Leviticus 6

(Leviticus 5:14–19; Leviticus 7:1–10)

1And the LORDH3068 saidH1696 toH413 MosesH4872H559, 2“IfH3588 someoneH5315 sinsH2398 and actsH4603 unfaithfullyH4604 against the LORDH3068 by deceivingH3584 his neighborH5997 in regard to a depositH6487 or securityH8667 entrusted to himH3027 orH176 stolenH1498H176, orH176 if he extortsH6231 his neighborH5997 3orH176 findsH4672 lost propertyH9 and liesH3584 about it and swearsH7650 falselyH8267, or if he commits any such sinH2398H259H3605 thatH834 a manH120 might commitH6213— 4onceH3588 he has sinnedH2398 and becomes guiltyH816, he must returnH7725 whatH834H1497 he has stolenH1500 orH176 taken by extortionH6231, orH176 the depositH6487 entrustedH6485 to himH854, orH176 the lost propertyH9 he foundH4672, 5orH176 anything elseH3605 aboutH5921 whichH834 he has swornH7650 falselyH8267.

He must makeH7218 restitution in fullH7999, addH3254 a fifthH2549 of the valueH5921, and pay itH5414 to the ownerH834H1931 on the dayH3117 he acknowledges his guiltH819. 6Then he must bringH935 toH413 the priestH3548 his guilt offeringH817 to the LORDH3068: an unblemishedH8549 ramH352 of proper valueH6187 fromH4480 the flockH6629. 7In this way the priestH3548 will make atonementH3722 for himH5921 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068, and he will be forgivenH5545 forH5921 anythingH259H3605 he may have doneH6213 to incur guiltH819.”

The Burnt Offering

(Leviticus 1:1–17)

8Then the LORDH3068 saidH1696 toH413 MosesH4872H559, 9“CommandH6680 AaronH175 and his sonsH1121H559 that thisH2063 is the lawH8451 of the burnt offeringH5930: The burnt offeringH5930H1931 is to remainH5921 onH5921 the hearthH4169 of the altarH4196 allH3605 nightH3915, untilH5704 morningH1242, and the fireH784 must be kept burningH3344 on the altarH4196.

10And the priestH3548 shall put onH3847 his linenH906 robeH4055 and linenH906H3847 undergarmentsH4370H5921H1320, and he shall removeH7311 from the altarH4196 the ashesH1880 of the burnt offeringH5930H5921 that the fireH784 has consumedH398 and place themH7760 besideH681 it. 11Then he must take offH6584 his garmentsH899, put onH3847 otherH312 clothesH899, and carryH3318 the ashesH1880 outsideH2351 the campH4264H413 toH413 a ceremonially cleanH2889 placeH4725.

12The fireH784 onH5921 the altarH4196 shall be kept burningH3344; it must notH3808 be extinguishedH3518. Every morningH1242 the priestH3548 is to addH1197 woodH6086 to the fireH5921, arrangeH6186 the burnt offeringH5930 on itH5921, and burnH6999 the fat portionsH2459 of the peace offeringsH8002 on itH5921. 13The fireH784 shall be kept burningH3344 onH5921 the altarH4196 continuallyH8548; it must notH3808 be extinguishedH3518.

The Grain Offering

(Leviticus 2:1–16)

14Now thisH2063 is the lawH8451 of the grain offeringH4503: Aaron’sH175 sonsH1121 shall presentH7126 itH853 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 inH413 frontH6440 of the altarH4196. 15The priest is to removeH7311 a handfulH7062 ofH4480 fine flourH5560 and olive oilH8081, together with allH3605 the frankincenseH3828 from the grain offeringH4503, and burnH6999 the memorial portionH234 on the altarH4196 as a pleasingH5207 aromaH7381 to the LORDH3068.

16AaronH175 and his sonsH1121 are to eatH398 the remainderH3498. It must be eatenH398 without leavenH4682 in a holyH6918 placeH4725; they are to eat itH398 in the courtyardH2691 of the TentH168 of MeetingH4150. 17It must notH3808 be bakedH644 with leavenH2557; I have assignedH5414 it as their portionH2506 of My food offeringsH801. ItH1931 is mostH6944 holyH6944, like the sin offeringH2403 and the guilt offeringH817. 18AnyH3605 maleH2145 among the sonsH1121 of AaronH175 may eat itH398. This is a permanentH5769 portionH2706 from the food offeringsH801 to the LORDH3068 for the generations to comeH1755. AnythingH3605 thatH834 touchesH5060 them will become holyH6942.”

19Then the LORDH3068 saidH1696 toH413 MosesH4872H559, 20“ThisH2088 is the offeringH7133 that AaronH175 and his sonsH1121 must presentH7126 to the LORDH3068 on the dayH3117 he is anointedH4886: a tenthH6224 of an ephahH374 of fine flourH55601 as a regularH8548 grain offeringH4503, halfH4276 of it in the morningH1242 and halfH4276 in the eveningH6153. 21It shall be preparedH6213 with oilH8081 onH5921 a griddleH4227;2 you are to bring itH935 well-kneadedH7246 and present itH7126 as a grain offeringH4503 brokenH86013 in piecesH6595, a pleasingH5207 aromaH7381 to the LORDH3068. 22The priestH3548, who is one of Aaron’s sonsH1121 and will be anointedH4899 to take his placeH8478, is to prepare itH6213. As a permanentH5769 portionH2706 for the LORDH3068, it must be burnedH6999 completelyH3632. 23EveryH3605 grain offeringH4503 for a priestH3548 shall be burnedH1961 completelyH3632; it is notH3808 to be eatenH398.”

The Sin Offering

(Leviticus 4:1–35; Leviticus 5:1–13)

24And the LORDH3068 saidH1696 toH413 MosesH4872H559, 25“TellH1696H413 AaronH175H413 and his sonsH1121H559 that thisH2063 is the lawH8451 of the sin offeringH2403: In the placeH4725 whereH834 the burnt offeringH5930 is slaughteredH7819, the sin offeringH2403 shall be slaughteredH7819 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068; it is mostH6944 holyH6944H1931. 26The priestH3548 who offersH2398 itH853 shall eat itH398; it must be eatenH398 in a holyH6918 placeH4725, in the courtyardH2691 of the TentH168 of MeetingH4150. 27AnythingH3605 thatH834 touchesH5060 its fleshH1320 will become holyH6942, and ifH834 any of the bloodH1818 is spatteredH5137 onH5921 a garmentH899, you must washH3526 itH834H5137H5921 in a holyH6918 placeH4725.

28The clayH2789 potH3627 in whichH834 the sin offering is boiledH1310 must be brokenH7665; ifH518 it is boiledH1310 in a bronzeH5178 potH3627, the pot must be scouredH4838 and rinsedH7857 with waterH4325. 29AnyH3605 maleH2145 among the priestsH3548 may eat itH398; itH1931 is mostH6944 holyH6944. 30But noH3808 sin offeringH2403 may be eatenH398 if its bloodH1818 has been broughtH935 intoH413 the TentH168 of MeetingH4150 to make atonementH3722 in the Holy PlaceH6944H784; it must be burnedH8313.
