2And it shall come to pass, if they sayיֹאמְר֥וּyo.me.RuH559unto thee, Whither shall we go forthנֵצֵ֑אne.Tze'H3318?then thou shalt tellוְאָמַרְתָּ֨ve.'a.mar.TaH559them, Thus saithאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559Yhwhיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068; Such as arefor deathלַמָּ֤וֶתla.Ma.vetH4194,to deathלַמָּ֙וֶת֙la.Ma.vetH4194; and such as arefor the swordלַחֶ֙רֶב֙la.Che.revH2719,to the swordלַחֶ֔רֶבla.Che.revH2719; and such as arefor the famineלָֽרָעָב֙la.ra.'AvH7458,to the famineלָֽרָעָ֔בla.ra.'AvH7458; and such as arefor the captivityלַשְּׁבִ֖יla.she.ViH7628,to the captivityלַשֶּֽׁבִי׃la.She.viH7628.

3And I will appointוּפָקַדְתִּ֨יu.fa.kad.TiH6485over them fourאַרְבַּ֤ע'ar.Ba'H702kindsמִשְׁפָּחוֹת֙mish.pa.chOtH4940,saithנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002Yhwhיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068:the swordהַחֶ֣רֶבha.Che.revH2719to slayלַֽהֲרֹ֔גla.ha.RogH2026,and the dogsהַכְּלָבִ֖יםha.ke.la.VimH3611to tearלִסְחֹ֑בlis.ChoH5498,and the fowlsע֧וֹףofH5775of the heavenהַשָּׁמַ֛יִםha.sha.Ma.yimH8064,and the beastsבֶּהֱמַ֥תbe.he.MatH929of the earthהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776,to devourלֶאֱכֹ֥לle.'e.KholH398and destroyוּלְהַשְׁחִֽית׃u.le.hash.ChitH7843.

4And I will causeוּנְתַתִּ֣יםu.ne.ta.TimH5414them to be removedלְזַֽעֲוָ֔הliz.va.'ahH2113 H2189into all kingdomsמַמְלְכ֣וֹתmam.le.KhotH4467of the earthהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776,becauseבִּ֠גְלַלBig.lalH1558of Manassehמְנַשֶּׁ֤הme.na.ShehH4519the sonבֶן־ven-H1121of HezekiahH3169kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063, for thatwhich he didעָשָׂ֖ה'a.SahH6213in Jerusalemבִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃bi.ru.sha.LimH3389.

5For who shall have pityיַחְמֹ֤לyach.MolH2550upon thee, O Jerusalemיְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔םye.Ru.sha.LimH3389?or who shall bemoanיָנ֣וּדya.NudH5110thee? or who shall go asideיָס֔וּרya.SurH5493to askלִשְׁאֹ֥לlish.'OlH7592how thou doestלְשָׁלֹ֖םle.sha.LomH7965?

6Thou hast forsakenנָטַ֥שְׁתְּna.TashtH5203me, saithנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002Yhwhיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,thou art goneH3212backwardאָח֣וֹר'a.ChorH268:therefore will I stretch outוָאַ֨טva.'AtH5186my handיָדִ֤יya.DiH3027against thee, and destroyוָֽאַשְׁחִיתֵ֔ךְva.'ash.chi.TekhH7843thee; I am wearyנִלְאֵ֖יתִיnil.'Ei.tiH3811with repentingהִנָּחֵֽם׃hi.na.ChemH5162.

7And I will fanוָאֶזְרֵ֥םva.'ez.RemH2219them with a fanבְּמִזְרֶ֖הbe.miz.RehH4214in the gatesבְּשַׁעֲרֵ֣יbe.sha.'a.ReiH8179of the landהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776;I will bereaveשִׁכַּ֤לְתִּיshi.Kal.tiH7921themof children, I will destroyאִבַּ֙דְתִּי֙'i.Bad.tiH6my peopleעַמִּ֔י'a.MiH5971, sincethey returnשָֽׁבוּ׃Sha.vuH7725not from their waysמִדַּרְכֵיהֶ֖םmi.dar.khei.HemH1870.

8Their widowsאַלְמְנֹתָיו֙'al.me.no.TavH490are increasedעָֽצְמוּ־'a.tze.mu-H6105to me above the sandמֵח֣וֹלme.CholH2344of the seasיַמִּ֔יםya.MimH3220:I have broughtהֵבֵ֨אתִיhe.Ve.tiH935upon them against the motherאֵ֛ם'emH517of the young menבָּח֖וּרba.ChurH970a spoilerשֹׁדֵ֣דsho.DedH7703at noondayבַּֽצָּהֳרָ֑יִםba.tzo.ho.Ra.yimH6672: I have caused himto fallהִפַּ֤לְתִּיhi.Pal.tiH5307upon it suddenlyפִּתְאֹ֔םpit.'OmH6597,and terrorsוּבֶהָלֽוֹת׃u.ve.ha.LotH928upon the cityעִ֖יר'irH5892.

10Woeאֽוֹי־'o-H188is me, my motherאִמִּ֔י'i.MiH517,that thou hast borneיְלִדְתִּ֗נִיye.lid.Ti.niH3205me a manאִ֥ישׁ'ishH376of strifeרִ֛יבrivH7379and a manוְאִ֥ישׁve.'IshH376of contentionמָד֖וֹןma.DonH4066to the whole earthהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776!I have neither lent on usuryנָשִׁ֥יתִיna.Shi.tiH5383,nor men have lent to me on usuryנָֽשׁוּ־na.shu-H5383; yetevery one of them doth curseמְקַלְלַֽונִי׃ סme.ka.La.v.niH7043me.

11Yhwhיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068saidאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559,Verilyאִם־'im-H518 H3808it shall be wellלְט֑וֹבle.TovH2896with thy remnantשֵֽׁרִיתִ֖יךָsha.ro.ti.khaH8293 H8281;verilyאִם־'im-H518I will cause the enemyהָאֹיֵֽב׃ha.'o.YevH341to entreatהִפְגַּ֣עְתִּֽיhif.Ga'.tiH6293thee wellin the timeבְּעֵ֥ת־be.'Et-H6256of evilרָעָ֛הra.'AhH7451and in the timeוּבְעֵ֥תu.ve.'EtH6256of afflictionצָרָ֖הtza.RahH6869.

12Shall ironבַּרְזֶ֧ל׀bar.ZelH1270breakהֲיָרֹ֨עַha.ya.Ro.a'H7489the northernמִצָּפ֖וֹןmi.tza.FonH6828ironבַּרְזֶ֛לbar.ZelH1270and the steelוּנְחֹֽשֶׁת׃u.ne.Cho.shetH5178?

13Thy substanceחֵילְךָ֧chei.le.KhaH2428and thy treasuresוְאוֹצְרוֹתֶ֛יךָve.'otz.ro.Tei.khaH214will I giveאֶתֵּ֖ן'e.TenH5414to the spoilלָבַ֥זla.VazH957without priceבִמְחִ֑ירvim.ChirH4242, and thatfor all thy sinsחַטֹּאותֶ֖יךָcha.to.Tei.khaH2403,even in all thy bordersגְּבוּלֶֽיךָ׃ge.vu.Lei.khaH1366.

14And I will make theeto passוְהַֽעֲבַרְתִּי֙ve.ha.'a.var.TiH5674with thine enemiesאֹ֣יְבֶ֔יךָ'o.ye.Vei.khaH341into a landבְּאֶ֖רֶץbe.'E.retzH776whichthou knowestיָדָ֑עְתָּya.Da.'e.taH3045not: for a fireאֵ֛שׁ'eshH784is kindledקָדְחָ֥הka.de.ChahH6919in mine angerבְאַפִּ֖יve.'a.PiH639, whichshall burnתּוּקָֽד׃ סtu.KadH3344upon you.

17I satיָשַׁ֥בְתִּיya.Shav.tiH3427not in the assemblyבְסוֹד־ve.sod-H5475of the mockersמְשַׂחֲקִ֖יםme.sa.cha.KimH7832,nor rejoicedוָֽאֶעְלֹ֑זva.'e'.LozH5937;I satיָשַׁ֔בְתִּיya.Shav.tiH3427aloneבָּדָ֣דba.DadH910becauseמִפְּנֵ֤יmi.pe.NeiH6440of thy handיָֽדְךָ֙ya.de.KhaH3027:for thou hast filledמִלֵּאתָֽנִי׃ סmi.le.Ta.niH4390me with indignationזַ֖עַםZa.'amH2195.

19Therefore thus saithאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559Yhwhיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068,If thou returnתָּשׁ֤וּבta.ShuvH7725,then will I bring thee againוַאֲשִֽׁיבְךָ֙va.'a.shi.ve.KhaH7725, andthou shalt standתַּֽעֲמֹ֔דta.'a.ModH5975beforeלְפָנַ֣יle.fa.NaiH6440me: and if thou take forthתּוֹצִ֥יאto.Tzi'H3318the preciousיָקָ֛רya.KarH3368from the vileמִזּוֹלֵ֖לmi.zo.LelH2151,thou shalt be as my mouthכְּפִ֣יke.FiH6310:let them returnיָשֻׁ֤בוּya.Shu.vuH7725unto thee; but returnתָשׁ֥וּבta.ShuvH7725not thou unto them.

20And I will makeוּנְתַתִּ֜יךָu.ne.ta.Ti.khaH5414thee unto this peopleלָעָ֣םla.'AmH5971a fencedבְּצוּרָ֔הbe.tzu.RahH1219brasenנְחֹ֙שֶׁת֙ne.Cho.shetH5178wallלְחוֹמַ֤תle.cho.MatH2346:and they shall fightוְנִלְחֲמ֥וּve.nil.cha.MuH3898against thee, but they shall not prevailי֣וּכְלוּYu.khe.luH3201against thee: for I amwith thee to saveלְהוֹשִֽׁיעֲךָ֥le.ho.shi.'a.KhaH3467thee and to deliverוּלְהַצִּילֶ֖ךָu.le.ha.tzi.Le.khaH5337thee, saithנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002Yhwhיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

21And I will deliverוְהִצַּלְתִּ֖יךָve.hi.tzal.Ti.khaH5337thee out of the handמִיַּ֣דmi.YadH3027of the wickedרָעִ֑יםra.'ImH7451,and I will redeemוּפְדִתִ֖יךָu.fe.di.Ti.khaH6299thee out of the handמִכַּ֥ףmi.KafH3709of the terribleעָרִצִֽים׃ פ'a.ri.TzimH6184.
