Micah 7
Darby Bible
1WoeH480 is me! for I amH1961 as when they have gathered the summer-fruits, as the grape-gleanings of the vintage. There is no clusterH811 to eatH398; there is no early fruit [which] my soulH5315 desiredH183. 2The 1godly [manH376] hath perishedH6 out of the landH776, and there is none uprightH3477 among menH376: they all lieH693 in waitH693 for bloodH1818, they huntH6679 every manH376 his brotherH251 with a net. 3Both handsH3709 are for evilH7451, to do it wellH3190. The princeH8269 asketh, and the judgeH8199 [is there] for a reward; and the greatH1419 [man] uttereth his soul's greed: and [together] they combine it. 4The bestH2896 of them is as a briar; the most uprightH3477, [worse] than a thorn-fence. The dayH3117 of thy watchmenH6822, thy visitation is comeH935; nowH6258 shall beH1961 their perplexity. 5BelieveH539 ye not in a companionH7453, put not confidence in a familiar friendH7453: keepH8104 the doorsH6607 of thy mouthH6310 from her that lieth in thy bosomH2436. 6For the sonH1121 dishonoureth the fatherH1, the daughterH1323 riseth up against her motherH517, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law: a man's enemiesH341 are the menH376 of his own householdH1004. 7But as for me, I will look unto Jehovah; I will waitH3176 for the 2GodH430 of my salvationH3468: my 3GodH430 will hearH8085 me. 8RejoiceH8055 not against me, O mine enemyH341: though I fallH5307, I shall ariseH6965; when I sitH3427 in darknessH2822, Jehovah shall be a lightH216 unto me. 9I will bearH5375 the indignation of Jehovah — for I have sinnedH2398 against him — until he plead my causeH7379, and execute judgmentH4941 for me: he will bringH3318 me forthH3318 to the lightH216; I shall behold his righteousnessH6666. 10And mine enemyH341 shall seeH7200 [it], and shameH955 shall coverH3680 her which saidH559 unto me, WhereH346 is Jehovah thy 4GodH430? Mine eyesH5869 shall behold her; nowH6258 shall she beH1961 trodden down, as the mire of the streetsH2351. 11In the dayH3117 when thy wallsH1447 shall be builtH1129, on that dayH3117 shall the established limitH2706 recede. 12In that dayH3117 they shall comeH935 to thee from AssyriaH804 and the citiesH5892 of EgyptH4693, and from EgyptH4693 to the riverH5104, and from seaH3220 to seaH3220, and from mountainH2022 to mountainH2022. 13But the landH776 shall beH1961 desolate because of them that dwellH3427 therein, for the fruitH6529 of their doings. 14FeedH7462 thy peopleH5971 with thy rodH7626, the flockH6629 of thine inheritanceH5159, dwellingH7931 aloneH910 in the forestH3293, in the midstH8432 of CarmelH3760: let them feedH7462 in BashanH1316 and GileadH1568, as in the daysH3117 of old. 15— As in the daysH3117 of thy comingH3318 forthH3318 out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714, will I shew them marvellous thingsH6381. 16— The nationsH1471 shall seeH7200, and be ashamedH954 for all their might: they shall lay [their] handH3027 upon [their] mouthH6310, their earsH241 shall be deaf. 17They shall lickH3897 dustH6083 like the serpent; like crawling things of the earthH776, they shall come tremblingH7264 forth from their close places. They shall turn with fearH3372 to Jehovah our 5GodH430, and shall be afraidH3372 because of thee. 18Who is a 6GodH410 like unto thee, that forgiveth iniquityH5771, and passeth by the transgressionH6588 of the remnantH7611 of his heritage? He retaineth not his angerH639 for everH5703, because he delighteth in loving-kindness. 19He will yet again have compassionH7355 on us, he will tread under foot our iniquitiesH5771: and thou wilt castH7993 all their sinsH2403 into the depthsH4688 of the seaH3220. 20Thou wilt perform truthH571 to JacobH3290, loving-kindness to AbrahamH85, which thou hast swornH7650 unto our fathersH1, from the daysH3117 of old.
