַֽעֲבַרְתִּי֙ve.ha.'a.var.TiH5674it Into alandבְּאֶ֖רֶץbe.'E.retzH776you do not knowיָדָ֑עְתָּya.Da.'e.taH3045; For afireאֵ֛שׁ'eshH784has beenH6919kindledH6919in My angerבְאַפִּ֖יve.'a.PiH639,It will burnתּוּקָֽד׃ סtu.KadH3344upon you.”
