1Then the wordדְבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068cameוַיְהִ֧יvay.HiH1961to Jeremiahיִרְמְיָ֖הוּyir.me.Ya.huH3414the secondשֵׁנִ֑יתshe.NitH8145timeH8145,while he was stillעוֹדֶ֣נּוּo.De.nuH5750confinedעָצ֔וּר'a.TzurH6113in the courtבַּחֲצַ֥רba.cha.TzarH2691of the guardהַמַּטָּרָ֖הha.ma.ta.RahH4307,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

2“Thusכֹּֽה־koh-H3541saysאָמַ֥ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068who madeעֹשָׂ֑הּ'o.SahH6213the earth,the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068who formedיוֹצֵ֥רyo.TzerH3335it to establishלַהֲכִינָ֖הּla.ha.khi.NahH3559it, theLordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068is His nameשְׁמֽוֹ׃she.MoH8034,

3‘Callקְרָ֥אke.Ra'H7121to Me and I will answerוְאֶעֱנֶ֑ךָּve.'e.'e.Ne.kaH6030you, and I will tellוְאַגִּ֧ידָהve.'a.Gi.dahH5046yougreatגְּדֹל֥וֹתge.do.LotH1419and mightyH1219thingsH1219,which you do not knowיְדַעְתָּֽם׃ סye.da'.TamH3045.’

4For thusכֹ֨הkhohH3541saysאָמַ֤ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478concerningעַל־'al-H5921thehousesבָּתֵּי֙ba.TeiH1004of thisH2088cityהָעִ֣ירha.'IrH5892,and concerningוְעַל־ve.'al-H5921the housesבָּתֵּ֖יba.TeiH1004of the kingsמַלְכֵ֣יmal.KheiH4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063which are brokenH5422downהַנְּתֻצִ֕יםha.ne.tu.TzimH5422to make a defenseagainstאֶל־'el-H413thesiegeH5550rampsH5550and againstוְאֶל־ve.'el-H413the swordהֶחָֽרֶב׃he.Cha.revH2719,

5‘While theyare comingבָּאִ֗יםba.'ImH935tofightלְהִלָּחֵם֙le.hi.la.ChemH3898with the Chaldeansהַכַּשְׂדִּ֔יםha.kas.DimH3778and to fillוּלְמַלְאָם֙u.le.mal.'AmH4390them with the corpsesפִּגְרֵ֣יpig.ReiH6297of menהָאָדָ֔םha.'a.DamH120whomH834I have slainהִכֵּ֥יתִיhi.Kei.tiH5221in My angerבְאַפִּ֖יve.'a.PiH639and in My wrathוּבַחֲמָתִ֑יu.va.cha.ma.TiH2534, and I havehiddenהִסְתַּ֤רְתִּיhis.Tar.tiH5641My faceפָנַי֙fa.NaiH6440from thisH2088cityמֵהָעִ֣ירme.ha.'IrH5892becauseעַ֖ל'alH5921of allכָּל־kol-H3605their wickednessH7463:

6BeholdH2009,I will bringמַעֲלֶה־ma.'a.leh-H5927to ithealthאֲרֻכָ֥ה'a.ru.KhahH724and healingוּמַרְפֵּ֖אu.mar.Pe'H4832,and I will healוּרְפָאתִ֑יםu.re.fa.TimH7495them; and I will revealוְגִלֵּיתִ֣יve.gi.lei.TiH1540to them anabundanceעֲתֶ֥רֶת'a.Te.retH6283of peaceשָׁל֖וֹםsha.LomH7965and truthוֶאֱמֶֽת׃ve.'e.MetH571.

7I willrestoreוַהֲשִֽׁבֹתִי֙va.ha.shi.vo.TiH7725thefortunesשְׁב֣וּתshe.VutH7622of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063and the fortunesשְׁב֣וּתshe.VutH7622of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478and willrebuildוּבְנִתִ֖יםu.ve.ni.TimH1129them as they were at firstכְּבָרִֽאשֹׁנָֽה׃ke.va.Ri.sho.NahH7223.

8I willcleanseוְטִ֣הַרְתִּ֔יםve.Ti.har.TimH2891them from allמִכָּל־mi.kolH3605their iniquityעֲוֹנָ֖ם'a.vo.NamH5771by whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834they have sinnedחָֽטְאוּ־cha.te.'u-H2398against Me, and I will pardonוְסָלַחְתִּ֗יve.sa.lach.TiH5545allלְכָלle.khol-H3605their iniquitiesעֲוֹנֽוֹתֵיהֶם֙a.vo.no.tei.HemH5771by whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834they have sinnedחָֽטְאוּ־cha.te.'u-H2398against Me and by whichוַאֲשֶׁ֖רva.'a.SherH834they have transgressedפָּ֥שְׁעוּPa.she.'uH6586against Me.

9It will be to Me anameלְשֵׁ֤םle.ShemH8034of joyשָׂשׂוֹן֙sa.sOnH8342,praiseלִתְהִלָּ֣הlit.hi.LahH8416and gloryוּלְתִפְאֶ֔רֶתu.le.tif.'E.retH8597beforeallלְכֹ֖לle.KholH3605the nationsגּוֹיֵ֣יgo.YeiH1471of the earthהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776whichH834will hearיִשְׁמְע֜וּyish.me.'UH8085of allכָּל־kol-H3605thegoodH2899that I doעֹשֶׂ֣ה'o.SehH6213for them, and they willfearוּפָחֲד֣וּu.fa.cha.DuH6342and trembleוְרָֽגְז֗וּve.ra.ge.ZuH7264becauseH5921of allכָּל־kol-H3605the goodH2899and allכָּל־kol-H3605the peaceהַשָּׁל֔וֹםha.sha.LomH7965that I makeעֹ֥שֶׂה'O.sehH6213for it.’

10“Thusכֹּ֣ה׀kohH3541saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068, ‘YetH5750againעוֹד֮'OdH5750there will be heardיִשָּׁמַ֣עyi.sha.Ma'H8085in thisהַזֶּה֒ha.ZehH2088placeבַּמָּקוֹם־ba.ma.kom-H4725,of whichאֲשֶׁר֙'a.SherH834you sayאֹֽמְרִ֔ים'o.me.RimH559, “It is awasteחָרֵ֣בcha.RevH2720,withoutמֵאֵ֥יןme.'EinH369manאָדָ֖ם'a.DamH120and withoutוּמֵאֵ֣יןu.me.'EinH369beastבְּהֵמָ֑הbe.he.MahH929,” that is,in the citiesבְּעָרֵ֤יbe.'a.ReiH5892of Judahיְהוּדָה֙ye.hu.DahH3063and in the streetsוּבְחֻצ֣וֹתu.ve.chu.TzotH2351of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֔םye.ru.sha.LimH3389that aredesolateהַֽנְשַׁמּ֗וֹתhan.sha.MotH8074,withoutמֵאֵ֥יןme.'EinH369manאָדָ֛ם'a.DamH120and withoutוּמֵאֵ֥יןu.me.'EinH369inhabitantיוֹשֵׁ֖בyo.ShevH3427and withoutוּמֵאֵ֥יןu.me.'EinH369beastבְּהֵמָֽה׃be.he.MahH929,

11the voiceק֣וֹלKolH6963ofjoyשָׂשׂ֞וֹןsa.SonH8342and the voiceוְק֣וֹלve.KolH6963of gladnessשִׂמְחָ֗הsim.ChahH8057,the voiceק֣וֹלKolH6963of the bridegroomחָתָן֮cha.TanH2860and the voiceוְק֣וֹלve.KolH6963of the brideכַּלָּה֒ka.LahH3618,the voiceק֣וֹלKolH6963of those who sayאֹמְרִ֡ים'o.me.RimH559, “Giveהוֹדוּ֩ho.DuH3034thanksH3034to the Lordיְהוָ֨הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֜וֹתtze.va.'otH6635,For the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068is goodט֤וֹבTovH2896,For His lovingkindnessחַסְדּ֔וֹchas.DoH2617is everlastingלְעוֹלָ֣םle.'o.LamH5769”; and of thosewho bringמְבִאִ֥יםme.vi.'ImH935athankH8426offeringH8426into the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068.For I will restoreאָשִׁ֧יב'a.ShivH7725thefortunesשְׁבוּת־she.vut-H7622of the landהָאָ֛רֶץha.'A.retzH776as they were at firstכְּבָרִאשֹׁנָ֖הke.va.ri.sho.NahH7223,’saysאָמַ֥ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָֽה׃ סYah.wehH3068.

12“Thusכֹּֽה־koh-H3541saysאָמַר֮'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָאוֹת֒tze.va.'OtH6635, ‘There will againע֞וֹדodH5750be in thisהַזֶּ֗הha.ZehH2088placeבַּמָּק֣וֹםba.ma.KomH4725which is wasteהֶחָרֵ֛בhe.cha.RevH2720,withoutמֵֽאֵין־me.'ein-H4480 H369manאָדָ֥ם'a.DamH120or beastבְּהֵמָ֖הbe.he.MahH929,and in allוּבְכָל־u.ve.Khol-H3605its citiesעָרָ֑יו'a.RavH5892, ahabitationנְוֵ֣הne.VehH5116of shepherdsרֹעִ֔יםro.'ImH7462who restמַרְבִּצִ֖יםmar.bi.TzimH7257theirflocksצֹֽאן׃TzonH6629.

14‘Beholdהִנֵּ֛הhi.NehH2009,daysיָמִ֥יםya.MimH3117are comingבָּאִ֖יםba.'ImH935,’declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068, ‘when I willfulfillוַהֲקִֽמֹתִי֙va.ha.ki.mo.TiH6965the goodהַטּ֔וֹבha.TovH2896wordהַדָּבָ֣רha.da.VarH1697whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834I have spokenדִּבַּ֛רְתִּיdi.Bar.tiH1696concerningאֶל־'el-H413the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478and the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Judahיְהוּדָֽה׃ye.hu.DahH3063.

15In thoseהָהֵם֙ha.HemH1992daysבַּיָּמִ֤יםbai.ya.MimH3117and at that timeוּבָעֵ֣תu.va.'EtH6256I will cause arighteousצְדָקָ֑הtze.da.KahH6666Branchצֶ֣מַחTze.machH6780of Davidלְדָוִ֖דle.da.VidH1732to springH6779forthH6779;and He shall executeוְעָשָׂ֛הve.'a.SahH6213justiceמִשְׁפָּ֥טmish.PatH4941and righteousnessוּצְדָקָ֖הu.tze.da.KahH6666on the earthבָּאָֽרֶץ׃ba.'A.retzH776.

16In thoseהָהֵם֙ha.HemH1992daysבַּיָּמִ֤יםbai.ya.MimH3117Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063will be savedתִּוָּשַׁ֣עti.va.Sha'H3467and Jerusalemוִירוּשָׁלִַ֖םvi.ru.sha.LimH3389will dwellתִּשְׁכּ֣וֹןtish.KonH7931in safetyלָבֶ֑טַחla.Ve.tachH983;and thisוְזֶ֥הve.ZehH2088is the nameby whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834she will be calledיִקְרָא־yik.ra'-H7121: theLordיְהוָ֥ה׀Yah.wehH3068is our righteousnessצִדְקֵֽנוּ׃ סtzid.Ke.nuH6664.’

17For thusכֹ֖הkhohH3541saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068, ‘Davidלְדָוִ֔דle.da.VidH1732shallneverלֹֽא־lo'-H3808lackיִכָּרֵ֣תyi.ka.RetH3772a manאִ֕ישׁ'ishH376to sitיֹשֵׁ֖בyo.ShevH3427on the throneכִּסֵּ֥אki.Se'H3678of the houseבֵֽית־veit-H1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478;

20“Thusכֹּ֚הkohH3541saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068, ‘Ifאִם־'im-H518you canbreakתָּפֵ֙רוּ֙ta.Fe.ruH6565My covenantבְּרִיתִ֣יbe.ri.TiH1285for the dayהַיּ֔וֹםhai.YomH3117and My covenantבְּרִיתִ֖יbe.ri.TiH1285for the nightהַלָּ֑יְלָהha.La.ye.lahH3915,so that dayיֽוֹמָם־yo.mom-H3119and nightוָלַ֖יְלָהva.Lay.lahH3915will not be at their appointedH6256timeבְּעִתָּֽם׃be.'i.TamH6256,

21thenMy covenantבְּרִיתִ֤יbe.ri.TiH1285may alsoגַּם־gam-H1571be brokenתֻפַר֙tu.FarH6565with Davidדָּוִ֣דda.VidH1732My servantעַבְדִּ֔י'av.DiH5650so that he will not haveמִהְיֽוֹת־mih.yot-H1961a sonבֵ֖ןvenH1121to reignמֹלֵ֣ךְmo.LekhH4427on his throneכִּסְא֑וֹkis.'OH3678,and with the Leviticalהַלְוִיִּ֥םhal.vi.YimH3881priestsהַכֹּהֲנִ֖יםha.ko.ha.NimH3548,My ministersמְשָׁרְתָֽי׃me.sha.re.TaiH8334.

22As thehostצְבָ֣אtze.Va'H6635of heavenהַשָּׁמַ֔יִםha.sha.Ma.yimH8064cannotלֹֽא־lo'-H3808be countedיִסָּפֵר֙yi.sa.FerH5608and thesandח֣וֹלCholH2344of the seaהַיָּ֑םhai.YamH3220cannotוְלֹ֥אve.Lo'H3808be measuredיִמַּ֖דyi.MadH4058,soכֵּ֣ןkenH3651I willmultiplyאַרְבֶּ֗ה'ar.BehH7235thedescendantsזֶ֙רַע֙ze.ra'H2233of Davidדָּוִ֣דda.VidH1732My servantעַבְדִּ֔י'av.DiH5650and theLevitesהַלְוִיִּ֖םhal.vi.YimH3881who ministerמְשָׁרְתֵ֥יme.sha.re.TeiH8334to Me.’”

24“Have you not observedרָאִ֗יתָra.'I.taH7200whatמָֽה־mah-H4100thisהַזֶּה֙ha.ZehH2088peopleהָעָ֤םha.'AmH5971have spokenדִּבְּר֣וּdi.be.RuH1696,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559, ‘Thetwoשְׁתֵּ֣יshe.TeiH8147familiesהַמִּשְׁפָּח֗וֹתha.mish.pa.ChotH4940whichאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068choseבָּחַ֧רba.CharH977, He hasrejectedוַיִּמְאָסֵ֑םvai.yim.'a.SemH3988them’? Thus theydespiseיִנְאָצ֔וּןyin.'a.TzunH5006My peopleעַמִּי֙'a.MiH5971,noH4480longerע֖וֹדodH5750are they as a nationגּ֥וֹיGoyH1471in their sightלִפְנֵיהֶֽם׃ סlif.nei.HemH6440.

25Thusכֹּ֚הkohH3541saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068, ‘Ifאִם־'im-H518Mycovenantבְרִיתִ֖יve.ri.TiH1285fordayיוֹמָ֣םyo.MamH3119and nightוָלָ֑יְלָהva.La.ye.lahH3915stand not, and thefixedחֻקּ֛וֹתchu.KotH2708patternsH2708of heavenשָׁמַ֥יִםsha.Ma.yimH8064and earthוָאָ֖רֶץva.'A.retzH776I havenot establishedשָֽׂמְתִּי׃Sa.me.tiH7760,

26thenגַּם־gam-H1571I wouldrejectאֶמְאַ֗ס'em.'AsH3988thedescendantsזֶ֣רַעZe.ra'H2233of Jacobיַעֲקוֹב֩ya.'a.kOvH3290and Davidוְדָוִ֨דve.da.VidH1732My servantעַבְדִּ֜י'av.DiH5650,not takingמִקַּ֤חַתmi.Ka.chatH3947from hisdescendantsמִזַּרְעוֹ֙mi.zar.'OH2233rulersמֹֽשְׁלִ֔יםmo.she.LimH4910overאֶל־'el-H413thedescendantsזֶ֥רַעZe.ra'H2233of Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֖ם'av.ra.HamH85,IsaacH3327and Jacobוְיַעֲקֹ֑בve.ya.'a.KoH3290. But I willrestoreאָשִׁ֥יב'a.shuvH7725theirfortunesשְׁבוּתָ֖םshe.vu.TamH7622and will haveH7355mercyH7355on them.’”
