14Moreover all the chiefשָׂרֵ֨יsa.ReiH8269of the priestsהַכֹּהֲנִ֤יםha.ko.ha.NimH3548,and the peopleוְהָעָם֙ve.ha.'AmH5971,transgressedלִמְעָלlim.'ol-H4603veryמַ֔עַלMa.'alH4604muchהִרְבּ֣וּhir.BuH7235after all the abominationsתֹּעֲב֣וֹתto.'a.VotH8441of the heathenהַגּוֹיִ֑םha.go.YimH1471;and pollutedוַֽיְטַמְּאוּ֙vay.ta.me.'UH2930the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Yhwhיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068which he had hallowedהִקְדִּ֖ישׁhik.DishH6942in Jerusalemבִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃bi.ru.sha.LimH3389.

15And Yhwhיְהוָה֩Yah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵ֨י'e.lo.HeiH430of their fathersאֲבוֹתֵיהֶ֧ם'a.vo.tei.HemH1sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֡חvai.yish.LachH7971to them byבְּיַ֥דbe.YadH3027his messengersמַלְאָכָ֖יוmal.'a.KhavH4397,rising up betimesהַשְׁכֵּ֣םhash.KemH7925,and sendingוְשָׁל֑וֹחַve.sha.Lo.achH7971;because he had compassionחָמַ֥לcha.MalH2550on his peopleעַמּ֖וֹa.MoH5971,and on his dwelling placeמְעוֹנֽוֹ׃me.'o.NoH4583:

16But they mockedמַלְעִבִים֙mal.'i.VimH3931the messengersבְּמַלְאֲכֵ֣יbe.mal.'a.KheiH4397of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430,and despisedוּבוֹזִ֣יםu.vo.ZimH959his wordsדְּבָרָ֔יוde.va.RavH1697,and misusedוּמִֽתַּעְתְּעִ֖יםu.mi.ta'.te.'ImH8591his prophetsבִּנְבִאָ֑יוbin.vi.'AvH5030,until the wrathחֲמַת־cha.mat-H2534of Yhwhיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068aroseעֲל֧וֹתa.LotH5927against his peopleבְּעַמּ֖וֹbe.'a.MoH5971, till there wasno remedyמַרְפֵּֽא׃mar.Pe'H4832.

17Therefore he broughtוַיַּ֨עַלvai.Ya.'alH5927upon them the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of the Chaldeesכַּשְׂדִּ֗יםkas.di.yimH3778,who slewוַיַּהֲרֹ֨גvai.ya.ha.RogH2026their young menבַּחוּרֵיהֶ֤םba.chu.rei.HemH970with the swordבַּחֶ֙רֶב֙ba.Che.revH2719in the houseבְּבֵ֣יתbe.VeitH1004of their sanctuaryמִקְדָּשָׁ֔םmik.da.ShamH4720,and had no compassionחָמַ֛לcha.MalH2550upon young manבָּח֥וּרba.ChurH970or maidenוּבְתוּלָ֖הu.ve.tu.LahH1330,old manזָקֵ֣ןza.KenH2205,or him that stooped for ageוְיָשֵׁ֑שׁve.ya.SheshH3486:he gaveנָתַ֥ןna.TanH5414themall into his handבְּיָדֽוֹ׃be.ya.DoH3027.
