4And the Lordיְהוָ֨הYah.wehH3068has sentוְשָׁלַח֩ve.sha.LachH7971to you allכָּל־kol-H3605Hisservantsעֲבָדָ֧יו'a.va.DavH5650the prophetsהַנְּבִאִ֛יםha.ne.vi.'ImH5030againהַשְׁכֵּ֥םhash.KemH7925and againוְשָׁלֹ֖חַve.sha.Lo.achH7971,but you have not listenedשְׁמַעְתֶּ֑םshe.ma'.TemH8085norH3808inclinedהִטִּיתֶ֥םhi.ti.TemH5186your earאָזְנְכֶ֖ם'a.ze.ne.KhemH241to hearלִשְׁמֹֽעַ׃lish.Mo.a'H8085,

5sayingלֵאמֹ֗רle.MorH559, ‘Turnשֽׁוּבוּ־shu.vu-H7725nowנָ֞אna'H4994everyoneאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376from his evilהָֽרָעָה֙ha.ra.'AhH7451wayמִדַּרְכּ֤וֹmi.dar.KoH1870and from the evilוּמֵרֹ֣עַu.me.Ro.a'H7455of your deedsמַעַלְלֵיכֶ֔םma.'a.lei.KhemH4611,and dwellוּשְׁבוּ֙u.she.VuH3427on the landהָ֣אֲדָמָ֔הha.'a.da.MahH127whichאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068has givenנָתַ֧ןna.TanH5414to you and your forefathersוְלַאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֑םve.la.'a.vo.tei.KhemH1foreverלְמִן־ עוֹלָ֖םle.min- o.LamH4480 H5769and everעוֹלָֽם׃o.LamH5769;

6anddo not goתֵּלְכ֗וּte.le.KhuH1980afterאַֽחֲרֵי֙'a.cha.ReiH310otherאֲחֵרִ֔ים'a.che.RimH312godsאֱלֹהִ֣ים'E.lo.HimH430toserveלְעָבְדָ֖םle.'a.ve.DamH5647them and toworshipוּלְהִשְׁתַּחֲוֹ֣תu.le.hish.ta.cha.VotH7812them, and do not provokeתַכְעִ֤יסוּtakh.'I.suH3707Me to angerH3707with the workבְּמַעֲשֵׂ֣הbe.ma.'a.SehH4639of your handsיְדֵיכֶ֔םye.dei.KhemH3027,and I will doH7489you noH3808harmאָרַ֖ע'a.Ra'H7489.’

7Yet you have not listenedשְׁמַעְתֶּ֥םshe.ma'.TemH8085to Me,” declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068, “in orderלְמַ֧עַןle.Ma.'anH4616that you mightprovokeהַכְעִיסֵ֛נִיhikh.'i.su.niH3707Me to angerH3707with the workבְּמַעֲשֵׂ֥הbe.ma.'a.SehH4639of your handsיְדֵיכֶ֖םye.dei.KhemH3027to your own harmלְרַ֥עle.Ra'H7451.

8“Thereforeלָכֵ֕ןla.KhenH3651thusכֹּ֥הkohH3541saysאָמַ֖ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֑וֹתtze.va.'otH6635, ‘Becauseיַ֕עַן אֲשֶׁ֥רYa.'an 'a.SherH3282 H834you have not obeyedשְׁמַעְתֶּ֖םshe.ma'.TemH8085My wordsדְּבָרָֽי׃de.va.RaiH1697,

9beholdH2009, I willsendשֹׁלֵ֡חַsho.Le.achH7971and takeוְלָקַחְתִּי֩ve.la.kach.TiH3947allכָּל־kol-H3605the familiesמִשְׁפְּח֨וֹתmish.pe.ChotH4940of the northצָפ֜וֹןtza.FonH6828,’declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068, ‘and I will sendto Nebuchadnezzarנְבֽוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֣רne.vu.khad.re.TzarH5019kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Babylonבָּבֶל֮ba.VelH894,My servantעַבְדִּי֒'av.DiH5650,and will bringוַהֲבִ֨אֹתִ֜יםva.ha.Vi.'o.TimH935them againstעַל־'al-H5921thisH2088landהָאָ֤רֶץha.'A.retzH776and againstוְעַל־ve.'al-H5921its inhabitantsיֹ֣שְׁבֶ֔יהָyo.she.Vei.haH3427and againstוְעַ֛לve.'AlH5921allכָּל־kol-H3605theseהָאֵ֖לֶּהha.'E.lehH428nationsהַגּוֹיִ֥םha.go.YimH1471roundסָבִ֑יבsa.VivH5439aboutH5439; and I willutterlyH2763destroyוְהַ֣חֲרַמְתִּ֔יםve.Ha.cha.ram.TimH2763them andmakeוְשַׂמְתִּים֙ve.sam.TimH7760them a horrorלְשַׁמָּ֣הle.sha.MahH8047and a hissingוְלִשְׁרֵקָ֔הve.lish.re.KahH8322,and an everlastingעוֹלָֽם׃o.LamH5769desolationוּלְחָרְב֖וֹתu.le.cha.re.VotH2723.

10Moreover, I willtakeוְהַאֲבַדְתִּ֣יve.ha.'a.vad.TiH6from them the voiceק֤וֹלKolH6963of joyשָׂשׂוֹן֙sa.sOnH8342and the voiceוְק֣וֹלve.KolH6963of gladnessשִׂמְחָ֔הsim.ChahH8057,the voiceק֥וֹלKolH6963of the bridegroomחָתָ֖ןcha.TanH2860and the voiceוְק֣וֹלve.KolH6963of the brideכַּלָּ֑הka.LahH3618, thesoundק֥וֹלKolH6963of the millstonesרֵחַ֖יִםre.Cha.yimH7347and the lightוְא֥וֹרve.'orH216of the lampנֵֽר׃NerH5216.

11ThisH2088wholeכָּל־kol-H3605landהָאָ֣רֶץha.'A.retzH776will be a desolationלְחָרְבָּ֖הle.cha.re.BahH2723and a horrorלְשַׁמָּ֑הle.sha.MahH8047,and theseהָאֵ֛לֶּהha.'E.lehH428nationsהַגּוֹיִ֥םha.go.YimH1471will serveוְעָ֨בְד֜וּve.'A.ve.DuH5647the kingמֶ֥לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Babylonבָּבֶ֖לba.VelH894seventyשִׁבְעִ֥יםshiv.'ImH7657yearsשָׁנָֽה׃sha.NahH8141.

Babylon Will Be Judged

12‘Then it will bewhen seventyשִׁבְעִ֣יםshiv.'ImH7657yearsשָׁנָ֡הsha.NahH8141are completedכִמְלֹ֣אותkhim.LotH4390I willpunishאֶפְקֹ֣ד'ef.KodH6485the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Babylonבָּבֶל֩ba.VelH894and that nationהַגּ֨וֹיha.GoyH1471,’declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068, ‘for their iniquityעֲוֹנָ֖ם'a.vo.NamH5771,and the landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776of the Chaldeansכַּשְׂדִּ֑יםkas.DimH3778; andI will makeוְשַׂמְתִּ֥יve.sam.TiH7760it an everlastingעוֹלָֽם׃o.LamH5769desolationלְשִֽׁמְמ֥וֹתle.shi.MotH8077.

13I will bringוְהֵֽבֵאתִי֙ve.he.ve.tiH935upon that landהָאָ֣רֶץha.'A.retzH776allכָּל־kol-H3605My wordsדְּבָרַ֖יde.va.RaiH1697whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834I have pronouncedדִּבַּ֣רְתִּיdi.Bar.tiH1696againstH5921it, allכָּל־kol-H3605that is writtenהַכָּתוּב֙ha.ka.TuvH3789inthisהַזֶּ֔הha.ZehH2088bookבַּסֵּ֣פֶרba.Se.ferH5612whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834Jeremiahיִרְמְיָ֖הוּyir.me.Ya.huH3414has prophesiedנִבָּ֥אni.Ba'H5012againstH5921allכָּל־kol-H3605the nationsהַגּוֹיִֽם׃ha.go.YimH1471.

14(Formanyרַבִּ֔יםra.BimH7227nationsגּוֹיִ֣םgo.YimH1471and greatגְּדוֹלִ֑יםge.do.LimH1419kingsוּמְלָכִ֖יםu.me.la.KhimH4428will makeH5647slavesH5647of them, evenגַּם־gam-H1571them; and I willrecompenseוְשִׁלַּמְתִּ֥יve.shi.lam.TiH7999them according to their deedsכְּפָעֳלָ֖םke.fo.'o.LamH6467and according to the workוּכְמַעֲשֵׂ֥הu.khe.ma.'a.SehH4639of their handsיְדֵיהֶֽם׃ סye.dei.HemH3027.)’”

15For thusכֹה֩khohH3541the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֤י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478,saysאָמַ֨ר'a.MarH559to me, “Takeקַ֠חkachH3947thisH2088cupכּ֨וֹסKosH3563of the wineהַיַּ֧יִןhai.Ya.yinH3196of wrathהַחֵמָ֛הha.che.MahH2534from My handמִיָּדִ֑יmi.ya.DiH3027and cause allכָּל־kol-H3605the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֔םha.go.YimH1471to whomאֲשֶׁ֧ר'a.SherH834I sendשֹׁלֵ֥חַsho.Le.achH7971you to drinkוְהִשְׁקִיתָ֤הve.hish.ki.TahH8248it.

16They willdrinkוְשָׁת֕וּve.sha.TuH8354and staggerוְהִֽתְגֹּֽעֲשׁ֖וּve.hit.go.'a.ShuH1607and goH1984madוְהִתְהֹלָ֑לוּve.hit.ho.La.luH1984becauseמִפְּנֵ֣יmi.pe.NeiH4480 H6440of the swordהַחֶ֔רֶבha.Che.revH2719that I will sendשֹׁלֵ֖חַsho.Le.achH7971amongבֵּינֹתָֽם׃bei.no.TamH996them.”

17Then I tookוָאֶקַּ֥חva.'e.KachH3947the cupהַכּ֖וֹסha.KosH3563from the Lord’sיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068handמִיַּ֣דmi.YadH3027andmade allכָּל־kol-H3605the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֔םha.go.YimH1471to whomאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068sentשְׁלָחַ֥נִיshe.la.Cha.niH7971me drinkוָֽאַשְׁקֶה֙va.'ash.KehH8248it:

18Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ye.ru.sha.LimH3389and the citiesעָרֵ֣י'a.ReiH5892of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063and its kingsמְלָכֶ֖יהָme.la.Khei.haH4428andits princesשָׂרֶ֑יהָsa.Rei.haH8269,to makeלָתֵ֨תla.TetH5414them a ruinלְחָרְבָּ֧הle.cha.re.BahH2723,a horrorלְשַׁמָּ֛הle.sha.MahH8047,a hissingלִשְׁרֵקָ֥הlish.re.KahH8322and a curseוְלִקְלָלָ֖הve.lik.la.LahH7045,as it is thisהַזֶּֽה׃ha.ZehH2088dayכַּיּ֥וֹםkai.YomH3117;

23andDedanדְּדָ֤ןde.DanH1719,Temaתֵּימָא֙tei.Ma'H8485,Buzבּ֔וּזBuzH938and allכָּל־kol-H3605whocutקְצוּצֵ֥יke.tzu.TzeiH7112the cornersפֵאָֽה׃fe.'AhH6285of their hair;

24and allכָּל־kol-H3605the kingsמַלְכֵ֣יmal.KheiH4428ofArabiaעֲרָ֑ב'a.RavH6152and allכָּל־kol-H3605the kingsמַלְכֵ֣יmal.KheiH4428of theforeignH6154peopleH6154who dwellהַשֹּׁכְנִ֖יםha.sho.khe.NimH7931in the desertבַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ba.mid.BarH4057;

25and allכָּל־kol-H3605the kingsמַלְכֵ֣יmal.KheiH4428of Zimriזִמְרִ֗יzim.RiH2174,allכָּל־kol-H3605the kingsמַלְכֵ֣יmal.KheiH4428ofElamעֵילָ֔ם'ei.LamH5867and allכָּל־kol-H3605the kingsמַלְכֵ֥יmal.KheiH4428ofMediaמָדָֽי׃ma.DaiH4074;

26and allכָּל־kol-H3605the kingsמַלְכֵ֣יmal.KheiH4428of the northהַצָּפ֗וֹןha.tza.FonH6828,nearהַקְּרֹבִ֤יםha.ke.ro.VimH7138and farוְהָֽרְחֹקִים֙ve.ha.re.cho.KimH7350,oneאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376with anotherאָחִ֔יו'a.ChivH251; andallכָּל־kol-H3605the kingdomsהַמַּמְלְכ֣וֹתha.mam.le.KhotH4467of the earthהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776whichאֲשֶׁ֖ר'a.SherH834are upon the faceפְּנֵ֣יpe.NeiH6440of the groundהָאֲדָמָ֑הha.'a.da.MahH127,and the kingוּמֶ֥לֶךְu.Me.lekhH4428ofSheshachשֵׁשַׁ֖ךְshe.ShakhH8347shall drinkיִשְׁתֶּ֥הyish.TehH8354afterאַחֲרֵיהֶֽם׃'a.cha.rei.HemH310them.

27“You shall sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֣ve.'a.mar.TaH559to them, ‘Thusכֹּֽה־koh-H3541saysאָמַר֩'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֨הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֜וֹתtze.va.'otH6635,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478, “Drinkשְׁת֤וּshe.TuH8354,be drunkוְשִׁכְרוּ֙ve.shikh.RuH7937,vomitוּקְי֔וּu.ke.YuH7006,fallוְנִפְל֖וּve.nif.LuH5307and riseתָק֑וּמוּta.Ku.muH6965noוְלֹ֣אve.Lo'H3808more becauseמִפְּנֵ֣יmi.pe.NeiH4480 H6440of theswordהַחֶ֔רֶבha.Che.revH2719whichאֲשֶׁ֛ר'a.SherH834I will sendשֹׁלֵ֖חַsho.Le.achH7971amongבֵּינֵיכֶֽם׃bei.nei.KhemH996you.”’

28And it will be, ifכִּ֧יkiH3588theyrefuseיְמָאֲנ֛וּye.ma.'a.NuH3985to takeלָקַֽחַת־la.ka.chat-H3947the cupהַכּ֥וֹסha.KosH3563from your handמִיָּדְךָ֖mi.ya.de.KhaH3027to drinkלִשְׁתּ֑וֹתlish.TotH8354,then you will sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֣ve.'a.mar.TaH559to them, ‘Thusכֹּ֥הkohH3541saysאָמַ֛ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֖וֹתtze.va.'otH6635: “You shall surelyשָׁת֥וֹsha.ToH8354drinkתִשְׁתּֽוּ׃tish.TuH8354!

29For beholdהִנֵּ֨הhi.NehH2009, I ambeginningמֵחֵ֣לme.ChelH2490to workH7489calamityH7489in thiscityבָעִ֜ירva.'IrH5892whichאֲשֶׁ֧ר'a.SherH834iscalledנִֽקְרָא־nik.ra'-H7121by My nameשְׁמִ֣יshe.MiH8034,and shall you be completelyH5352freeH5352from punishmentH5352?You will not be freeH5352from punishmentH5352; forI am summoningקֹרֵא֙ko.Re'H7121a swordחֶ֗רֶבChe.revH2719againstH5921allכָּל־kol-H3605the inhabitantsיֹשְׁבֵ֣יyo.she.VeiH3427of the earthהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776,”declaresנְאֻ֖םne.'UmH5002the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָאֽוֹת׃tze.va.'otH6635.’

30“Therefore you shall prophesyתִּנָּבֵ֣אti.na.Ve'H5012againstH413them allכָּל־kol-H3605theseהָאֵ֑לֶּהha.'E.lehH428wordsהַדְּבָרִ֖יםha.de.va.RimH1697,and you shall sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֣ve.'a.mar.TaH559to them, ‘TheLordיְהוָ֞הYah.wehH3068willroarיִשְׁאָג֙yish.'AgH7580from on highמִמָּר֤וֹםmi.ma.RomH4791And utterיִתֵּ֣ןyi.TenH5414His voiceקוֹל֔וֹko.LoH6963from His holyקָדְשׁוֹ֙ka.de.ShoH6944habitationוּמִמְּע֤וֹןu.mi.me.'onH4583;He will roarשָׁאֹ֤גsha.'OgH7580mightilyיִשְׁאַג֙yish.'AgH7580againstעַל־'al-H5921Hisfoldנָוֵ֔הוּna.Ve.huH5116.He will shoutהֵידָד֙hei.DadH1959like those who treadכְּדֹרְכִ֣יםke.do.re.KhimH1869the grapes,AgainstH413allכָּל־kol-H3605the inhabitantsיֹשְׁבֵ֖יyo.she.VeiH3427of the earthהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776.

31A clamorשָׁאוֹן֙sha.'OnH7588has comeבָּ֤אba'H935to the endקְצֵ֣הke.TzehH7097of the earthהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776,Becauseכִּ֣יkiH3588the Lordלַֽיהוָה֙la.Yah.wehH3068hasa controversyרִ֤יבrivH7379with the nationsבַּגּוֹיִ֔םba.go.YimH1471.He is enteringנִשְׁפָּ֥טnish.PatH8199intojudgmentH8199with allלְכָל־le.kholH3605fleshבָּשָׂ֑רba.SarH1320;As for the wickedהָרְשָׁעִ֛יםha.re.sha.'ImH7563,He has givenנְתָנָ֥םne.ta.NamH5414them to the swordלַחֶ֖רֶבla.Che.revH2719,’declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָֽה׃ סYah.wehH3068.”
