Leviticus 22
Then the LORDH3068 saidH1696 toH413 MosesH4872H559, 2“TellH1696H413 AaronH175H413 and his sonsH1121 to treat with respectH5144 the sacred offeringsH6944 that the IsraelitesH1121H3478 have consecrated to MeH6942, so that they do notH3808 profaneH2490 My holyH6944 nameH8034. IH589 am the LORDH3068.
TellH559 themH413 that for the generations to comeH1755, if anyH3605 of their descendantsH2233H413 in a state of uncleannessH2932H5921 approachesH7126 the sacred offeringsH6944 thatH834 the IsraelitesH1121H3478 consecrateH6942 to the LORDH3068, thatH1931 personH5315 must be cut offH3772 from My presenceH6440. IH589 am the LORDH3068.
If a descendantH2233H376 of AaronH175H1931 has a skin diseaseH68791 orH176 a dischargeH2100, he may not eatH398H3808 the sacred offeringsH6944 untilH5704 he is cleanH2891. Whoever touchesH5060 anythingH3605 defiledH2931 by a corpseH5315 orH176 by a manH376 whoH834 hasH3318 an emissionH7902 of semenH2233, 5orH176 whoeverH376 touchesH5060 aH3605 crawling creatureH8318 orH176 a personH120 thatH834 makes him uncleanH2930, whateverH3605 the uncleanness may beH2932— 6the manH5315 whoH834 touchesH5060 any of these will remain uncleanH2930 untilH5704 eveningH6153. He must notH3808 eatH398 fromH4480 the sacred offeringsH6944 unlessH3588H518 he has bathedH7364 himselfH1320 with waterH4325.
When the sunH8121 has setH935, he will become cleanH2891, and thenH310 he may eatH398 fromH4480 the sacred offeringsH6944, forH3588 theyH1931 are his foodH3899. 8He must notH3808 eatH398 anything found deadH5038 or torn by wild animalsH2966, which would make him uncleanH2930. IH589 am the LORDH3068. 9The priests must keepH8104 My chargeH4931, lestH3808 they bearH5375 the guiltH2399 and dieH4191 becauseH3588 they profane itH2490. IH589 am the LORDH3068 who sanctifies themH6942.
NoH3808 oneH3605 outsideH2114 a priest’s family may eatH398 the sacred offeringH6944, norH3808 may the guestH8453 of a priestH3548 or his hired handH7916 eatH398 it. 11But ifH3588 a priestH3548 buysH7069 a slaveH5315 withH7075 his own moneyH3701, or ifH1992 a slave is bornH3211 in his householdH1004, thatH1931 slave may eatH398 his foodH3899.
IfH3588 the priest’sH3548 daughterH1323 is marriedH1961 to a manH376 otherH2114 than a priest, sheH1931 is notH3808 to eatH398 of the sacredH6944 contributionsH8641. 13But ifH3588 a priest’sH3548 daughterH1323 with noH369 childrenH2233 becomesH1961 widowedH490 or divorcedH1644 and returnsH7725 toH413 her father’sH1 houseH1004, she may shareH398 her father’sH1 foodH3899 as in her youthH5271. But noH3605H3808 outsiderH2114 may shareH398 it.
IfH3588 anyoneH376 eatsH398 a sacred offeringH6944 in errorH7684, he must addH3254 a fifthH2549 toH5921 its value and giveH5414 the sacred offeringH6944 to the priestH3548. 15The priests must notH3808 profaneH2490 the sacred offeringsH6944 that the IsraelitesH1121H3478 presentH7311 to the LORDH3068 16by allowing the people to eatH398 the sacred offeringsH6944 and thus to bearH5375 the punishmentH5771 for guiltH819. ForH3588 IH589 am the LORDH3068 who sanctifies themH6942.”
Worthy Offerings
Then the LORDH3068 saidH1696 toH413 MosesH4872H559, 18“SpeakH1696 toH413 AaronH175H413 and his sonsH1121H413 and allH3605 the IsraelitesH1121H3478 and tellH559 themH413, ‘Any manH376 ofH4480 the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 or any foreign residentH1616 whoH834 presentsH7126 a giftH7133H3605 for a burnt offeringH5930 to the LORDH3068, whether to fulfill a vowH5088 or as aH3605 freewill offeringH5071, 19must offer an unblemishedH8549 maleH2145 from the cattleH1241, sheepH3775, or goatsH5795 in order for it to be accepted on your behalfH7522. 20You must notH3808 presentH7126 anythingH3605 withH834 a defectH3971, becauseH3588 it will notH3808 beH1961 acceptedH7522 on your behalf.
WhenH3588 a manH376 presentsH7126 a peace offeringH2077H8002 to the LORDH3068 from the herdH1241 orH176 flockH6629 to fulfillH6381 a vowH5088 orH176 as a freewill offeringH5071, it must beH1961 without blemishH8549 or defectH3971 to be acceptableH7522. 22You are notH3808 to presentH7126 to the LORDH3068 any animal that is blindH5788, injuredH7667, orH176 maimedH2742H176, orH176 anything with a running soreH2990H176, a festering rashH1618H176, or a scabH3217; you must notH3808 putH5414 any of these onH5921 the altarH4196 as a food offeringH801 to the LORDH3068.
You may presentH6213 as a freewill offeringH5071 an oxH77942 or sheepH7716 that has a deformedH8311 or stunted limbH7038, but it is notH3808 acceptableH7521 in fulfillment of a vowH5088. 24You are notH3808 to presentH7126 to the LORDH3068 an animal whose testicles are bruisedH4600, crushedH3807, tornH5423, or cutH3772; you are not toH3808 sacrifice themH6213 in your landH776. 25Neither you norH3808 a foreignerH1121H5236 shall presentH7126 foodH3899 to your GodH430 from anyH3605 suchH428 animal. They will notH3808 be acceptedH7521 on your behalf, becauseH3588 they are deformedH4893 and flawedH3971.’”
Then the LORDH3068 saidH1696 toH413 MosesH4872H559, 27“WhenH3588 an oxH7794,3 a sheepH3775H176, orH176 a goatH5795 is bornH3205, it must remainH1961 withH8478 its motherH517 for sevenH7651 daysH3117. From the eighthH8066 dayH3117 onH1973, it will be acceptable asH7521 a food offeringH801 presentedH7133 to the LORDH3068. 28But you must notH3808 slaughterH7819 an oxH77944 orH176 a sheepH7716 on the sameH259 dayH3117 as its youngH1121.
WhenH3588 you sacrificeH2076 a thankH8426 offeringH2077 to the LORDH3068, offer itH2076 so that it may be acceptable on your behalfH7522. 30It must be eatenH398 that sameH1931 dayH3117. Do notH3808 leaveH3498 any of itH4480 untilH5704 morningH1242. IH589 am the LORDH3068.
You are to keepH8104 My commandmentsH4687 and practiceH6213 themH853. IH589 am the LORDH3068. 32You must notH3808 profaneH2490 My holyH6944 nameH8034. I must be acknowledged as holyH6942 amongH8432 the IsraelitesH1121H3478. IH589 am the LORDH3068 who sanctifies youH6942, 33who brought you outH3318 of the landH776 of EgyptH4714 to beH1961 your GodH430. IH589 am the LORDH3068.”
