1The wordדְבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068also cameוַיְהִ֥יvay.HiH1961to me sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

2“You shall not take a wifeאִשָּׁ֑ה'i.ShahH802for yourself norH3808haveיִהְי֤וּyih.YuH1961sonsבָּנִ֣יםba.NimH1121or daughtersוּבָנ֔וֹתu.va.NotH1323in thisהַזֶּֽה׃ha.ZehH2088placeבַּמָּק֖וֹםba.ma.KomH4725.”

3For thusכֹ֣ה׀khohH3541saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068concerningH5921the sonsהַבָּנִים֙ha.ba.NimH1121and daughtersהַבָּנ֔וֹתha.ba.NotH1323bornהַיִּלּוֹדִ֖יםhai.yi.lo.DimH3209in thisH2088placeבַּמָּק֣וֹםba.ma.KomH4725,and concerningH5921theirmothersאִמֹּתָ֞ם'i.mo.TamH517who bearהַיֹּלְד֣וֹתhai.yo.le.DotH3205them, and theirfathersאֲבוֹתָ֛ם'a.vo.TamH1who begetהַמּוֹלִדִ֥יםha.mo.li.DimH3205them in thisH2088landבָּאָ֥רֶץba.'A.retzH776:

4“They willdieיָמֻ֗תוּya.Mu.tuH4191of deadlyמְמוֹתֵ֨יme.mo.TeiH4463diseasesתַחֲלֻאִ֜יםta.cha.lu.'ImH8463, theywill not be lamentedיִסָּֽפְדוּ֙yi.sa.fe.DuH5594or buriedיִקָּבֵ֔רוּyi.ka.Ve.ruH6912; they will be asdungלְדֹ֛מֶןle.Do.menH1828on the surfaceפְּנֵ֥יpe.NeiH6440of the groundהָאֲדָמָ֖הha.'a.da.MahH127and comeיִכְל֔וּyikh.LuH3615to an endH3615by swordוּבַחֶ֤רֶבu.va.Che.revH2719and famineוּבָֽרָעָב֙u.va.ra.'AvH7458,and their carcassesנִבְלָתָם֙niv.la.TamH5038will becomeH1961foodלְמַאֲכָ֔לle.ma.'a.KhalH3978for thebirdsלְע֥וֹףle.'ofH5775of the skyהַשָּׁמַ֖יִםha.sha.Ma.yimH8064and for the beastsוּלְבֶהֱמַ֥תu.le.ve.he.MatH929of the earthהָאָֽרֶץ׃ סha.'A.retzH776.”

5For thusכֹ֣ה׀khohH3541saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068, “Do not enterתָּבוֹא֙ta.Vo'H935a houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004ofmourningמַרְזֵ֔חַmar.Ze.achH4798,or goתֵּלֵ֣ךְte.LekhH1980to lamentלִסְפּ֔וֹדlis.PodH5594or to consoleתָּנֹ֖דta.NodH5110them; for I havewithdrawnאָסַ֨פְתִּי'a.Saf.tiH622My peaceשְׁלוֹמִ֜יshe.lo.MiH7965from thisהַזֶּה֙ha.ZehH2088peopleהָעָ֤ם־ha.'Am-H5971,”declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068, “Mylovingkindnessהַחֶ֖סֶדha.Che.sedH2617and compassionהָֽרַחֲמִֽים׃Ha.ra.cha.MimH7356.

6Bothgreatגְדֹלִ֧יםge.do.LimH1419menH1419and smallוּקְטַנִּ֛יםu.ke.ta.NimH6996will dieוּמֵ֨תוּu.Me.tuH4191in thisH2088landבָּאָ֥רֶץba.'A.retzH776;they will not be buriedיִקָּבֵ֑רוּyi.ka.Ve.ruH6912,they will not be lamentedיִסְפְּד֣וּyis.pe.DuH5594,norH3808will anyonegashיִתְגֹּדַ֔דyit.go.DadH1413himself orshaveH7139his headH7139for them.

7Men will notbreakיִפְרְס֥וּyif.re.SuH6536breadin mourningאֵ֖בֶל'E.velH60for them, to comfortלְנַחֲמ֣וֹle.na.cha.MoH5162anyone for the deadמֵ֑תMetH4191,norH3808giveיַשְׁק֤וּyash.KuH8248them a cupכּ֣וֹסKosH3563of consolationתַּנְחוּמִ֔יםtan.chu.MimH8575to drinkH8248for anyone’s fatherאָבִ֖יו'a.VivH1or motherאִמּֽוֹ׃'i.MoH517.

8Moreover you shallnot goתָב֖וֹאta.Vo'H935into a houseוּבֵית־u.veit-H1004of feastingמִשְׁתֶּ֥הmish.TehH4960to sitלָשֶׁ֣בֶתla.She.vetH3427with them to eatלֶאֱכֹ֖לle.'e.KholH398and drinkוְלִשְׁתּֽוֹת׃ סve.lish.TotH8354.”

9For thusכֹ֨הkhohH3541saysאָמַ֜ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָאוֹת֙tze.va.'OtH6635,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478: “BeholdH2009, I am going toeliminateמַשְׁבִּ֜יתmash.BitH7673from thisהַזֶּ֛הha.ZehH2088placeהַמָּק֥וֹםha.ma.KomH4725,before your eyesלְעֵינֵיכֶ֖םle.'ei.nei.KhemH5869and in your timeוּבִֽימֵיכֶ֑םu.vi.mei.KhemH3117,the voiceק֤וֹלKolH6963of rejoicingשָׂשׂוֹן֙sa.sOnH8342and the voiceוְק֣וֹלve.KolH6963of gladnessשִׂמְחָ֔הsim.ChahH8057,the voiceק֥וֹלKolH6963of the groomחָתָ֖ןcha.TanH2860and the voiceוְק֥וֹלve.KolH6963of the brideכַּלָּֽה׃ka.LahH3618.

10“Now whenכִּ֤יkiH3588you tellתַגִּיד֙ta.GidH5046thisH2088peopleלָעָ֣םla.'AmH5971allכָּל־kol-H3605theseהָאֵ֑לֶּהha.'E.lehH428wordsהַדְּבָרִ֖יםha.de.va.RimH1697,they will sayוְאָמְר֣וּve.'a.me.RuH559to you, ‘For whatH4100reasonעַל־'al-H5921 H4100has the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068declaredדִבֶּ֨רdi.BerH1696allכָּל־kol-H3605thisH2088greatהַגְּדוֹלָה֙ha.ge.do.LahH1419calamityH7463againstעָלֵ֙ינוּ֙'a.Lei.nuH5921us? And whatH4100is our iniquityעֲוֹנֵ֙נוּ֙'a.vo.Ne.nuH5771,or whatH4100is our sinחַטָּאתֵ֔נוּcha.ta.Te.nuH2403whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834we have committedחָטָ֖אנוּcha.Ta.nuH2398against the Lordלַֽיהוָ֥הla.Yah.wehH3068our Godאֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃'e.lo.Hei.nuH430?’

11Then you are to sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֣ve.'a.mar.TaH559to them, ‘It isbecauseעַל֩ אֲשֶׁר־'al 'a.Sher-H5921 H834your forefathersאֲבוֹתֵיכֶ֤ם'a.vo.tei.KhemH1have forsakenעָזְב֨וּ'a.ze.VuH5800Me,’ declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068, ‘and have followedוַיֵּלְכ֗וּ אַֽחֲרֵי֙vai.ye.le.Khu 'a.cha.ReiH1980 H310otherאֲחֵרִ֔ים'a.che.RimH312godsאֱלֹהִ֣ים'E.lo.HimH430and servedוַיַּעַבְד֖וּםvai.ya.'av.DumH5647them and bowedH7812downוַיִּשְׁתַּחֲו֣וּvai.yish.ta.cha.VuH7812to them; but Me they have forsakenעָזָ֔בוּ'a.Za.vuH5800and have not keptשָׁמָֽרוּ׃sha.Ma.ruH8104My lawתּוֹרָתִ֖יto.ra.TiH8451.

12You too have doneלַעֲשׂ֖וֹתla.'a.SotH6213evilH7451, evenmoreH4480thanH4480your forefathersמֵאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֑םme.'a.vo.tei.KhemH1;for beholdH2009,you are eachH376oneH376walkingהֹלְכִ֗יםho.le.KhimH1980accordingאַֽחֲרֵי֙'a.cha.ReiH310to thestubbornnessשְׁרִר֣וּתshe.ri.RutH8307of his ownevilH7451heartלִבּֽוֹ־li.bov-H3820,withoutלְבִלְתִּ֖יle.vil.TiH1115listeningשְׁמֹ֥עַshe.Mo.a'H8085to Me.

13So I willhurlוְהֵטַלְתִּ֣יve.he.tal.TiH2904you out of thisH2088landהָאָ֣רֶץha.'A.retzH776into thelandהָאָ֕רֶץha.'A.retzH776whichH834you have not knownיְדַעְתֶּ֔םye.da'.TemH3045,neither you norלֹ֣אlo'H3808your fathersוַאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֑םva.'a.vo.tei.KhemH1;and thereשָׁ֞םshamH8033you willserveוַעֲבַדְתֶּם־va.'a.vad.tem-H5647otherאֲחֵרִים֙'a.che.RimH312godsאֱלֹהִ֤ים'E.lo.HimH430dayיוֹמָ֣םyo.MamH3119and nightוָלַ֔יְלָהva.Lay.lahH3915,for I will grantאֶתֵּ֥ן'e.TenH5414you noלֹֽא־lo'-H3808favorחֲנִינָֽה׃ סcha.ni.NahH2594.’

14“Thereforeלָכֵ֛ןla.KhenH3651beholdהִנֵּֽה־hi.neh-H2009,daysיָמִ֥יםya.MimH3117are comingבָּאִ֖יםba.'ImH935,”declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068, “when it will noוְלֹֽא־ve.lo'-H3808longerעוֹד֙'OdH5750be saidיֵאָמֵ֥רye.'a.MerH559, ‘As the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068livesחַי־chai-H2416,whoאֲשֶׁ֧ר'a.SherH834broughtהֶעֱלָ֛הhe.'e.LahH5927up the sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478out of the landמֵאֶ֥רֶץme.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָֽיִם׃mitz.Ra.yimH4714,’

15but, ‘As the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068livesחַי־chai-H2416,whoאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834broughtהֶעֱלָ֜הhe.'e.LahH5927up the sonsבְּנֵ֤יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478from thelandמֵאֶ֣רֶץme.'E.retzH776of the northצָפ֔וֹןtza.FonH6828and from allוּמִכֹּל֙u.mi.KolH3605the countriesהָֽאֲרָצ֔וֹתha.'a.ra.TzotH776whereאֲשֶׁ֥ר שָׁ֑מָּה'a.Sher Sha.mahH834 H8033He had banishedהִדִּיחָ֖םhi.di.ChamH5080them.’ For I will restoreוַהֲשִֽׁבֹתִים֙va.ha.shi.vo.TimH7725them to their own landאַדְמָתָ֔ם'ad.ma.TamH127whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834I gaveנָתַ֖תִּיna.Ta.tiH5414to their fathersלַאֲבוֹתָֽם׃ סla.'a.vo.TamH1.

16“BeholdH2009,I am going to sendשֹׁלֵ֜חַsho.Le.achH7971for manyרַבִּ֛יםra.BimH7227fishermenH1728,”declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068, “and they will fishוְדִיג֑וּםve.di.GumH1770for them; and afterwardsוְאַֽחֲרֵי־ כֵ֗ןve.'a.cha.rei- KhenH310 H3651I will sendאֶשְׁלַח֙'esh.LachH7971for manyלְרַבִּ֣יםle.ra.BimH7227huntersצַיָּדִ֔יםtzai.ya.DimH6719, and they willhuntוְצָד֞וּםve.tza.DumH6679themfrom everyכָּל־kol-H3605mountainהַר֙harH2022and everyכָּל־kol-H3605hillגִּבְעָ֔הgiv.'AhH1389and from the cleftsוּמִנְּקִיקֵ֖יu.mi.ne.ki.KeiH5357of the rocksהַסְּלָעִֽים׃ha.se.la.'ImH5553.

17For My eyesעֵינַי֙'ei.NaiH5869are on allכָּל־kol-H3605their waysדַּרְכֵיהֶ֔םdar.khei.HemH1870;they are not hiddenנִסְתְּר֖וּnis.te.RuH5641from My faceמִלְּפָנָ֑יmi.le.fa.NaiH6440,norH3808is their iniquityעֲוֹנָ֖ם'a.vo.NamH5771concealedנִצְפַּ֥ןnitz.PanH6845from My eyesעֵינָֽי׃'ei.NaiH5869.

18I will firstרִֽאשׁוֹנָ֗הri.sho.NahH7223doublyמִשְׁנֵ֤הmish.NehH4932repayוְשִׁלַּמְתִּ֣יve.shi.lam.TiH7999their iniquityעֲוֹנָם֙'a.vo.NamH5771and their sinוְחַטָּאתָ֔םve.cha.ta.TamH2403,becauseעַ֖ל'alH5921they havepollutedחַלְּלָ֣םcha.le.LamH2490My landאַרְצִ֑י'ar.TziH776;they have filledמָלְא֖וּmal.'UH4390My inheritanceנַחֲלָתִֽי׃ סna.cha.la.TiH5159with the carcassesבְּנִבְלַ֤תbe.niv.LatH5038of theirdetestableשִׁקּֽוּצֵיהֶם֙shi.ku.tzei.HemH8251idolsH8251and with their abominationsוְתוֹעֲב֣וֹתֵיהֶ֔םve.to.'a.Vo.tei.HemH8441.”

19O Lordיְהוָ֞הYah.wehH3068, mystrengthעֻזִּ֧י'u.ZiH5797and my strongholdוּמָעֻזִּ֛יu.ma.'u.ZiH4581, And myrefugeוּמְנוּסִ֖יu.me.nu.SiH4498in the dayבְּי֣וֹםbe.YomH3117of distressצָרָ֑הtza.RahH6869, To You thenationsגּוֹיִ֤םgo.YimH1471will comeיָבֹ֙אוּ֙ya.Vo.'uH935From the endsמֵֽאַפְסֵי־me.'af.sei-H657of the earthאָ֔רֶץ'A.retzH776and sayוְיֹאמְר֗וּve.yo.me.RuH559, “Our fathersאֲבוֹתֵ֔ינוּ'a.vo.Tei.nuH1have inheritedנָחֲל֣וּna.cha.LuH5157nothingאַךְ־'akh-H389butfalsehoodשֶׁ֙קֶר֙she.kerH8267,Futilityהֶ֖בֶלHe.velH1892andthingsH3276of noוְאֵֽין־ve.'ein-H369profitמוֹעִֽיל׃mo.'IlH3276.”

20Can manאָדָ֖ם'a.DamH120makeהֲיַעֲשֶׂה־ha.ya.'a.seh-H6213godsאֱלֹהִ֑ים'E.lo.HimH430for himself? Yet they arenot godsאֱלֹהִֽים׃'E.lo.HimH430!

21“Thereforeלָכֵן֙la.KhenH3651beholdH2009,I am going to make them knowמֽוֹדִיעָ֔םmo.di.'AmH3045--ThisH2088timeבַּפַּ֣עַםba.Pa.'amH6471I willmake them knowאוֹדִיעֵ֥ם'o.di.'EmH3045Mypowerיָדִ֖יya.DiH3027and My mightגְּבֽוּרָתִ֑יge.vu.ra.TiH1369; And they shallknowוְיָדְע֖וּve.ya.de.'UH3045that My nameשְׁמִ֥יshe.MiH8034is the Lordיְהוָֽה׃ סYah.wehH3068.”
