John 2:13-22

WhenG2532 theG3588 JewishG3588G2453 PassoverG3957 wasG1510 nearG1451, JesusG2424 went upG305 toG1519 JerusalemG2414. 14InG1722 theG3588 templeG2411 courts1 He foundG2147 men sellingG4453 cattleG1016, sheepG4263, andG2532 dovesG4058, andG2532 money changersG2773 seatedG2521 at their tables. 15So He madeG4160 a whipG5416 out ofG1537 cordsG4979 and droveG1544 allG3956 fromG1537 theG3588 templeG2411 courts, bothG5037 sheepG4263 andG2532 cattleG1016. He poured outG1632 theG3588 coinsG2772 of theG3588 money changersG2855 andG2532 overturnedG396 their tablesG5132. 16To thoseG3588 sellingG4453 dovesG4058 He saidG2036, “GetG142 theseG3778 out of hereG1782! How dare youG3361 turnG4160 MyG1473 Father’sG3962 house intoG3624 a marketplaceG3624G1712!”

HisG846 disciplesG3101 rememberedG3403 thatG3754 it isG1510 writtenG1125: “ZealG2205 forG3588 YourG4771 houseG3624 will consumeG2719 MeG1473.”2

On account of thisG3767, theG3588 JewsG2453 demandedG611G2532G2036G846, “WhatG5101 signG4592 can You showG1166 usG1473 to proveG3754 Your authority to doG4160 these thingsG3778?”

JesusG2424 answeredG611G2532G2036G846, “DestroyG3089 thisG3778 templeG3485, andG2532 inG1722 threeG5140 daysG2250 I will raise it up againG1453G846.”

“ThisG3778 temple tookG3485 forty-sixG5062G2532G1803 yearsG2094 to buildG3618,” theG3588 JewsG2453 repliedG2036, “andG2532 YouG4771 are going to raise it upG1453G846 inG1722 threeG5140 daysG2250?”

ButG1161 Jesus was speakingG2036 aboutG4012 theG3588 templeG3485 of HisG846 bodyG4983. 22AfterG3753 He was raisedG1453 fromG1537 the deadG3498, HisG846 disciplesG3101 rememberedG3403 thatG3754 He had saidG2036 thisG3778. ThenG2532 they believedG4100 theG3588 ScriptureG1124 andG2532 theG3588 wordG3056 thatG3739 JesusG2424 had spokenG2036.
