Leviticus 27
1Then the LORDH3068 saidH1696 toH413 MosesH4872H559, 2“SpeakH1696 toH413 the IsraelitesH1121H3478 and sayH559 to themH413, ‘WhenH3588 someoneH376 makes a specialH6381 vowH5088 to the LORDH3068 involving the valueH6187 of personsH5315, 3if the valuationH6187 concernsH1961 a maleH2145H1121 from twentyH6242 toH5704H1121 sixtyH8346 years of ageH8141, then your valuationH6187 shall beH1961 fiftyH2572 shekelsH8255 of silverH3701,1 according to the sanctuaryH6944 shekelH8255.2 4Or ifH518 itH1931 is a femaleH5347, then your valuationH6187 shall beH1961 thirtyH7970 shekelsH8255.3 5And ifH518 the person is from fiveH2568 toH5704H1121 twentyH6242H8141 years of ageH1121H8141, then your valuationH6187 for the maleH2145 shall beH1961 twentyH6242 shekelsH8255,4 and for the femaleH5347 tenH6235 shekelsH8255.5
6Now ifH518 the person is from one monthH2320 toH5704H1121 fiveH2568 years of ageH8141, then your valuationH6187 for the maleH2145 shall beH1961 fiveH2568 shekelsH8255 of silverH3701,6 and for the femaleH5347 threeH7969 shekelsH8255 of silverH3701.7 7And ifH518H1121 the person is sixtyH8346 years of ageH8141 or olderH4605H518, then your valuationH6187 shall beH1961 fifteenH2568H6240 shekelsH82558 for the maleH2145 and tenH6235 shekelsH8255 for the femaleH5347. 8But ifH518 the one making the vow is too poor to payH4134 the valuationH6187, he is to presentH5975 the person9 beforeH6440 the priestH3548, who shall set the valueH6186 according toH5921H6310 whatH834 the one making the vowH5087 can affordH5381H3027.
9IfH518 he vows anH4480 animalH929 thatH834 may be broughtH7126 as an offeringH7133 to the LORDH3068, anyH3605 suchH4480 animal givenH5414 to the LORDH3068 shall beH1961 holyH6944. 10He must notH3808 replace itH2498H3808 or exchange itH4171, either goodH2896 for badH7451 orH176 badH7451 for goodH2896. But ifH518 he does substituteH4171 one animalH929 for anotherH929, both that animalH1931 and its substituteH8545H1961 will beH1961 holyH6944.
11But ifH518 the vow involves anyH3605 of the uncleanH2931 animalsH929 thatH834 may notH3808 be broughtH7126H4480 as an offeringH7133 to the LORDH3068, the animalH929 must be presentedH5975 beforeH6440 the priestH3548. 12The priestH3548 shall set its valueH6186, whether highH2896H996 or lowH7451; as the priestH3548 values itH6187, the priceH3651 will be setH1961. 13If, howeverH518, the owner decides to redeemH1350 the animal, he must addH3254 a fifthH2549 toH5921 its valueH6187.
14Now ifH3588 a manH376 consecratesH6942 his houseH1004 as holyH6944 to the LORDH3068, then the priestH3548 shall value itH6186 either asH996 goodH2896 orH996 badH7451. The price will standH6965 just asH834 the priestH3548H3651 valuesH6186 itH853. 15But ifH518 he who consecratedH6942 his houseH1004 redeemsH1350 itH853, he must addH3254 a fifthH2549 toH5921 the assessedH6187 valueH3701, and it will belongH1961 to him.
16IfH518 a manH376 consecratesH6942 to the LORDH3068 a parcelH7704 of his landH272, then your valuationH6187 shall beH1961 proportionalH6310 to the seed required for itH2233—fiftyH2572 shekelsH8255 of silverH3701 for every homerH2563 of barleyH8184 seedH2233.10 17IfH518 he consecratesH6942 his fieldH7704 during the YearH8141 of JubileeH3104, the price will standH6965 according to your valuationH6187.
18But ifH518 he consecratesH6942 his fieldH7704 afterH310 the JubileeH3104, the priestH3548 is to calculateH2803 the priceH3701 in proportion toH5921H6310 the yearsH8141 leftH3498 untilH5704 the next YearH8141 of JubileeH3104, so that your valuationH6187 will be reducedH1639. 19And ifH518 the one who consecratedH6942 the fieldH7704 decides to redeem itH1350, he must addH3254 a fifthH2549 toH5921 the assessedH6187 valueH3701, and it shall belongH6965 to him.
20If, howeverH518, he does notH3808 redeemH1350 the fieldH7704, or ifH518 he has soldH4376 itH7704 to anotherH312 manH376, it may noH3808 longerH5750 be redeemedH1350. 21When the fieldH7704 is releasedH3318 in the JubileeH3104, it will becomeH1961 holyH6944, like a fieldH7704 devotedH2764 to the LORDH3068; it becomesH1961 the propertyH272 of the priestsH3548.
22Now ifH518 a man consecratesH6942 to the LORDH3068 a fieldH7704 he has purchasedH4736, whichH834 is notH3808 a partH7704 of his own propertyH272, 23then the priestH3548 shall calculateH2803 for him the valueH4373H6187 up toH5704 the YearH8141 of JubileeH3104, and the man shall payH5414 the assessed valueH6187 on thatH1931 dayH3117 as a sacred offeringH6944 to the LORDH3068. 24In the YearH8141 of JubileeH3104 the fieldH7704 shall returnH7725 to the one from whomH834 it was boughtH7069H854—the original ownerH272 of the landH776. 25EveryH3605 valuationH6187 will beH1961 according to the sanctuaryH6944 shekelH8255, twentyH6242 gerahsH1626H1961 to the shekelH8255.11
26ButH389 noH3808 oneH376 may consecrateH6942 a firstbornH1060 of the livestockH929, becauseH834 a firstbornH1069 belongs to the LORDH3068. WhetherH518 it is an oxH7794 orH518 a sheepH7716, itH1931 is the LORD’sH3068. 27But ifH518 it is among the uncleanH2931 animalsH929, then he may redeemH6299 it according to your valuationH6187 and addH3254 a fifthH2549 of its valueH5921. IfH518 it is notH3808 redeemedH1350, then it shall be soldH4376 according to your valuationH6187.
NothingH3605 thatH834 a manH376 sets apartH2764H276312 to the LORDH3068 from all he ownsH3605—whether a manH120, an animalH929, or his inherited landH7704H272—can be soldH4376H3808 or redeemedH1350; everythingH3605 so devotedH2764 is mostH6944 holyH6944H1931 to the LORDH3068.
29NoH3605H2764 personH120 set apart for destructionH2763H4480 may be ransomedH6299; he must surely be put to deathH4191.
Instruction on Tithes
(Deuteronomy 14:22–29; Deuteronomy 26:1–15; Nehemiah 13:10–14)
30Thus anyH3605 titheH4643 from the landH776, whether from the seedH2233 of the landH776 or the fruitH6529 of the treesH6086, belongs to the LORDH3068; itH1931 is holyH6944 to the LORDH3068. 31IfH518 a manH376 wishesH1350 to redeemH1350 part of his titheH4643, he must addH3254 a fifthH2549 to its valueH5921.
32EveryH3605 tenthH4643 animal from the herdH1241 or flockH6629H3605 thatH834 passesH5674 underH8478 the shepherd’s rodH7626H6224 will beH1961 holyH6944 to the LORDH3068. 33He must notH3808 inspectH1239 whether it is goodH2896 orH996 badH7451, and he shall notH3808 make any substitutionH4171. But ifH518 he does make a substitutionH4171, both the animalH1931 and its substituteH8545H1961 shall becomeH1961 holyH6944; they cannotH3808 be redeemedH1350.’”
34TheseH428 are the commandmentsH4687 thatH834 the LORDH3068 gaveH6680 to MosesH4872 forH413 the IsraelitesH1121H3478 on MountH2022 SinaiH5514.
