The Prophet Acknowledges
1WoeH480 is me! For I amH1961 Like the fruitH7019 pickersH625, like the 1grapeH1210 gatherersH5955. ThereH369 is not a clusterH811 of grapes to eatH398, Or a 2first-ripeH1063 figH1063 which 3I craveH183.2The 4godlyH2623 personH2623 has 5perishedH6 from the landH776, And thereH369 is noH369 uprightH3477 person among menH120. AllH3605 of them lieH693 in waitH693 for 6bloodshedH1818; EachH376 of them huntsH6679 the otherH251 with a 7netH2764.3ConcerningH5921 evilH7451, both handsH3709 doH3190 it 8wellH3190. The princeH8269 asksH7592, also the judgeH8199, for a 9bribeH7966, And a greatH1419 manH1419 speaksH1696 the desireH1942 of his soulH5315; So they weaveH5686 it togetherH5686.4The bestH2896 of them is like a 10briarH2312, The most uprightH3477 like a 11thornH4534 hedgeH4534. The dayH3117 when you post your watchmenH6822, Your 12punishmentH6486 will comeH935. ThenH6258 their 13confusionH3998 will occurH1961.5Do not 14trustH982 in a neighborH7453; Do not haveH982 confidenceH982 in a friendH7453. From her who liesH7901 in your bosomH2436 GuardH8104 15your lipsH6310.6For 16sonH1121 treatsH5034 fatherH1 contemptuouslyH5034, DaughterH1323 risesH6965 up against her motherH517, Daughter-in-lawH3618 against her mother-in-lawH2545; 17A man’sH376 enemiesH340 are the menH376 of his own householdH1004.
God Is the Source of Salvation and Light
7But as for me, I will 18watchH6822 expectantlyH6822 for the LordH3068; I will 19waitH3176 for the GodH430 of my salvationH3468. My 20GodH430 will hearH8085 me.821Do not rejoiceH8055 over me, O 22my enemyH340. ThoughH3588 I fallH5307 I will 23riseH6965; ThoughH3588 I dwellH3427 in darknessH2822, the LordH3068 is a 24lightH216 for me.
9I will bearH5375 the indignationH2197 of the LordH3068 BecauseH3588 I have sinnedH2398 against Him, UntilH5704H834 He 25pleadsH7378 my caseH7379 and executesH6213 justiceH4941 for me. He will bringH3318 me out to the 26lightH216, And I will seeH7200 His 2728righteousnessH6666.10Then my enemyH340 will seeH7200, And shameH955 will coverH3680 her who 29saidH559 to me, “WhereH335 is the LordH3068 your GodH430?” My eyesH5869 will lookH7200 on her; 30At that timeH6258 she will 31be 32trampledH4823 downH4823 Like mireH2916 of the streetsH2351.11It will be a dayH3117 for 33buildingH1129 your wallsH1447. On that dayH3117 will your boundaryH2706 be extendedH7368.12It will be a dayH3117 when 34they will 35comeH935 to you From AssyriaH804 and the citiesH5892 of EgyptH4693, From EgyptH4693 even to the 36EuphratesH5104, Even from seaH3220 to seaH3220 and mountainH2022 to mountainH2022.13And the earthH776 will becomeH1961 37desolateH8077 becauseH5921 of her inhabitantsH3427, On accountH4480 of the 38fruitH6529 of their deedsH4611.
1439ShepherdH7462 Your peopleH5971 with Your 40scepterH7626, The flockH6629 of Your 41possessionH5159 Which dwellsH7931 by itselfH910 in the woodlandH3293, In the midstH8432 of 42a fruitfulH3759 fieldH3759. Let them feedH7462 in 43BashanH1316 and GileadH1568 44As in the daysH3117 of oldH5769.15“As in the daysH3117 when you cameH3318 out from the landH776 of EgyptH4714, I will showH7200 4546you miraclesH6381.”16NationsH1471 47will seeH7200 and be ashamedH954 Of allH3605 their mightH1369. They will 48putH7760 their handH3027 on their mouthH6310, Their earsH241 will be deafH2790.17They will 49lickH3897 the dustH6083 like a serpentH5175, Like 50reptilesH2119 of the earthH776. They will comeH7264 51tremblingH7264 out of their 52fortressesH4526; To the LordH3068 our GodH430 they will comeH6342 in 53dreadH6342 And they will be afraidH3372 beforeH4480 You.18WhoH4310 is a GodH410 likeH3644 You, who 54pardonsH5375 iniquityH5771 And passesH5674 overH5921 the rebelliousH6588 actH6588 of the 55remnantH7611 of His 56possessionH5159? He does not 57retainH2388 His angerH639 foreverH5703, BecauseH3588 He 58delightsH2654 in 59unchangingH2617 loveH2617.19He will againH7725 haveH7355 compassionH7355 on us; 60He will treadH3533 our iniquitiesH5771 underH3533 footH3533. Yes, You will 61castH7993 allH3605 62their sinsH2403 Into the depthsH4688 of the seaH3220.20You will giveH5414 6364truthH571 to JacobH3290 And 65unchangingH2617 loveH2617 to AbrahamH85, WhichH834 You 66sworeH7650 to our forefathersH1 From the daysH3117 of oldH6924.
