Leviticus 27

Rules concerning Valuations

1Again, the LordH3068 spokeH1696 to MosesH4872, sayingH559, 2“SpeakH1696 to the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 and sayH559 to them, ‘1WhenH3588 a manH376 makesH6381 a difficultH6381 vowH5088, he shall be valued according to your valuationH6187 of personsH5315 belonging to the LordH3068. 3If your valuationH6187 is of the maleH2145 from twentyH6242 yearsH8141 even to sixtyH8346 yearsH8141 oldH1121, then your valuationH6187 shall be fiftyH2572 shekelsH8255 of silverH3701, after 2the shekelH8255 of the sanctuaryH6944. 4Or ifH518 it is a femaleH5347, then your valuationH6187 shall be thirtyH7970 shekelsH8255. 5IfH518 it be from fiveH2568 yearsH8141 even to twentyH6242 yearsH8141 oldH1121 then your valuationH6187 for the maleH2145 shall be twentyH6242 shekelsH8255 and for the femaleH5347 tenH6235 shekelsH8255. 6But ifH518 they are from a monthH2320 even up to fiveH2568 yearsH8141 oldH1121, then your valuationH6187 shall be 3fiveH2568 shekelsH8255 of silverH3701 for the maleH2145, and for the femaleH5347 your valuationH6187 shall be threeH7969 shekelsH8255 of silverH3701. 7IfH518 they are from sixtyH8346 yearsH8141 oldH1121 and upwardH4605, ifH518 it is a maleH2145, then your valuationH6187 shall be fifteenH2568H6240 shekelsH8255, and for the femaleH5347 tenH6235 shekelsH8255. 8But ifH518 he is poorerH4134 thanH4480 your valuationH6187, then he shall be placedH5975 beforeH6440 the priestH3548 and the priestH3548 shall valueH6186 him; 4accordingH5921H6310 to 5the meansH3027H5381 of the one who vowedH5087, the priestH3548 shall valueH6186 him.

9‘Now ifH518 it is an animalH929 of the kind whichH834 6men can presentH7126 as an offeringH7133 to the LordH3068, anyH3605 suchH834 that one givesH5414 to the LordH3068 shall be holyH6944. 107He shall not replaceH2498 it or exchangeH4171 it, a goodH2896 for a badH7451, orH176 a badH7451 for a goodH2896; or ifH518 he doesH4171 exchangeH4171 animalH929 for animalH929, then both it and its substituteH8545 shall becomeH1961 holyH6944. 11IfH518, however, it is anyH3605 uncleanH2931 animalH929 of the kind whichH834 8men do not presentH7126 as an offeringH7133 to the LordH3068, then he shall placeH5975 the animalH929 beforeH6440 the priestH3548. 12The priestH3548 shall valueH6186 it 9as eitherH996 goodH2896 orH996 badH7451; as you, the priestH3548, valueH6187 it, soH3651 it shall be. 13But ifH518 he should everH1350 wish to redeemH1350 it, then he shall addH3254 one-fifthH2549 of it to your valuationH6187.

14‘Now ifH3588 a manH376 consecratesH6942 his houseH1004 as holyH6944 to the LordH3068, then the priestH3548 shall valueH6186 it 10as eitherH996 goodH2896 orH996 badH7451; as the priestH3548 valuesH6186 it, soH3651 it shall standH6965. 15Yet ifH518 the one who consecratesH6942 it should wish to redeemH1350 his houseH1004, then he shall addH3254 one-fifthH2549 of your valuationH6187 priceH3701 to it, so that it may be his.

16‘Again, ifH518 a manH376 consecratesH6942 to the LordH3068 part of the fieldsH7704 of his own propertyH272, then your valuationH6187 shall be 11proportionateH6310 to the seedH2233 needed for it: a homerH2563 of barleyH8184 seedH2233 at fiftyH2572 shekelsH8255 of silverH3701. 17IfH518 he consecratesH6942 his fieldH7704 as of the yearH8141 of jubileeH3104, according to your valuationH6187 it shall standH6965. 18IfH518 he consecratesH6942 his fieldH7704 afterH310 the jubileeH3104, however, then the priestH3548 shall calculateH2803 the priceH3701 for 12him 13proportionateH6310 to the yearsH8141 that are leftH3498 untilH5704 the yearH8141 of jubileeH3104; and it shall be deductedH1639 from your valuationH6187. 19IfH518 the one who consecratesH6942 it should everH1350 wish to redeemH1350 the fieldH7704, then he shall addH3254 one-fifthH2549 of your valuationH6187 priceH3701 to it, so that it may passH6965 to him. 20Yet ifH518 he will not redeemH1350 the fieldH7704, 14but has soldH4376 the fieldH7704 to anotherH312 manH376, it may noH3808 longerH5750 be redeemedH1350; 21and when it 15revertsH3318 in the jubileeH3104, the fieldH7704 shall be holyH6944 to the LordH3068, like a fieldH7704 16setH2764 apartH2764; 17it shall be for the priestH3548 as his 18propertyH272. 22Or ifH518 he consecratesH6942 to the LordH3068 a fieldH7704 which he has boughtH4736, whichH834 is not a part of the fieldH7704 of his own 19propertyH272, 23then the priestH3548 shall calculateH2803 for 20him the amountH4373 of your valuationH6187 up to the yearH8141 of jubileeH3104; and he shall on that dayH3117 giveH5414 your valuationH6187 as holyH6944 to the LordH3068. 24In the yearH8141 of jubileeH3104 the fieldH7704 shall returnH7725 to the one from whomH834 he boughtH7069 it, to whomH834 the possessionH272 of the landH776 belongs. 25EveryH3605 valuationH6187 of yours, moreover, shall be after 21the shekelH8255 of the sanctuaryH6944. The shekelH8255 shall be twentyH6242 gerahsH1626.

26‘22HoweverH389, a firstbornH1060 among animalsH929, whichH834 as a firstbornH1069 belongs to the LordH3068, noH3808 manH376 may consecrateH6942 it; whetherH518 oxH7794 orH518 sheepH7716, it is the Lord’sH3068. 27But ifH518 it is among the uncleanH2931 animalsH929, then he shall 23redeemH6299 it according to your valuationH6187 and addH3254 to it one-fifthH2549 of it; and ifH518 it is not redeemedH1350, then it shall be soldH4376 according to your valuationH6187.

28‘NeverthelessH389, 24anythingH3605 whichH834 a manH376 25setsH2763 apartH2763 to the LordH3068 out of allH3605 that he has, of manH120 or animalH929 or of the fieldsH7704 of his own propertyH272, shall not be soldH4376 or redeemedH1350. AnythingH3605 26devotedH2764 to destructionH2763 is mostH6944 holyH6944 to the LordH3068. 29NoH3808H3605 27oneH3605 whoH834 may have been 28setH2763 apartH2763 amongH4480 menH120 shall be ransomedH6299; he shall surelyH4191 be putH4191 to deathH4191.

30‘Thus 29allH3605 the titheH4643 of the landH776, of the seedH2233 of the landH776 or of the fruitH6529 of the treeH6086, is the Lord’sH3068; it is holyH6944 to the LordH3068. 31IfH518, therefore, a manH376 wishesH1350 to redeemH1350 part of his titheH4643, he shall addH3254 to it one-fifthH2549 of it. 32For everyH3605 tenthH4643 partH4643 of herdH1241 or flockH6629, whateverH3605H834 30passesH5674 underH8478 the rodH7626, the tenthH6224 one shall be holyH6944 to the LordH3068. 3331He is not to be concernedH1239 whetherH996 it is goodH2896 or badH7451, norH3808 shall he exchangeH4171 it; or ifH518 he doesH4171 exchangeH4171 it, then both it and its substituteH8545 shall becomeH1961 holyH6944. It shall not be redeemedH1350.’”

3432TheseH428 are the commandmentsH4687 whichH834 the LordH3068 commandedH6680 MosesH4872 for the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 at MountH2022 SinaiH5514.
