(Deuteronomy 23:9–14)

1And the LORDH3068 saidH1696 toH413 MosesH4872H413 and AaronH175H559, 2“SayH1696 toH413 the IsraelitesH1121H3478, ‘WhenH3588 anyH376 manH376 hasH1961 a bodilyH1320 dischargeH2100, the dischargeH2101 is uncleanH2931. 3ThisH2063 uncleannessH2932 isH1961 from his dischargeH2101, whether his bodyH1320 allowsH7325 the discharge to flowH2101 orH176 blocks itH2856. So his dischargeH2101 will bring aboutH1931 uncleannessH2932.

4AnyH3605 bedH4904 onH5921 whichH834 the man with the dischargeH2100 liesH7901 will be uncleanH2930, and anyH3605 furnitureH3627 onH5921 whichH834 he sitsH3427 will be uncleanH2930. 5AnyoneH376 whoH834 touchesH5060 his bedH4904 must washH3526 his clothesH899 and batheH7364 with waterH4325, and he will be uncleanH2930 untilH5704 eveningH6153. 6Whoever sitsH3427 onH5921 furnitureH3627 onH5921 whichH834 the man with the dischargeH2100 was sittingH3427 must washH3526 his clothesH899 and batheH7364 with waterH4325, and he will be uncleanH2930 untilH5704 eveningH6153.

7Whoever touchesH5060 the bodyH1320 of the man with a dischargeH2100 must washH3526 his clothesH899 and batheH7364 with waterH4325, and he will be uncleanH2930 untilH5704 eveningH6153. 8IfH3588 the man with the dischargeH2100 spitsH7556 on one who is cleanH2889, that person must washH3526 his clothesH899 and batheH7364 with waterH4325, and he will be uncleanH2930 untilH5704 eveningH6153.

9AnyH3605 saddleH4817 onH5921 whichH834 the man with the dischargeH2100 ridesH7392 will be uncleanH2930. 10WhoeverH3605 touchesH5060 anythingH3605 thatH834 wasH1961 under himH8478 will be uncleanH2930 untilH5704 eveningH6153, and whoever carriesH5375 such thingsH853 must washH3526 his clothesH899 and batheH7364 with waterH4325, and he will be uncleanH2930 untilH5704 eveningH6153.

11If the man with the dischargeH2100 touchesH5060 anyoneH3605 withoutH3808 first rinsingH7857 his handsH3027 with waterH4325, the one who was touched must washH3526 his clothesH899 and batheH7364 with waterH4325, and he will be uncleanH2930 untilH5704 eveningH6153. 12Any clayH2789 potH3627 thatH834 the man with the dischargeH2100 touchesH5060 must be brokenH7665, and anyH3605 woodenH6086 utensilH3627 must be rinsedH7857 with waterH4325.

The Cleansing of Men

13WhenH3588 the manH2100 has been cleansedH2891 from his dischargeH2101, he must count offH5608 sevenH7651 daysH3117 for his cleansingH2893, washH3526 his clothesH899, and batheH7364 himselfH1320 in freshH2416 waterH4325,1 and he shall be cleanH2891. 14On the eighthH8066 dayH3117 he is to takeH3947 twoH8147 turtledovesH8449 orH176 twoH8147 youngH1121 pigeonsH3123, comeH935 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 atH413 the entranceH6607 to the TentH168 of MeetingH4150, and give themH5414 toH413 the priestH3548. 15The priestH3548 is to sacrificeH6213 themH853, oneH259 as a sin offeringH2403 and the otherH259 as a burnt offeringH5930. In this way the priestH3548 will make atonementH3722 forH5921 the man beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 because of his dischargeH2101.

16WhenH3588H3318H4480 a manH376 has an emissionH7902 of semenH2233, he must batheH7364 his wholeH3605 bodyH1320 with waterH4325, and he will be uncleanH2930 untilH5704 eveningH6153. 17AnyH3605 clothingH899H3605 or leatherH5785 onH5921 whichH834 there isH1961 an emissionH7902 of semenH2233 must be washedH3526 with waterH4325, and it will remain uncleanH2930 untilH5704 eveningH6153. 18If a manH376H854 lies withH7901 a womanH802 and there is an emissionH7902 of semenH2233, both must batheH7364 with waterH4325, and they will remain uncleanH2930 untilH5704 eveningH6153.

The Uncleanness of Women

19WhenH3588 a womanH802 hasH1961 a dischargeH2100 consistingH1961 of bloodH1818 from her bodyH1320, she will beH1961 unclean due to her menstruationH5079 for sevenH7651 daysH3117, and anyoneH3605 who touchesH5060 her will be uncleanH2930 untilH5704 eveningH6153. 20AnythingH3605 onH5921 whichH834 she liesH7901 or sitsH3427 during her menstruationH5079 will be uncleanH2930, 21and anyoneH3605 who touchesH5060 her bedH4904 must washH3526 his clothesH899 and batheH7364 with waterH4325, and he will be uncleanH2930 untilH5704 eveningH6153.

22WhoeverH3605 touchesH5060 anyH3605 furnitureH3627 onH5921 whichH834 she was sittingH3427 must washH3526 his clothesH899 and batheH7364 with waterH4325, and he will be uncleanH2930 untilH5704 eveningH6153. 23And whetherH518 it isH1931 a bedH4904 orH176 furnitureH3627 onH5921 whichH834 sheH1931 was sittingH3427H5921, whoever touchesH5060 it will be uncleanH2930 untilH5704 eveningH6153.

24IfH518 a manH376H854 lies withH7901 herH7901 and her menstrual flowH5079 touchesH1961 himH5921, he will be uncleanH2930 for sevenH7651 daysH3117, and anyH3605 bedH4904 onH5921 whichH834 he liesH7901 will become uncleanH2930.

25WhenH3588 a womanH802 has a dischargeH2100H2101 of her bloodH1818 for manyH7227 daysH3117 at a timeH6256 other thanH3808 her menstrual periodH5079, orH176 ifH3588 it continuesH2100 beyondH5921 her periodH5079, sheH1931 will beH1961 uncleanH2931 allH3605 the daysH3117 of her uncleanH2932 dischargeH2101, just as she is during the daysH3117 of her menstruationH5079. 26AnyH3605 bedH4904 onH5921 whichH834 she liesH7901 or anyH3605 furnitureH3627 onH5921 whichH834 she sitsH3427 during the daysH3117 of her dischargeH2101 will beH1961 uncleanH2931, like her bedH4904 during her menstrual periodH2932H5079. 27AnyoneH3605 who touchesH5060 these things will be uncleanH2930; he must washH3526 his clothesH899 and batheH7364 with waterH4325, and he will be uncleanH2930 untilH5704 eveningH6153.

The Cleansing of Women

28WhenH518 a woman is cleansedH2891 of her dischargeH2101, she must count offH5608 sevenH7651 daysH3117, and after thatH310 she will be ceremonially cleanH2891. 29On the eighthH8066 dayH3117 she is to takeH3947 twoH8147 turtledovesH8449 orH176 twoH8147 youngH1121 pigeonsH3123 and bringH935 themH853 toH413 the priestH3548 atH413 the entranceH6607 to the TentH168 of MeetingH4150. 30The priestH3548 is to sacrificeH6213 oneH259 as a sin offeringH2403 and the otherH259 as a burnt offeringH5930. In this way the priestH3548 will make atonementH3722 for herH5921 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 for her uncleanH2932 dischargeH2101.

31You must keepH5144 the childrenH1121 of Israel separateH3478 from their uncleannessH2932, so that they do notH3808 dieH4191H2932 by defilingH2930 My tabernacleH4908, whichH834 is among themH8432.

32ThisH2063 is the lawH8451 of him who has a dischargeH2100, of the man whoH834 hasH3318 an emissionH4480H7902 of semenH2233 whereby he is uncleanH2930, 33of a womanH1739 in her menstrual periodH5079, of any maleH2145 or femaleH5347 who has a dischargeH2100, and of a manH376 whoH834 liesH7901 withH5973 an unclean womanH2931.’”
