1OhH4310H5414that my headרֹאשִׁי֙ro.ShiH7218were watersמַ֔יִםMa.yimH4325And my eyesוְעֵינִ֖יve.'ei.NiH5869a fountainמְק֣וֹרme.KorH4726of tearsדִּמְעָ֑הdim.'AhH1832,That I might weepוְאֶבְכֶּה֙ve.'ev.KehH1058dayיוֹמָ֣םyo.MamH3119and nightוָלַ֔יְלָהva.Lay.lahH3915For the slainחַֽלְלֵ֥יcha.LeiH2491of thedaughterבַת־vat-H1323of my peopleH5971!
2Ohמִֽי־mi-H4310that I hadיִתְּנֵ֣נִיyi.te.Ne.niH5414in the desertבַמִּדְבָּ֗רva.mid.BarH4057A wayfarers’אֹֽרְחִ֔ים'o.re.ChimH732lodgingH4411placeמְלוֹן֙me.lOnH4411;That I might leaveוְאֶֽעֶזְבָה֙ve.'e.'ez.VahH5800my peopleעַמִּ֔י'a.MiH5971And goוְאֵלְכָ֖הve.'e.le.KhahH1980from them!For allכֻלָּם֙khu.LamH3605of them areadulterersמְנָ֣אֲפִ֔יםme.Na.'a.FimH5003,An assemblyעֲצֶ֖רֶת'a.Tze.retH6116oftreacherousבֹּגְדִֽים׃bo.ge.DimH898men.
3“Theybendוַֽיַּדְרְכ֤וּvai.yad.re.KhuH1869their tongueלְשׁוֹנָם֙le.sho.NamH3956liketheir bowקַשְׁתָּ֣םkash.TamH7198;Liesשֶׁ֔קֶרShe.kerH8267and not truthלֶאֱמוּנָ֖הle.'e.mu.NahH530prevailגָּבְר֣וּga.ve.RuH1396in the landבָאָ֑רֶץva.'A.retzH776; For theyproceedיָצָ֛אוּya.Tza.'uH3318from evilH7463to evilH7463, And theydo not knowיָדָ֖עוּya.Da.'uH3045Me,” declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָֽה׃ סYah.wehH3068.
4“Let everyoneH376be on guardהִשָּׁמֵ֔רוּhi.sha.Me.ruH8104againstH4480his neighborH7453, Anddo not trustתִּבְטָ֑חוּtiv.Ta.chuH982anyכָּל־kol-H3605brotherאָ֖ח'achH251;Becauseכִּ֤יkiH3588everyכָל־khol-H3605brotherאָח֙'achH251dealsעָק֣וֹבa.KovH6117craftilyיַעְקֹ֔בya'.KoH6117,And everyוְכָל־ve.kholH3605neighborH7453goesיַהֲלֹֽךְ׃ya.ha.LokhH1980about as a slandererרָכִ֥ילra.KhilH7400.
5Everyoneוְאִ֤ישׁve.'IshH376deceivesH8524his neighborבְּרֵעֵ֙הוּ֙be.re.'E.huH7453And does not speakיְדַבֵּ֑רוּye.da.Be.ruH1696the truthוֶאֱמֶ֖תve.'e.MetH571,They have taughtלִמְּד֧וּli.me.DuH3925their tongueלְשׁוֹנָ֛םle.sho.NamH3956to speakדַּבֶּר־da.ber-H1696liesשֶׁ֖קֶרShe.kerH8267; Theywearyנִלְאֽוּ׃nil.'UH3811themselves committingH5753iniquityH5753.
7Thereforeלָכֵ֗ןla.KhenH3651thusכֹּ֤הkohH3541saysאָמַר֙'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֔וֹתtze.va.'otH6635, “BeholdH2009,I will refineצוֹרְפָ֖םtzor.FamH6884them andassayוּבְחַנְתִּ֑יםu.ve.chan.TimH974them; Forwhatאֵ֣יךְ'eikhH349elsecan I doאֶעֱשֶׂ֔ה'e.'e.SehH6213,becauseמִפְּנֵ֖יmi.pe.NeiH4480H6440of the daughterבַּת־bat-H1323of My peopleעַמִּֽי׃'a.MiH5971?
8Theirtongueלְשׁוֹנָ֖םle.sho.NamH3956is a deadlyשָׁח֛וּטsho.chetH7819arrowחֵ֥ץchetzH2671;It speaksדִבֵּ֑רdi.BerH1696deceitמִרְמָ֣הmir.MahH4820;With his mouthבְּפִ֗יוbe.FivH6310onespeaksיְדַבֵּ֔רye.da.BerH1696peaceשָׁל֤וֹםsha.LomH7965to his neighborרֵעֵ֙הוּ֙re.'E.huH7453,But inwardlyוּבְקִרְבּ֖וֹu.ve.kir.BoH7130hesetsיָשִׂ֥יםya.SimH7760an ambushאָרְבּֽוֹ׃'a.re.BoH696for him.
10“For themountainsהֶ֨הָרִ֜יםhe.ha.RimH2022I will takeאֶשָּׂ֧א'e.Sa'H5375up a weepingבְכִ֣יve.KhiH1065and wailingוָנֶ֗הִיva.Ne.hiH5092,And for the pasturesנְא֤וֹתne.'otH4999of thewildernessמִדְבָּר֙mid.BarH4057a dirgeקִינָ֔הki.NahH7015,Becauseכִּ֤יkiH3588they arelaidH5327wasteH5327soמִבְּלִי־mi.be.li-H4480H1097that noמִבְּלִ֖יmi.be.LiH1097oneאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376passesH5674throughH5674,And the lowingק֣וֹלKolH6963of the cattleמִקְנֶ֑הmik.NehH4735is not heardשָׁמְע֖וּsha.me.'UH8085;BothH4480thebirdsמֵע֤וֹףme.'ofH5775of the skyהַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ha.sha.Ma.yimH8064and the beastsבְּהֵמָ֔הbe.he.MahH929have fledנָדְד֖וּna.de.DuH5074;they are goneהָלָֽכוּ׃ha.La.khuH1980.
11I will makeוְנָתַתִּ֧יve.na.ta.TiH5414Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֛םye.ru.sha.LimH3389aheapלְגַלִּ֖יםle.ga.LimH1530of ruins,A hauntמְע֣וֹןme.'onH4583ofjackalsH8565;And I will makeאֶתֵּ֥ן'e.TenH5414the citiesעָרֵ֧י'a.ReiH5892of Judahיְהוּדָ֛הye.hu.DahH3063adesolationשְׁמָמָ֖הshe.ma.MahH8077,withoutH1097inhabitantיוֹשֵֽׁב׃ סyo.ShevH3427.”
12Whoמִֽי־mi-H4310is thewiseהֶֽחָכָם֙he.cha.KhamH2450manהָאִ֤ישׁha.'IshH376that may understandוְיָבֵ֣ןve.ya.VenH995thisH2088? And who ishe to whomH834the mouthפִּֽי־pi-H6310of the LordH3068has spokenדִּבֶּ֧רdi.BerH1696,that he may declareוְיַגִּדָ֑הּve.ya.gi.DahH5046it?Whyמָה֙mahH5921H4100is the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776ruinedאָבְדָ֣ה'a.ve.DahH6,laidH5327wasteH5327like a desertכַמִּדְבָּ֖רkha.mid.BarH4057,soH4480H1097that noH1097oneH1097passesH5674throughH5674?
13The Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Becauseעַל־'al-H5921they haveforsakenעָזְבָם֙'a.ze.VamH5800My lawתּ֣וֹרָתִ֔יto.ra.TiH8451whichH834I setנָתַ֖תִּיna.Ta.tiH5414beforeלִפְנֵיהֶ֑םlif.nei.HemH6440them, and have not obeyedשָׁמְע֥וּsha.me.'UH8085My voiceבְקוֹלִ֖יve.ko.LiH6963norH3808walkedH1980according to it,
15thereforeלָכֵ֗ןla.KhenH3651thusכֹּֽה־koh-H3541saysאָמַ֞ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָאוֹת֙tze.va.'OtH6635,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478, “beholdH2009,I will feedמַאֲכִילָ֛םma.'a.khi.LamH398them, thisהַזֶּ֖הha.ZehH2088peopleהָעָ֥םha.'AmH5971,with wormwoodלַֽעֲנָ֑הla.'a.NahH3939and giveוְהִשְׁקִיתִ֖יםve.hish.ki.TimH8248thempoisonedרֹֽאשׁ׃RoshH7219waterמֵי־mei-H4325to drinkH8248.
16I willscatterוַהֲפִֽצוֹתִים֙va.ha.fi.tzo.TimH6327them among the nationsבַּגּוֹיִ֔םba.go.YimH1471,whomאֲשֶׁר֙'a.SherH834neitherH3808they norH3808their fathersוַֽאֲבוֹתָ֑םva.'a.vo.TamH1have knownיָֽדְע֔וּya.de.'UH3045;and I will sendH7971theswordהַחֶ֔רֶבha.Che.revH2719afterאַֽחֲרֵיהֶם֙'a.cha.rei.HemH310them untilעַ֥ד'adH5704I have annihilatedכַּלּוֹתִ֖יka.lo.TiH3615them.”
17Thusכֹּ֤הkohH3541saysאָמַר֙'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֔וֹתtze.va.'otH6635, “Considerהִתְבּֽוֹנְנ֛וּhit.bo.NuH995and callוְקִרְא֥וּve.kir.'UH7121for themourningH6969womenH6969,that they may comeוּתְבוֹאֶ֑ינָהu.te.vo.'Ei.nahH935;And sendשִׁלְח֖וּshil.ChuH7971for thewailingH2450womenH2450,that they may comeוְתָבֽוֹאנָה׃ve.ta.Vo.nahH935!
18Let them makeH4116hasteH4116and takeוְתִשֶּׂ֥נָהve.ti.Se.nahH5375up a wailingH5092for us, That oureyesעֵינֵ֙ינוּ֙'ei.Nei.nuH5869may shedוְתֵרַ֤דְנָהve.te.Rad.nahH3381tearsדִּמְעָ֔הdim.'AhH1832And our eyelidsוְעַפְעַפֵּ֖ינוּve.'af.'a.Pei.nuH6079flowיִזְּלוּ־yi.ze.lu-H5140with waterמָֽיִם׃Ma.yimH4325.
19For a voiceק֥וֹלKolH6963ofwailingH5092is heardH8085from Zionמִצִּיּ֖וֹןmi.tzi.YonH6726, ‘Howאֵ֣יךְ'eikhH349are we ruinedשֻׁדָּ֑דְנוּshu.Da.de.nuH7703!We are putבֹּ֤שְׁנֽוּBo.she.nuH954to greatמְאֹד֙me.'OdH3966shameH954, For we haveleftעָזַ֣בְנוּ'a.Zav.nuH5800the landאָ֔רֶץ'A.retzH776,BecauseH3588they have castהִשְׁלִ֖יכוּhish.Li.khuH7993downH7993our dwellingsמִשְׁכְּנוֹתֵֽינוּ׃ סmish.ke.no.Tei.nuH4908.’”
20NowH3588hearשְׁמַ֤עְנָהshe.Ma'.nahH8085the wordדְּבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068, O youwomenנָשִׁים֙na.ShimH802,And let your earאָזְנְכֶ֖ם'a.ze.ne.KhemH241receiveוְתִקַּ֥חve.ti.KachH3947the wordדְּבַר־de.var-H1697of His mouthפִּ֑יוPivH6310;Teachוְלַמֵּ֤דְנָהve.la.Me.de.nahH3925your daughtersבְנֽוֹתֵיכֶם֙ve.no.tei.KhemH1323wailingנֶ֔הִיNe.hiH5092,And everyoneוְאִשָּׁ֥הve.'i.ShahH802her neighborרְעוּתָ֖הּre.'u.TahH7468a dirgeקִינָֽה׃ki.NahH7015.
21Fordeathמָ֙וֶת֙ma.vetH4194has comeעָ֤לָה'A.lahH5927up through our windowsבְּחַלּוֹנֵ֔ינוּbe.cha.lo.Nei.nuH2474;It has enteredבָּ֖אba'H935our palacesבְּאַרְמְנוֹתֵ֑ינוּbe.'ar.me.no.Tei.nuH759To cutלְהַכְרִ֤יתle.hakh.RitH3772offH3772thechildrenעוֹלָל֙o.LalH5768from the streetsמִח֔וּץmi.ChutzH2351,The youngבַּחוּרִ֖יםba.chu.RimH970menH970from the townH7339squaresH7339.
22Speakדַּבֵּ֗רda.BerH1696, “ThusH3541saysנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the LordH3068, ‘The corpsesנִבְלַ֣תniv.LatH5038of menהָֽאָדָ֔םha.'a.DamH120will fallוְנָֽפְלָה֙ve.na.fe.LahH5307like dungכְּדֹ֖מֶןke.Do.menH1828on the openפְּנֵ֣יpe.NeiH6440fieldהַשָּׂדֶ֑הha.sa.DehH7704,And like the sheafוּכְעָמִ֛ירu.khe.'a.MirH5995afterמֵאַחֲרֵ֥יme.'a.cha.ReiH4480H310the reaperהַקֹּצֵ֖רha.ko.TzerH7114,But noH369oneH369will gatherמְאַסֵּֽף׃ סme.'a.SefH622them.’”
23Thusכֹּ֣ה׀kohH3541saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559the LordH3068, “Let not a wiseחָכָם֙cha.KhamH2450manH2450boastH1984of his wisdomבְּחָכְמָת֔וֹbe.cha.khe.ma.ToH2451, and let not themightyהַגִּבּ֖וֹרha.gi.BorH1368manH1368boastH1984of his mightבִּגְבֽוּרָת֑וֹbig.vu.ra.ToH1369, let not arichעָשִׁ֖יר'a.ShirH6223manH6223boastH1984of his richesבְּעָשְׁרֽוֹ׃be.'a.she.RoH6239;
24but let him who boastsיִתְהַלֵּ֣לyit.ha.LelH1984boastהַמִּתְהַלֵּ֗לha.mit.ha.LelH1984of thisH2088,that he understandsהַשְׂכֵּל֮has.KelH7919and knowsוְיָדֹ֣עַve.ya.Do.a'H3045Me, that I am the LordH3068whoexercisesעֹ֥שֶׂה'O.sehH6213lovingkindnessחֶ֛סֶדChe.sedH2617,justiceמִשְׁפָּ֥טmish.PatH4941and righteousnessוּצְדָקָ֖הu.tze.da.KahH6666on earthבָּאָ֑רֶץba.'A.retzH776; for Idelightחָפַ֖צְתִּיcha.Fatz.tiH2654in theseH428thingsבְאֵ֥לֶּהve.'E.lehH428,”declaresH5002the LordH3068.
26Egyptמִצְרַ֣יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714and Judahיְהוּדָ֗הye.hu.DahH3063,and EdomH112and the sonsבְּנֵ֤יbe.NeiH1121of Ammonעַמּוֹן֙'a.mOnH5983,and Moabמוֹאָ֔בmo.'AvH4124andallכָּל־kol-H3605those inhabitingהַיֹּשְׁבִ֖יםhai.yo.she.VimH3427the desertבַּמִּדְבָּ֑רba.mid.BarH4057who clipקְצוּצֵ֣יke.tzu.TzeiH7112the hair on their templesפֵאָ֔הfe.'AhH6285;for allכָל־khol-H3605the nationsהַגּוֹיִם֙ha.go.YimH1471are uncircumcisedעֲרֵלִ֔ים'a.re.LimH6189,and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478areuncircumcisedעַרְלֵי־'ar.lei-H6189of heartלֵֽב׃ סLevH3820.”
