Thessalonians 2:1-7
For ye know yourselves, brethren, our entering in which [we had] to you, that it has not been in vainG2756;
but, having suffered before and been insulted, evenG2532 as ye know, in PhilippiG5375, we were bold in our 1GodG2316 to speakG2980 unto you the glad tidings of 2GodG2316 with muchG4183 earnest striving.
For our exhortationG3874 [was] not of deceitG1388, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile;
but even as we have been approved of 3GodG2316 to have the glad tidings entrustedG4100 to us, so we speakG2980; not as pleasingG700 menG444, but 4GodG2316, who proves our heartsG2588.
For we have not at any timeG4218 been [among you] with flattering discourse, even as ye know, nor with a pretextG4392 for covetousnessG4124, 5GodG2316 [is] witnessG3144;
nor seekingG2212 gloryG1391 from menG444, neither from you nor from othersG243, whenG5613 we might have beenG1510 a charge as Christ's apostlesG652;
but have beenG1510 gentle in the midstG3319 of you, as a nurse would cherish her ownG1438 childrenG5043.
