Micah 2

Darby Bible

1WoeH1945 to them that devise iniquity and work evilH7451 upon their bedsH4904! When the morningH1242 is lightH216 they practise it, because it is in the power of their handH3027. 2And they covetH2530 fieldsH7704, and takeH5375 them by violence; and housesH1004, and takeH5375 them awayH5375; and they oppressH6231 a manH376 and his houseH1004, even a manH376 and his heritage. 3ThereforeH3651 thusH3541 saith Jehovah: Behold, against this familyH4940 do I devise an evilH7451, from which ye shall not removeH4185 your necksH6677; neither shall ye walk haughtily: for it is an evilH7451 timeH6256. 4In that dayH3117 shall they takeH5375 up a proverbH4912 concerning you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, [and] sayH559, We are utterly spoiled: he hath changed the portionH2506 of my peopleH5971: howH349 hath he removedH4185 it from me! He hath distributed our fieldsH7704 to the rebellious. 5ThereforeH3651 thou shalt have none that shall castH7993 the measuring line upon a lotH1486, in the congregation of Jehovah. 6Prophesy ye not, they prophesy. If they do not prophesy to these, the ignominy will not depart. 7O thou [that art] named the houseH1004 of JacobH3290, Is Jehovah impatient? are these his doings? Do not my wordsH1697 do goodH3190 to him that walketh uprightly? 8But of late my peopleH5971 is risenH6965 up as an enemyH341: ye stripH6584 off the mantle with the garmentH8008 from them that passH5674 by securely, that are averse from warH4421. 9The womenH802 of my peopleH5971 do ye cast out from their pleasant housesH1004; from their young childrenH5768 do ye takeH3947 awayH3947 my magnificence for everH5769. 10AriseH6965 ye, and depart; for this is not the resting-place, because of defilement that bringeth destruction, even a grievous destruction. 11If a manH376 walkingH1980 in windH7307 and falsehoodH8267 do lieH8267, [saying,] I will prophesy unto thee of wineH3196 and of strongH7941 drinkH7941, he shall beH1961 the prophet of this peopleH5971. 12I will surelyH622 assemble, O JacobH3290, the whole of thee; I will surelyH622 gatherH6908 the remnantH7611 of IsraelH3478; I will putH7760 them togetherH3162 as sheepH6629 of Bozrah, as a flockH6629 in the midstH8432 of their pastureH1699: they shall makeH7760 great noise by reason of [the multitude of] menH120. 13One that breaketh through is goneH3318 up before them: they have brokenH6555 forthH3318, and have passedH5674 on to the gateH8179, and are goneH3318 out by it; and their kingH4428 passeth on before them, and Jehovah at the headH7218 of them.
