5So the LORDיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068his Godאֱלֹהָיו֮'e.lo.HavH430delivered Ahazוַֽיִּתְּנֵ֜הוּvai.yi.te.Ne.huH5414into the handבְּיַ֣דbe.YadH3027of the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Aramאֲרָם֒'a.RamH758,who attackedוַיַּ֨כּוּ־vai.Ya.ku-H5221himand tookוַיִּשְׁבּ֤וּ מִמֶּ֙נּוּ֙vai.yish.Bu mi.Me.nuH7617H4480manyגְדוֹלָ֔ה וַיָּבִ֖יאוּge.do.Lah vai.ya.Vi.'uH1419H935captivesשִׁבְיָ֣הshiv.YahH7633to Damascusדַּרְמָ֑שֶׂקdar.Ma.sekH1834.Ahaz was alsoוְ֠גַםVe.gamH1571deliveredנִתָּ֔ןni.TanH5414into the handבְּיַד־be.yad-H3027of the kingמֶ֤לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478,who struckוַיַּךְ־vai.yakh-H5221himwith greatגְדוֹלָֽה׃ סge.do.LahH1419forceמַכָּ֥הma.KahH4347.
6For in oneאֶחָ֖ד'e.ChadH259dayבְּי֥וֹםbe.YomH3117Pekahפֶּ֨קַחPe.kachH6492sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Remaliahרְמַלְיָ֜הוּre.mal.Ya.huH7425killedוַיַּהֲרֹג֩vai.ya.ha.RogH2026120,000מֵאָ֨ה וְעֶשְׂרִ֥ים אֶ֛לֶףme.'Ah ve.'es.Rim 'E.lefH3967H6242H505הַכֹּ֣לha.KolH3605valiantחָ֑יִלCha.yilH2428menבְּנֵי־be.nei-H1121in Judahבִּֽיהוּדָ֗הbi.hu.DahH3063. 7Zichriזִכְרִ֣י׀zikh.RiH2147אֶת־'et-H853,a mighty manגִּבּ֣וֹרgi.BorH1368of Ephraimאֶפְרַ֗יִם'ef.Ra.yimH669,killedוַֽיַּהֲרֹ֞גvai.ya.ha.RogH2026Maaseiahמַעֲשֵׂיָ֙הוּ֙ma.'a.se.Ya.huH4641the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853,Azrikamעַזְרִיקָ֖ם'az.ri.KamH5840the governorנְגִ֣ידne.GidH5057of the palaceהַבָּ֑יִתha.Ba.yitH1004וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853,and Elkanahאֶלְקָנָ֖ה'el.ka.NahH511the secondמִשְׁנֵ֥הmish.NehH4932to the kingהַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ סha.Me.lekhH4428.
8Then the Israelitesבְנֵֽי־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֨לve.nei- Yis.ra.'ElH1121H3478took 200,000מָאתַ֣יִם אֶ֗לֶףma.Ta.yim 'E.lefH3967H505captivesוַיִּשְׁבּוּ֩vai.yish.BuH7617from their kinsmenמֵֽאֲחֵיהֶ֜םme.'a.chei.HemH251—womenנָשִׁים֙na.ShimH802,sonsבָּנִ֣יםba.NimH1121,and daughtersוּבָנ֔וֹתu.va.NotH1323.They alsoוְגַם־ve.gam-H1571carried offבָּזְז֣וּba.ze.ZuH962a great deal ofרָ֖בravH7227plunderשָׁלָ֥לsha.LalH7998and broughtוַיָּבִ֥יאוּvai.ya.Vi.'uH935אֶת־'et-H853itהַשָּׁלָ֖לha.sha.LalH7998to Samariaלְשֹׁמְרֽוֹן׃ סle.sho.me.RonH8111.
9But a prophetנָבִ֥יאna.Vi'H5030of the LORDלַֽיהוָה֮la.Yah.wehH3068namedשְׁמוֹ֒she.MoH8034Odedעֹדֵ֣ד'o.DedH5752wasהָיָ֨הha.YahH1961thereוְ֠שָׁםVe.shomH8033,and he went outוַיֵּצֵ֗אvai.ye.Tze'H3318to meetלִפְנֵ֤יlif.NeiH6440the armyהַצָּבָא֙ha.tza.Va'H6635that returnedהַבָּ֣אha.Ba'H935to Samariaלְשֹׁמְר֔וֹןle.sho.me.RonH8111. “Lookהִ֠נֵּהHi.nehH2009,”he saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to them, “because of His wrathבַּחֲמַ֨תba.cha.MatH2534againstעַל־'al-H5921Judahיְהוּדָ֖הye.hu.DahH3063,the LORDיְהוָ֧הYah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵֽי־'e.lo.hei-H430of your fathersאֲבוֹתֵיכֶ֛ם'a.vo.tei.KhemH1,has delivered themנְתָנָ֣םne.ta.NamH5414into your handבְּיֶדְכֶ֑םbe.yed.KhemH3027.But you have slaughteredוַתַּֽהַרְגוּ־va.ta.har.gu-H2026themin a rageבְזַ֔עַףve.Za.'afH2197עַ֥ד'adH5704thatreaches upהִגִּֽיעַ׃hi.Gi.a'H5060to heavenלַשָּׁמַ֖יִםla.sha.Ma.yimH8064.
10And nowוְ֠עַתָּהVe.'a.tahH6258youאַתֶּ֣ם'a.TemH859intendאֹמְרִ֔ים'o.me.RimH559to reduce to slaveryלִכְבֹּ֛שׁlikh.BoshH3533the menלַעֲבָדִ֥יםla.'a.va.DimH5650and womenוְלִשְׁפָח֖וֹתve.lish.fa.ChotH8198בְּנֵֽי־be.nei-H1121of Judahיְהוּדָ֤הye.hu.DahH3063and Jerusalemוִֽירוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙vi.ru.sha.LimH3389.But are youאַתֶּם֙ עִמָּכֶ֣ם'a.Tem 'i.ma.KhemH859H5973notהֲלֹ֤אha.Lo'H3808alsoרַק־rak-H7535guiltyאֲשָׁמ֔וֹת'a.sha.MotH819before the LORDלַיהוָ֖הla.Yah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃'e.lo.hei.KhemH430?
11Now thereforeוְעַתָּ֣הve.'a.TahH6258,listen to meשְׁמָע֔וּנִיshe.ma.'U.niH8085and returnוְהָשִׁ֙יבוּ֙ve.ha.Shi.vuH7725the captivesהַשִּׁבְיָ֔הha.shiv.YahH7633אֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834you tookשְׁבִיתֶ֖םshe.vi.TemH7617from your kinsmenמֵאֲחֵיכֶ֑םme.'a.chei.KhemH251,forכִּ֛יkiH3588the fierce angerחֲר֥וֹן אַף־cha.Ron 'af-H2740H639of the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068is upon youעֲלֵיכֶֽם׃ ס'a.lei.KhemH5921.”

13“You must notלֹא־lo'-H3808bringתָבִ֤יאוּta.Vi.'uH935אֶת־'et-H853the captivesהַשִּׁבְיָה֙ha.shiv.YahH7633hereהֵ֔נָּהHe.nahH2008,”they saidוַיֹּאמְר֣וּvai.yo.me.RuH559, “forכִּי֩kiH3588youאַתֶּ֣ם'a.TemH859are proposingאֹמְרִ֔ים'o.me.RimH559to bring guiltלְאַשְׁמַ֨תle.'ash.MatH819upon usעָלֵ֙ינוּ֙'a.Lei.nuH5921from the LORDיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068and to addלְהֹסִ֥יףle.ho.SifH3254toעַל־'al-H5921our sinsחַטֹּאתֵ֖ינוּcha.to.Tei.nuH2403andוְעַל־ve.'al-H5921our guiltאַשְׁמָתֵ֑ינוּ'ash.ma.Tei.nuH819.Forכִּֽי־ki-H3588ourguiltאַשְׁמָה֙'ash.MahH819is greatרַבָּ֤הra.BahH7227,and fierce angerוַחֲר֥וֹן אָ֖ףva.cha.Ron 'afH2740H639is uponעַל־'al-H5921Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ סYis.ra.'ElH3478.”
14So the armed menהֶֽחָל֗וּץhe.cha.LutzH2502אֶת־'et-H853leftוַיַּעֲזֹ֣בvai.ya.'a.ZoH5800the captivesהַשִּׁבְיָה֙ha.shiv.YahH7633וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853and the plunderהַבִּזָּ֔הha.bi.ZahH961beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440the leadersהַשָּׂרִ֖יםha.sa.RimH8269and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605the assemblyהַקָּהָֽל׃ha.ka.HalH6951.
15Then the menהָאֲנָשִׁים֩ha.'a.na.ShimH582whoאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834were designatedנִקְּב֨וּni.ke.VuH5344by nameבְשֵׁמ֜וֹתve.she.MotH8034aroseוַיָּקֻ֣מוּvai.ya.Ku.muH6965,took chargeוַיַּחֲזִ֣יקוּvai.ya.cha.Zi.kuH2388of the captivesבַשִּׁבְיָ֗הva.shiv.YahH7633וְכָֽל־ve.kholH3605,and provided fromמִן־min-H4480the plunderהַשָּׁלָל֒ha.sha.LalH7998clothingהִלְבִּ֣ישׁוּhil.Bi.shuH3847for the nakedמַעֲרֻמֵּיהֶם֮ma.'a.ru.mei.HemH4636.They clothed themוַיַּלְבִּשׁ֣וּםvai.yal.bi.ShumH3847,gave them sandalsוַ֠יַּנְעִלוּםVai.yan.'i.lumH5274and foodוַיַּאֲכִל֨וּםvai.ya.'a.khi.LumH398and drinkוַיַּשְׁק֜וּםvai.yash.KumH8248,anointedוַיְסֻכ֗וּםvay.su.KhumH5480their wounds,and putוַיְנַהֲל֤וּםvay.na.ha.LumH5095allלְכָל־le.kholH3605the feebleכּוֹשֵׁ֔לko.ShelH3782on donkeysבַּחֲמֹרִים֙ba.cha.mo.RimH2543.So they brought themוַיְבִיא֛וּםvay.vi.'UmH935to Jerichoיְרֵח֥וֹye.re.ChoH3405,the CityH5892of PalmsH8558,toאֵ֣צֶל'E.tzelH681their brothersאֲחֵיהֶ֑ם'a.chei.HemH251.Then they returnedוַיָּשׁ֖וּבוּvai.ya.Shu.vuH7725to Samariaשֹׁמְרֽוֹן׃ פsho.me.RonH8111.
