1This is whatכֹּֽה־koh-H3541the LORDיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068saidאָמַ֨ר'a.MarH559to meאֵלַ֗י'e.LaiH413: “Goהָל֞וֹךְha.LokhH1980and buyוְקָנִ֤יתָve.ka.Ni.taH7069yourselfa linenפִּשְׁתִּ֔יםpish.TimH6593loinclothאֵז֣וֹר'e.ZorH232and putוְשַׂמְתּ֖וֹve.sam.ToH7760it aroundעַל־'al-H5921your waistמָתְנֶ֑יךָma.te.Nei.khaH4975,but do notלֹ֥אlo'H3808let it touchתְבִאֵֽהוּ׃te.vi.'E.huH935waterוּבַמַּ֖יִםu.va.Ma.yimH4325.”
4“Takeקַ֧חkachH3947אֶת־'et-H853the loinclothהָאֵז֛וֹרha.'e.ZorH232thatאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834you boughtקָנִ֖יתָka.Ni.taH7069אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834and are wearingעַל־ מָתְנֶ֑יךָ'al- ma.te.Nei.khaH5921H4975,and goלֵ֣ךְlekhH1980at onceוְקוּם֙ve.KumH6965to Perathפְּרָ֔תָהpe.Ra.tahH6578and hideוְטָמְנֵ֥הוּve.ta.me.Ne.huH2934it thereשָׁ֖םshamH8033in a creviceבִּנְקִ֥יקbin.KikH5357of the rocksהַסָּֽלַע׃ha.Sa.la'H5553.”
6וַיְהִ֕יvay.HiH1961Manyרַבִּ֑יםra.BimH7227daysיָמִ֣יםya.MimH3117laterמִקֵּ֖ץmi.KetzH7093the LORDיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to meאֵלַ֗י'e.LaiH413, “Ariseק֚וּםkumH6965,goלֵ֣ךְlekhH1980to Perathפְּרָ֔תָהpe.Ra.tahH6578,and getוְקַ֤חve.KachH3947מִשָּׁם֙mi.ShamH8033אֶת־'et-H853the loinclothהָ֣אֵז֔וֹרha.'e.ZorH232thatאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834I commandedצִוִּיתִ֖יךָtzi.vi.Ti.khaH6680you to hideלְטָמְנוֹ־le.ta.me.nov-H2934thereשָֽׁם׃ShamH8033.”
7So I wentוָאֵלֵ֣ךְva.'e.LekhH1980to Perathפְּרָ֔תָהpe.Ra.tahH6578and dug upוָאֶחְפֹּ֗רva.'ech.PorH2658the loinclothהָ֣אֵז֔וֹרha.'e.ZorH232,and I tookוָֽאֶקַּח֙va.'e.KachH3947אֶת־'et-H853it fromמִן־min-H4480the placeהַמָּק֖וֹםha.ma.KomH4725whereאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834I had hidden itטְמַנְתִּ֣יו שָׁ֑מָּהte.man.Tiv Sha.mahH2934H8033.But nowוְהִנֵּה֙ve.hi.NehH2009itהָאֵז֔וֹרha.'e.ZorH232was ruinedנִשְׁחַ֣תnish.ChatH7843—of noלֹ֥אlo'H3808useיִצְלַ֖חyitz.LachH6743at allלַכֹּֽל׃ פla.KolH3605.
9“This is whatכֹּ֖הkohH3541the LORDיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559:In the same wayכָּ֠כָהKa.khahH3602I will ruinאַשְׁחִ֞ית'ash.ChitH7843אֶת־'et-H853the prideגְּא֧וֹןge.'onH1347of Judahיְהוּדָ֛הye.hu.DahH3063andוְאֶת־ve.'EtH853the greatהָרָֽב׃ha.RavH7227prideגְּא֥וֹןge.'onH1347of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֖םye.ru.sha.LimH3389.
10Theseהַזֶּ֨הha.ZehH2088evilהָרָ֜עha.Ra'H7451peopleהָעָם֩ha.'AmH5971,who refuseהַֽמֵּאֲנִ֣ים׀ha.me.'a.NimH3987to listenלִשְׁמ֣וֹעַlish.Mo.a'H8085אֶת־'et-H853to My wordsדְּבָרַ֗יde.va.RaiH1697,who followהַהֹֽלְכִים֙ha.ho.le.KhimH1980the stubbornnessבִּשְׁרִר֣וּתbish.ri.RutH8307of their own heartsלִבָּ֔םli.BamH3820,and who goוַיֵּלְכ֗וּvai.ye.le.KhuH1980afterאַֽחֲרֵי֙'a.cha.ReiH310otherאֲחֵרִ֔ים'a.che.RimH312godsאֱלֹהִ֣ים'E.lo.HimH430to serveלְעָבְדָ֖םle.'a.ve.DamH5647and worshipוּלְהִשְׁתַּחֲוֹ֣תu.le.hish.ta.cha.VotH7812them,they will beוִיהִי֙vi.HiH1961like thisהַזֶּ֔הha.ZehH2088אֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834loinclothכָּאֵז֣וֹרka.'e.ZorH232—of noלֹא־lo'-H3808useיִצְלַ֖חyitz.LachH6743at allלַכֹּֽל׃la.KolH3605.
11Forכִּ֡יkiH3588just asכַּאֲשֶׁר֩ka.'a.SherH834a loinclothהָאֵז֜וֹרha.'e.ZorH232clingsיִדְבַּ֨קyid.BakH1692toאֶל־'el-H413a man’sאִ֗ישׁ'IshH376waistמָתְנֵי־ma.te.nei-H4975,so I have madeכֵּ֣ןkenH3651the wholeכָּל־kol-H3605houseבֵּ֨יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֜לYis.ra.'ElH3478andאֶת־'et-H853the wholeכָּל־kol-H3605houseבֵּ֤יתbeitH1004of Judahיְהוּדָה֙ye.hu.DahH3063clingהִדְבַּ֣קְתִּיhid.Bak.tiH1692to Meאֵ֠לַי'E.laiH413וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853,declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,so that they might beלִֽהְי֥וֹתlih.YotH1961Mypeopleלְעָ֔םle.'AmH5971for My renownוּלְשֵׁ֥םu.le.ShemH8034and praiseוְלִתְהִלָּ֖הve.lit.hi.LahH8416and gloryוּלְתִפְאָ֑רֶתu.le.tif.'A.retH8597.But they did notוְלֹ֖אve.Lo'H3808listenשָׁמֵֽעוּ׃sha.Me.'uH8085.
12Therefore you are to tellוְאָמַרְתָּ֨ve.'a.mar.TaH559themהַזֶּ֗ה סha.ZehH2088thatאֲלֵיהֶ֜ם'a.lei.HemH413אֶת־'et-H853הַדָּבָ֣רha.da.VarH1697this is whatכֹּֽה־koh-H3541the LORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,saysאָמַ֤ר'a.MarH559: ‘Everyכָּל־kol-H3605wineskinנֵ֖בֶלNe.velH5035shall be filledיִמָּ֣לֵאyi.Ma.le'H4390with wineיָ֑יִןYa.yinH3196.’And when they replyוְאָמְר֣וּve.'a.me.RuH559אֵלֶ֔יךָ'e.Lei.khaH413, ‘Don’t weלֹ֣אlo'H3808surelyהֲיָדֹ֙עַ֙ha.ya.Do.a'H3045knowנֵדַ֔עne.Da'H3045thatכִּ֥יkiH3588everyכָל־khol-H3605wineskinנֵ֖בֶלNe.velH5035should be filledיִמָּ֥לֵאyi.Ma.le'H4390with wineיָֽיִן׃Ya.yinH3196?’
13then you are to tellוְאָמַרְתָּ֨ve.'a.mar.TaH559themאֲלֵיהֶ֜ם'a.lei.HemH413that this is whatכֹּֽה־koh-H3541the LORDיְהוָ֗ה הִנְנִ֣יYah.weh hi.NiH3068H2005saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559: ‘I am going to fillמְמַלֵּ֣אme.ma.Le'H4390אֶת־'et-H853with drunkennessשִׁכָּרֽוֹן׃shi.ka.RonH7943allכָּל־kol-H3605who liveיֹשְׁבֵ֣יyo.she.VeiH3427in thisהַזֹּ֟אתha.ZotH2063וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853landהָאָ֪רֶץha.'A.retzH776—the kingsהַמְּלָכִ֣יםha.me.la.KhimH4428who sitהַיֹּשְׁבִים֩hai.yo.she.VimH3427on David’sלְדָוִ֨דle.da.VidH1732עַל־'al-H5921throneכִּסְא֜וֹkis.'OH3678וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853,the priestsהַכֹּהֲנִ֣יםha.ko.ha.NimH3548וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853,the prophetsהַנְּבִיאִ֗יםha.ne.vi.'ImH5030וְאֵ֛תve.'EtH853,and allכָּל־kol-H3605the peopleיֹשְׁבֵ֥יyo.she.VeiH3427of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִָ֖םye.ru.sha.LimH3389.
14I will smash themוְנִפַּצְתִּים֩ve.ni.patz.TimH5310againstאֶל־'el-H413oneאִ֨ישׁ'ishH376anotherאָחִ֜יו'a.ChivH251,fathersוְהָאָב֧וֹתve.ha.'a.VotH1and sonsוְהַבָּנִ֛יםve.ha.ba.NimH1121alikeיַחְדָּ֖וyach.DavH3162,declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the LORDיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068.I will allow noלֹֽא־lo'-H3808mercyאֶחְמ֧וֹל'ech.MolH2550orוְלֹֽא־ve.lo'-H3808pityאָח֛וּס'a.ChusH2347orוְלֹ֥אve.Lo'H3808compassionאֲרַחֵ֖ם'a.ra.ChemH7355to keep Me from destroying themמֵהַשְׁחִיתָֽם׃ סme.hash.chi.TamH7843.’”
