The Year of Jubilee

The Blessing of Obedience

The Law of Redemption

23The landוְהָאָ֗רֶץve.ha.'A.retzH776must notלֹ֤אlo'H3808be soldתִמָּכֵר֙ti.ma.KherH4376permanentlyלִצְמִתֻ֔תlitz.mi.TutH6783,becauseכִּי־ki-H3588itהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776is Mine,andכִּֽי־ki-H3588youאַתֶּ֖ם'a.TemH859are but foreignersגֵרִ֧יםge.RimH1616and residentsוְתוֹשָׁבִ֛יםve.to.sha.VimH8453with Meעִמָּדִֽי׃'i.ma.DiH5978.

24Thus for everyוּבְכֹ֖לu.ve.KholH3605piece of propertyאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776you possessאֲחֻזַּתְכֶ֑ם'a.chu.zat.KhemH272,you must provide forתִּתְּנ֥וּti.te.NuH5414the redemptionגְּאֻלָּ֖הge.'u.LahH1353of the landלָאָֽרֶץ׃ סla.'A.retzH776.

25Ifכִּֽי־ki-H3588your brotherאָחִ֔יךָ'a.Chi.khaH251becomes impoverishedיָמ֣וּךְya.MukhH4134and sellsוּמָכַ֖רu.ma.KharH4376some of his propertyמֵאֲחֻזָּת֑וֹme.'a.chu.za.ToH272,his nearestהַקָּרֹ֣ב אֵלָ֔יוha.ka.Ro 'e.LavH7138 H413of kinגֹֽאֲלוֹ֙go.'a.LoH1350may comeוּבָ֤אu.Va'H935and redeemוְגָאַ֕לve.ga.'AlH1350אֵ֖ת'etH853what his brotherאָחִֽיו׃'a.ChivH251has soldמִמְכַּ֥רmi.KarH4465.
