14Furthermoreגַּ֠םgamH1571,allכָּל־kol-H3605the leadersשָׂרֵ֨יsa.ReiH8269of the priestsהַכֹּהֲנִ֤יםha.ko.ha.NimH3548and the peopleוְהָעָם֙ve.ha.'AmH5971multipliedהִרְבּ֣וּhir.BuH7235their unfaithful deedsלִמְעָל מַ֔עַלlim.'ol- Ma.'alH4603 H4604, followingallכְּכֹ֖לke.KholH3605the abominationsתֹּעֲב֣וֹתto.'a.VotH8441of the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֑םha.go.YimH1471,and they defiledוַֽיְטַמְּאוּ֙vay.ta.me.'UH2930אֶת־'et-H853the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834He had consecratedהִקְדִּ֖ישׁhik.DishH6942in Jerusalemבִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃bi.ru.sha.LimH3389.

15Again and againוַיִּשְׁלַ֡ח הַשְׁכֵּ֣םvai.yish.Lach hash.KemH7925 H7971the LORDיְהוָה֩Yah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֨י'e.lo.HeiH430of their fathersאֲבוֹתֵיהֶ֧ם'a.vo.tei.HemH1,sent wordוְשָׁל֑וֹחַve.sha.Lo.achH7971toעֲלֵיהֶ֛ם'a.lei.HemH5921His peoplethroughבְּיַ֥דbe.YadH3027His messengersמַלְאָכָ֖יוmal.'a.KhavH4397becauseכִּֽי־ki-H3588He had compassionחָמַ֥לcha.MalH2550onעַל־'al-H5921themעַמּ֖וֹa.MoH5971and onוְעַל־ve.'al-H5921His dwelling placeמְעוֹנֽוֹ׃me.'o.NoH4583.

16But theyוַיִּֽהְי֤וּvai.yih.YuH1961mockedמַלְעִבִים֙mal.'i.VimH3931the messengersבְּמַלְאֲכֵ֣יbe.mal.'a.KheiH4397of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430,despisingוּבוֹזִ֣יםu.vo.ZimH959His wordsדְּבָרָ֔יוde.va.RavH1697and scoffingוּמִֽתַּעְתְּעִ֖יםu.mi.ta'.te.'ImH8591at His prophetsבִּנְבִאָ֑יוbin.vi.'AvH5030,untilעַ֠ד'adH5704the wrathחֲמַת־cha.mat-H2534of the LORDיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068against His peopleבְּעַמּ֖וֹ עַד־be.'a.Mo 'ad-H5971 H5704was stirred upעֲל֧וֹתa.LotH5927beyondלְאֵ֥יןle.'EinH369remedyמַרְפֵּֽא׃mar.Pe'H4832.

17So He brought upוַיַּ֨עַלvai.Ya.'alH5927against themעֲלֵיהֶ֜ם'a.lei.HemH5921אֶת־'et-H853the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of the Chaldeansכַּשְׂדִּ֗יםkas.di.yimH3778,who putוַיַּהֲרֹ֨גvai.ya.ha.RogH2026their young menבַּחוּרֵיהֶ֤םba.chu.rei.HemH970to the swordבַּחֶ֙רֶב֙ba.Che.revH2719in the sanctuaryבְּבֵ֣ית מִקְדָּשָׁ֔םbe.Veit mik.da.ShamH1004 H4720,sparingחָמַ֛ל עַל־cha.Mal 'al-H2550 H5921neitherוְלֹ֥אve.Lo'H3808young menבָּח֥וּרba.ChurH970nor young womenוּבְתוּלָ֖הu.ve.tu.LahH1330,neither elderlyזָקֵ֣ןza.KenH2205nor infirmוְיָשֵׁ֑שׁve.ya.SheshH3486. Godgave themנָתַ֥ןna.TanH5414allהַכֹּ֖לha.KolH3605into the handבְּיָדֽוֹ׃be.ya.DoH3027of Nebuchadnezzar,

18who carried offהֵבִ֥יאhe.Vi'H935everythingוְ֠כֹלVe.kholH3605to Babylonבָבֶֽל׃va.VelH894—allהַכֹּ֖לha.KolH3605the articlesכְּלֵ֞יke.LeiH3627of the houseבֵּ֤יתbeitH1004of Godהָאֱלֹהִים֙ha.'E.lo.HimH430,both largeהַגְּדֹלִ֣יםha.ge.do.LimH1419and smallוְהַקְּטַנִּ֔יםve.hak.ke.ta.NimH6996,and the treasuresוְאֹֽצְרוֹת֙ve.'o.tze.rOtH214of the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068וְאֹצְר֥וֹתve.'o.tze.RotH214and of the kingהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428and his officialsוְשָׂרָ֑יוve.sa.RavH8269.

19Then the Chaldeans set fire toוַֽיִּשְׂרְפוּ֙vai.yis.re.FuH8313אֶת־'et-H853the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430and broke downוַֽיְנַתְּצ֔וּvay.na.te.TzuH5422אֵ֖ת'etH853the wallחוֹמַ֣תcho.MatH2346of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִָ֑םye.ru.sha.LimH3389.They burned downשָׂרְפ֣וּ בָאֵ֔שׁsa.re.Fu va.'EshH8313 H784allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605the palacesאַרְמְנוֹתֶ֙יהָ֙'ar.me.no.Tei.haH759and destroyedלְהַשְׁחִֽית׃ סle.hash.ChitH7843everyוְכָל־ve.kholH3605articleכְּלֵ֥יke.LeiH3627of valueמַחֲמַדֶּ֖יהָma.cha.ma.Dei.haH4261.

20Those who escapedהַשְּׁאֵרִ֥יתha.she.'e.RitH7611מִן־min-H4480the swordהַחֶ֖רֶבha.Che.revH2719were carried by Nebuchadnezzar into exileוַיֶּ֛גֶלvai.Ye.gelH1540inאֶל־'el-H413Babylonבָּבֶ֑לba.VelH894,and they becameוַֽיִּהְיוּ־vai.yih.yu-H1961servantsלַעֲבָדִ֔יםla.'a.va.DimH5650to himand his sonsוּלְבָנָיו֙u.le.va.NavH1121untilעַד־'ad-H5704the kingdomמַלְכ֥וּתmal.KhutH4438of Persiaפָּרָֽס׃pa.RasH6539came to powerמְלֹ֖ךְme.LokhH4427.
