1Thusכֹּֽה־koh-H3541the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068saidאָמַ֨ר'a.MarH559to me, “Goהָל֞וֹךְha.LokhH1980andbuyוְקָנִ֤יתָve.ka.Ni.taH7069yourself a linenפִּשְׁתִּ֔יםpish.TimH6593waistbandאֵז֣וֹר'e.ZorH232and putוְשַׂמְתּ֖וֹve.sam.ToH7760it aroundעַל־'al-H5921your waistמָתְנֶ֑יךָma.te.Nei.khaH4975,but do not putתְבִאֵֽהוּ׃te.vi.'E.huH935it in waterוּבַמַּ֖יִםu.va.Ma.yimH4325.”

2So I boughtוָאֶקְנֶ֥הva.'ek.NehH7069the waistbandהָאֵז֖וֹרha.'e.ZorH232in accordance with thewordכִּדְבַ֣רkid.VarH1697of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068and putוָאָשִׂ֖םva.'a.SimH7760it aroundעַל־'al-H5921my waistמָתְנָֽי׃ סma.te.NaiH4975.

3Then the wordדְבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068cameוַיְהִ֧יvay.HiH1961to me a secondשֵׁנִ֥יתshe.NitH8145timeH8145,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

4“Takeקַ֧חkachH3947the waistbandהָאֵז֛וֹרha.'e.ZorH232that you have boughtקָנִ֖יתָka.Ni.taH7069,whichH834is aroundעַל־'al-H5921your waistמָתְנֶ֑יךָma.te.Nei.khaH4975,and ariseוְקוּם֙ve.KumH6965,goלֵ֣ךְlekhH1980to theEuphratesפְּרָ֔תָהpe.Ra.tahH6578and hideוְטָמְנֵ֥הוּve.ta.me.Ne.huH2934it thereשָׁ֖םshamH8033in a creviceבִּנְקִ֥יקbin.KikH5357of the rockהַסָּֽלַע׃ha.Sa.la'H5553.”

5So I wentוָאֵלֵ֕ךְva.'e.LekhH1980and hidוָאֶטְמְנֵ֖הוּva.'et.me.Ne.huH2934it by the Euphratesבִּפְרָ֑תbif.RatH6578,as the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068had commandedצִוָּ֥הtzi.VahH6680me.

6AfterH4480manyרַבִּ֑יםra.BimH7227daysיָמִ֣יםya.MimH3117the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to me, “Ariseק֚וּםkumH6965,goלֵ֣ךְlekhH1980to the Euphratesפְּרָ֔תָהpe.Ra.tahH6578and takeוְקַ֤חve.KachH3947from thereמִשָּׁם֙mi.ShamH8033the waistbandהָ֣אֵז֔וֹרha.'e.ZorH232whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834I commandedצִוִּיתִ֖יךָtzi.vi.Ti.khaH6680you to hideלְטָמְנוֹ־le.ta.me.nov-H2934thereשָֽׁם׃ShamH8033.”

7Then I wentוָאֵלֵ֣ךְva.'e.LekhH1980to the Euphratesפְּרָ֔תָהpe.Ra.tahH6578and dugוָאֶחְפֹּ֗רva.'ech.PorH2658,and I tookוָֽאֶקַּח֙va.'e.KachH3947the waistbandהָ֣אֵז֔וֹרha.'e.ZorH232from the placeהַמָּק֖וֹםha.ma.KomH4725whereאֲשֶׁר־ שָׁ֑מָּה'a.Sher- Sha.mahH834 H8033I had hiddenטְמַנְתִּ֣יוte.man.TivH2934it; and loוְהִנֵּה֙ve.hi.NehH2009,the waistbandהָאֵז֔וֹרha.'e.ZorH232was ruinedנִשְׁחַ֣תnish.ChatH7843,it was totallyלַכֹּֽל׃ פla.KolH3605worthlessלֹ֥א יִצְלַ֖חlo' yitz.LachH3808 H6743.

8Then the wordדְבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068cameוַיְהִ֥יvay.HiH1961to me, sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

9“Thusכֹּ֖הkohH3541saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068, ‘JustH3602soH3602will I destroyאַשְׁחִ֞ית'ash.ChitH7843theprideגְּא֧וֹןge.'onH1347of Judahיְהוּדָ֛הye.hu.DahH3063and the greatהָרָֽב׃ha.RavH7227prideגְּא֥וֹןge.'onH1347of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֖םye.ru.sha.LimH3389.

10Thisהַזֶּ֨הha.ZehH2088wickedהָרָ֜עha.Ra'H7451peopleהָעָם֩ha.'AmH5971,whoH3987refuseH3987to listenלִשְׁמ֣וֹעַlish.Mo.a'H8085to My wordsדְּבָרַ֗יde.va.RaiH1697, whowalkהַהֹֽלְכִים֙ha.ho.le.KhimH1980in the stubbornnessבִּשְׁרִר֣וּתbish.ri.RutH8307of their heartsלִבָּ֔םli.BamH3820and have goneוַיֵּלְכ֗וּvai.ye.le.KhuH1980afterאַֽחֲרֵי֙'a.cha.ReiH310otherאֲחֵרִ֔ים'a.che.RimH312godsאֱלֹהִ֣ים'E.lo.HimH430to serveלְעָבְדָ֖םle.'a.ve.DamH5647them and to bowוּלְהִשְׁתַּחֲוֹ֣תu.le.hish.ta.cha.VotH7812downH7812to them, let them be just like thisהַזֶּ֔הha.ZehH2088waistbandכָּאֵז֣וֹרka.'e.ZorH232whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834is totallyלַכֹּֽל׃la.KolH3605worthlessלֹא־ יִצְלַ֖חlo'- yitz.LachH3808 H6743.

11For as the waistbandהָאֵז֜וֹרha.'e.ZorH232clingsיִדְבַּ֨קyid.BakH1692to the waistמָתְנֵי־ma.te.nei-H4975of a manאִ֗ישׁ'IshH376,soכֵּ֣ןkenH3651I made the wholeכָּל־kol-H3605householdבֵּ֨יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֜לYis.ra.'ElH3478and the wholeכָּל־kol-H3605householdבֵּ֤יתbeitH1004of Judahיְהוּדָה֙ye.hu.DahH3063clingהִדְבַּ֣קְתִּיhid.Bak.tiH1692to Me,’ declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068, ‘that they might be for Me a peopleלְעָ֔םle.'AmH5971, forrenownוּלְשֵׁ֥םu.le.ShemH8034, forpraiseוְלִתְהִלָּ֖הve.lit.hi.LahH8416and for gloryוּלְתִפְאָ֑רֶתu.le.tif.'A.retH8597; but theydid not listenשָׁמֵֽעוּ׃sha.Me.'uH8085.’

12“Therefore you are to speakוְאָמַרְתָּ֨ve.'a.mar.TaH559thisהַזֶּ֗ה סha.ZehH2088wordהַדָּבָ֣רha.da.VarH1697to them, ‘Thusכֹּֽה־koh-H3541saysאָמַ֤ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478, “Everyכָּל־kol-H3605jugנֵ֖בֶלNe.velH5035is to be filledיִמָּ֣לֵאyi.Ma.le'H4390with wineיָ֑יִןYa.yinH3196.”’And when they sayוְאָמְר֣וּve.'a.me.RuH559to you, ‘Do we not veryH3045wellH3045knowH3045that everyכָל־khol-H3605jugנֵ֖בֶלNe.velH5035is to be filledיִמָּ֥לֵאyi.Ma.le'H4390with wineיָֽיִן׃Ya.yinH3196?’

13then sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֨ve.'a.mar.TaH559to them, ‘Thusכֹּֽה־koh-H3541saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068, “BeholdH2009I am about to fillמְמַלֵּ֣אme.ma.Le'H4390allכָּל־kol-H3605the inhabitantsיֹשְׁבֵ֣יyo.she.VeiH3427of thisH2088landהָאָ֪רֶץha.'A.retzH776--the kingsהַמְּלָכִ֣יםha.me.la.KhimH4428that sitהַיֹּשְׁבִים֩hai.yo.she.VimH3427for Davidלְדָוִ֨דle.da.VidH1732on his throneכִּסְא֜וֹkis.'OH3678,the priestsהַכֹּהֲנִ֣יםha.ko.ha.NimH3548,the prophetsהַנְּבִיאִ֗יםha.ne.vi.'ImH5030and allכָּל־kol-H3605the inhabitantsיֹשְׁבֵ֥יyo.she.VeiH3427of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִָ֖םye.ru.sha.LimH3389--withdrunkennessשִׁכָּרֽוֹן׃shi.ka.RonH7943!

14I willdashוְנִפַּצְתִּים֩ve.ni.patz.TimH5310them againstאֶל־'el-H413eachאִ֨ישׁ'ishH376otherאָחִ֜יו'a.ChivH251, both thefathersוְהָאָב֧וֹתve.ha.'a.VotH1and the sonsוְהַבָּנִ֛יםve.ha.ba.NimH1121togetherH3164,”declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068. “I willnot showאֶחְמ֧וֹל'ech.MolH2550pityH2550norH3808be sorryאָח֛וּס'a.ChusH2347norH3808haveH7355compassionאֲרַחֵ֖ם'a.ra.ChemH7355so as not to destroyמֵהַשְׁחִיתָֽם׃ סme.hash.chi.TamH7843them.”’”
