Leviticus 13

(Numbers 5:1–4)

Then the LORDH3068 saidH1696 toH413 MosesH4872H413 and AaronH175H559, 2“WhenH3588 someoneH120 hasH1961 a swellingH7613 orH176 rashH5597 orH176 bright spotH934 on his skinH5785H1320 that may beH1961 an infectiousH6883 skinH5785H1320 diseaseH5061,1 he must be broughtH935 toH413 AaronH175 the priestH3548 orH176 toH413 oneH259 of his sonsH1121 who is a priestH3548.

The priestH3548 is to examineH7200 the infectionH5061 on his skinH5785H1320, and if the hairH8181 in the infectionH5061 has turnedH2015 whiteH3836 and the soreH5061 appearsH4758 to be deeperH6013 than the skinH5785H1320H5061, itH1931 is a skin diseaseH6883. After the priestH3548 examines himH7200, he must pronounce him uncleanH2930.

If, howeverH518, the spotH934 on his skinH5785H1320 is whiteH3836H1931 and does notH369 appearH4758 to be deeperH6013 thanH4480 the skinH5785, and the hair in itH8181 has notH3808 turnedH2015 whiteH3836, the priestH3548 shall isolateH5462 the infected personH5061 for sevenH7651 daysH3117. 5On the seventhH7637 dayH3117 the priestH3548 is to reexamine himH7200, and ifH2009 he seesH5869 that the infectionH5061 is unchangedH5975 and has notH3808 spreadH6581H5061 on the skinH5785, the priestH3548 must isolate himH5462 for anotherH8145 sevenH7651 daysH3117. 6The priestH3548 will examine himH7200 againH8145 on the seventhH7637 dayH3117, and ifH2009 the soreH5061 has fadedH3543 and has notH3808 spreadH6581H5061 on the skinH5785, the priestH3548 shall pronounce him cleanH2891; itH1931 is a rashH4556. The person must washH3526 his clothesH899 and be cleanH2891.

But ifH518 the rashH4556 spreads furtherH6581 on his skinH5785 afterH310 he has shown himselfH7200 toH413 the priestH3548 for his cleansingH2893, he must present himselfH7200 againH8145 toH413 the priestH3548. 8The priestH3548 will reexamine himH7200, and ifH2009 the rashH4556 has spreadH6581 on the skinH5785, the priestH3548 must pronounce him uncleanH2930; itH1931 is a skin diseaseH6883.

WhenH3588 anyoneH120 developsH1961 a skin diseaseH5061, he must be broughtH935 toH413 the priestH3548. 10The priestH3548 will examine himH7200, and ifH2009 there is a whiteH3836 swellingH7613 on the skinH5785 thatH1931 has turnedH2015 the hairH8181 whiteH3836H4241, and there is rawH2416 fleshH1320 in the swellingH7613, 11itH1931 is a chronicH3462 skin diseaseH6883H5785H1320 and the priestH3548 must pronounce him uncleanH2930. He need notH3808 isolate himH5462, forH3588 heH1931 is uncleanH2931.

But ifH518 the skin diseaseH6883 breaks outH6524 all over his skinH5785 so that itH6883 coversH3680 allH3605 the skinH5785 of the infected personH5061 from headH7218 toH5704 footH7272H3605, as far as the priestH3548 can seeH4758H5869, 13the priestH3548 shall examine himH7200, and ifH2009 the diseaseH6883 has coveredH3680 his entireH3605 bodyH1320, he is to pronounce the infected personH5061 cleanH2891. Since it has all turnedH2015H3605 whiteH3836, heH1931 is cleanH2889.

But wheneverH3117 rawH2416 fleshH1320 appearsH7200 on someone, he will be uncleanH2930. 15When the priestH3548 seesH7200 the rawH2416 fleshH1320, he must pronounce him uncleanH2930. The rawH2416 fleshH1320 is uncleanH2931; itH1931 is a skin diseaseH6883H1931. 16ButH176 ifH3588 the rawH2416 fleshH1320 changesH7725 and turnsH2015 whiteH3836, he must goH935 toH413 the priestH3548. 17The priestH3548 will reexamine himH7200, and ifH2009 the infectionH5061 has turnedH2015 whiteH3836, the priestH3548 is to pronounce the infected personH5061 cleanH2891; then heH1931 is cleanH2889.

WhenH3588 a boilH7822 appearsH1961 on someone’s skinH5785H1320 and it healsH7495, 19and a whiteH3836 swellingH7613 orH176 a reddish-whiteH3836H125 spotH934 developsH1961 whereH4725 the boil wasH7822, he must present himselfH7200 toH413 the priestH3548. 20The priestH3548 shall examine itH7200, and ifH2009 it appearsH4758 to be beneathH8217H4480 the skinH5785 and the hair in itH8181 has turnedH2015 whiteH3836, the priestH3548H5061 shall pronounce him uncleanH2930; itH1931 is a diseased infectionH6883 that has broken outH6524 in the boilH7822.

But whenH518 the priestH3548 examines itH7200, ifH2009 there is noH369 whiteH3836 hairH8181 in it, and it is notH369H4480 beneathH8217 the skinH5785H1931 and has fadedH3544, the priestH3548 shall isolate himH5462 for sevenH7651 daysH3117. 22IfH518 it spreads any furtherH6581 on the skinH5785, the priestH3548 must pronounce him uncleanH2930; itH1931 is an infectionH5061. 23But ifH518 the spotH934 remainsH5975 unchangedH8478 and does notH3808 spreadH6581, itH1931 is only the scarH6867 from the boilH7822, and the priestH3548 shall pronounce him cleanH2891.

WhenH3588 there isH1961 a burnH4348H784 on someone’s skinH5785 and the rawH4241 area of the burnH4348H934 becomesH1961 reddish-whiteH3836H125 orH176 whiteH3836, 25the priestH3548 must examine itH7200. IfH2009 the hairH8181 in the spotH934 has turnedH2015 whiteH3836 and the spot appearsH4758 to be deeperH6013 thanH4480 the skinH5785, itH1931 is a diseaseH6883 that has broken outH6524 in the burnH4348. The priestH3548H5061 must pronounce him uncleanH2930; itH1931 is a diseased infectionH6883.

But ifH518 the priestH3548 examines itH7200 and there isH2009 noH369 whiteH3836 hairH8181 in the spotH934, and it is notH369H4480 beneathH8217 the skinH5785H1931 but has fadedH3544, the priestH3548 shall isolate himH5462 for sevenH7651 daysH3117. 27On the seventhH7637 dayH3117 the priestH3548 is to reexamine himH7200, and ifH518 it has spread furtherH6581 on the skinH5785, the priestH3548 must pronounce him uncleanH2930; itH1931 is a diseased infectionH6883. 28But ifH518 the spotH934 is unchangedH5975H8478 and has notH3808 spreadH6581 on the skinH5785 but has fadedH3544, itH1931 is a swellingH7613 from the burnH4348, and the priestH3548 is to pronounce him cleanH2891; forH3588 itH1931 is only the scarH6867 from the burnH4348H1931.

IfH3588 a manH376 orH176 womanH802 hasH1961 an infectionH5061 on the headH7218 orH176 chinH2206, 30the priestH3548 shall examineH7200 the infectionH5061, and ifH2009 it appearsH4758 to be deeperH6013 thanH4480 the skinH5785 and the hair in itH8181 is yellowH6669 and thinH1851, the priestH3548 must pronounce him uncleanH2930; itH1931 is a scaly outbreakH5424, an infectious diseaseH6883 of the headH7218 orH176 chinH2206H1931.

But ifH3588 the priestH3548 examinesH7200 the scalyH5424 infectionH5061 andH2009 it does notH369 appearH4758 to be deeperH6013 thanH4480 the skinH5785, and there is noH369 blackH7838 hairH8181 in it, the priestH3548 shall isolateH5462 the infected personH5424H5061 for sevenH7651 daysH3117. 32On the seventhH7637 dayH3117 the priestH3548 is to reexamineH7200 the infectionH5061, and ifH2009 the scaly outbreakH5424 has notH3808 spreadH6581 and there isH1961 noH3808 yellowH6669 hairH8181 in it, and itH5424 does notH369 appearH4758 to be deeperH6013 thanH4480 the skinH5785, 33then the person must shave himselfH1548 except forH853H3808 the scaly areaH5424. Then the priestH3548 shall isolateH5462 him for anotherH8145 sevenH7651 daysH3117. 34On the seventhH7637 dayH3117 the priestH3548 shall examineH7200 the scaly outbreakH5424, and ifH2009 itH5424 has notH3808 spreadH6581 on the skinH5785 and does notH369 appear to beH4758 deeperH6013 thanH4480 the skinH5785, the priestH3548 is to pronounce him cleanH2891. He must washH3526 his clothesH899, and he will be cleanH2891.

If, howeverH518, the scaly outbreakH5424 spreads furtherH6581 on the skinH5785 afterH310 his cleansingH2893, 36the priestH3548 is to examine himH7200, and ifH2009 the scaly outbreakH5424 has spreadH6581 on the skinH5785, the priestH3548 need notH3808 look forH1239 yellowH6669 hairH8181; the personH1931 is uncleanH2931.

If, howeverH518, in his sightH5869 the scaly outbreakH5424 is unchangedH5975 and blackH7838 hairH8181 has grownH6779 in it, then itH5424 has healedH7495. HeH1931 is cleanH2889, and the priestH3548 is to pronounce himH2891 clean.

WhenH3588H1961 a manH376 orH176 a womanH802 has whiteH3836 spotsH934 on the skinH5785H1320, 39the priestH3548 shall examine themH7200, and ifH2009 the spotsH934 are dullH3544 whiteH3836, itH1931 is a harmless rashH933 that has broken outH6524 on the skinH5785; the personH1931 is cleanH2889.

Now ifH3588 a manH376 loses his hairH4803H7218H1931 and is baldH7142, he is stillH1931 cleanH2889. 41Or ifH518H7218 his hairlineH6285H6440 recedesH4803 and heH1931 is bald on his foreheadH1371, he is stillH1931 cleanH2889. 42But ifH3588 there isH1961 a reddish-whiteH3836H125 soreH5061 on the bald headH7146 orH176 foreheadH1372, itH1931 is an infectious diseaseH6883 breaking outH6524 on it. 43The priestH3548 is to examine himH7200, and ifH2009 the swellingH7613 of the infectionH5061 on his bald headH7146 orH176 foreheadH1372 is reddish-whiteH3836H125 likeH4758 a skinH5785 diseaseH6883, 44the manH376 is diseasedH6879; heH1931 is uncleanH2931H1931. The priestH3548 must pronounce him uncleanH2930 because of the infectionH5061 on his headH7218.

A diseased personH5061H6879 must wear torn clothesH899H1961H6533 and let his hairH7218H1961 hang looseH6544H5921,2 and he must coverH5844 his mouthH8222 and cry outH7121, ‘UncleanH2931, uncleanH2931!’ 46AsH3605 long asH3117 he has the infectionH5061, he remainsH2930H1931H910 uncleanH2931. He must live aloneH3427 in a placeH4186 outsideH2351 the campH4264.

Laws about Mildew

IfH3588 any fabricH899 isH1961 contaminatedH5061 with mildewH68833—any woolH6785 orH176H899 linenH6593 garmentH899, 48any weaveH8359 orH176 knitH6154 of linenH6593 or woolH6785, orH176 any article of leatherH5785H176H3605— 49and if the markH5061 in the fabricH899, leatherH5785, weaveH8359, knitH6154, orH176 leatherH5785 articleH3627 isH1961 greenH3422 orH176 redH125, then it isH1931 contaminatedH5061 with mildewH6883 and must be shownH7200 to the priestH3548. 50And the priestH3548 is to examineH7200 the mildewH5061 and isolateH5462 the contaminatedH5061 fabric for sevenH7651 daysH3117.

On the seventhH7637 dayH3117 the priest shall reexamineH7200 itH853, and ifH3588 the mildewH5061 has spreadH6581 in the fabricH899, weaveH8359H176, knitH6154H176, orH176 leatherH5785, then regardless ofH3605 howH834 itH5785 is usedH6213H4399, it is a harmfulH3992 mildewH6883; the article is uncleanH2931. 52He is to burnH8313 the fabricH899, weaveH8359, orH176 knitH6154, whetherH176 the contaminated itemH834H1961H5061 is woolH6785 or linenH6593H176 orH176 leatherH5785. SinceH3588 the mildewH6883 is harmfulH3992, the article must be burned upH784H8313.

But whenH518 the priestH3548 reexamines itH7200, ifH2009 the mildewH5061 has notH3808 spreadH6581 in the fabricH899, weaveH8359, knitH6154H176, orH176 leatherH5785 articleH3627, 54the priestH3548 is to orderH6680 theH834 contaminatedH5061 article to be washedH3526 and isolatedH5462 for anotherH8145 sevenH7651 daysH3117. 55AfterH310 it has been washedH3526, the priestH3548 is to reexamine itH7200, and ifH2009 the mildewedH5061 articleH5061 has notH3808 changedH2015 in appearanceH5869, itH1931 is uncleanH2931. Even though the mildewH5061 has notH3808 spreadH6581, you must burn itH8313H784, whetherH1931 the rot isH6356 on the frontH1372 orH176 backH7146.

IfH518 the priestH3548H2009 examines itH7200 and the mildewH5061 has fadedH3543 afterH310 it has been washedH3526, he must cut the contaminated section outH7167 ofH4480 the fabricH899, leatherH5785, weaveH8359H176H4480, orH176H4480 knitH6154. 57But ifH518 it reappearsH7200H5750 in the fabricH899, weaveH8359, orH176 knitH6154H176, orH176 on anyH3605 leatherH5785 articleH3627, itH1931 is spreadingH6524. You must burnH8313H784 the contaminatedH5061 articleH834.

If the mildewH5061 disappearsH5493 from the fabricH899, weaveH8359, orH176 knitH6154H176, orH176 anyH3605 leatherH5785 articleH3627 afterH834 washingH3526, then it is to be washedH3526 againH8145, and it will be cleanH2891.

ThisH2063 is the lawH8451 concerning a mildewH6883 contaminationH5061 in woolH6785 orH176 linenH6593 fabricH899, weaveH8359, orH176 knitH6154, orH176 anyH3605 leatherH5785 articleH3627, for pronouncing it cleanH2891 orH176 uncleanH2930.”
