6For Pekahפֶּ֨קַחPe.kachH6492the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Remaliahרְמַלְיָ֜הוּre.mal.Ya.huH7425slewוַיַּהֲרֹג֩vai.ya.ha.RogH2026in Judahבִּֽיהוּדָ֗הbi.hu.DahH3063an hundredמֵאָ֨הme.'AhH3967and twentyוְעֶשְׂרִ֥יםve.'es.RimH6242thousandאֶ֛לֶף'E.lefH505in oneאֶחָ֖ד'e.ChadH259dayבְּי֥וֹםbe.YomH3117, which wereall valiantחָ֑יִלCha.yilH2428menבְּנֵי־be.nei-H1121;because they had forsakenבְּעָזְבָ֕םbe.'a.ze.VamH5800Yhwhיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵ֥י'e.lo.HeiH430of their fathersאֲבוֹתָֽם׃'a.vo.TamH1.

8And the childrenבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֨לYis.ra.'ElH3478carried away captiveוַיִּשְׁבּוּ֩vai.yish.BuH7617of their brethrenמֵֽאֲחֵיהֶ֜םme.'a.chei.HemH251two hundredמָאתַ֣יִםma.Ta.yimH3967thousandאֶ֗לֶף'E.lefH505,womenנָשִׁים֙na.ShimH802,sonsבָּנִ֣יםba.NimH1121,and daughtersוּבָנ֔וֹתu.va.NotH1323,and took also awayבָּזְז֣וּba.ze.ZuH962muchרָ֖בravH7227spoilשָׁלָ֥לsha.LalH7998from them, and broughtוַיָּבִ֥יאוּvai.ya.Vi.'uH935the spoilהַשָּׁלָ֖לha.sha.LalH7998to Samariaלְשֹׁמְרֽוֹן׃ סle.sho.me.RonH8111.

9But a prophetנָבִ֥יאna.Vi'H5030of Yhwhלַֽיהוָה֮la.Yah.wehH3068was there, whose nameשְׁמוֹ֒she.MoH8034wasOdedעֹדֵ֣ד'o.DedH5752:and he went outוַיֵּצֵ֗אvai.ye.Tze'H3318beforeלִפְנֵ֤יlif.NeiH6440the armyהַצָּבָא֙ha.tza.Va'H6635that cameהַבָּ֣אha.Ba'H935to Samariaלְשֹׁמְר֔וֹןle.sho.me.RonH8111,and saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto them, Behold, because Yhwhיְהוָ֧הYah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵֽי־'e.lo.hei-H430of your fathersאֲבוֹתֵיכֶ֛ם'a.vo.tei.KhemH1was wrothבַּחֲמַ֨תba.cha.MatH2534with Judahיְהוּדָ֖הye.hu.DahH3063,he hath deliveredנְתָנָ֣םne.ta.NamH5414them into your handבְּיֶדְכֶ֑םbe.yed.KhemH3027,and ye have slainוַתַּֽהַרְגוּ־va.ta.har.gu-H2026them in a rageבְזַ֔עַףve.Za.'afH2197thatreacheth upהִגִּֽיעַ׃hi.Gi.a'H5060unto heavenלַשָּׁמַ֖יִםla.sha.Ma.yimH8064.

10And now ye purposeאֹמְרִ֔ים'o.me.RimH559to keep underלִכְבֹּ֛שׁlikh.BoshH3533the childrenבְּנֵֽי־be.nei-H1121of Judahיְהוּדָ֤הye.hu.DahH3063and Jerusalemוִֽירוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙vi.ru.sha.LimH3389for bondmenלַעֲבָדִ֥יםla.'a.va.DimH5650and bondwomenוְלִשְׁפָח֖וֹתve.lish.fa.ChotH8198unto you: but are therenot with you, evenרַק־rak-H7535with you, sinsאֲשָׁמ֔וֹת'a.sha.MotH819against Yhwhלַיהוָ֖הla.Yah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃'e.lo.hei.KhemH430?

11Now hearשְׁמָע֔וּנִיshe.ma.'U.niH8085me therefore, and deliverוְהָשִׁ֙יבוּ֙ve.ha.Shi.vuH7725the captivesהַשִּׁבְיָ֔הha.shiv.YahH7633again, which ye have taken captiveשְׁבִיתֶ֖םshe.vi.TemH7617of your brethrenמֵאֲחֵיכֶ֑םme.'a.chei.KhemH251:for the fierceחֲר֥וֹןcha.RonH2740wrathאַף־'af-H639of Yhwhיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068is upon you.

13And saidוַיֹּאמְר֣וּvai.yo.me.RuH559unto them, Ye shall not bring inתָבִ֤יאוּta.Vi.'uH935the captivesהַשִּׁבְיָה֙ha.shiv.YahH7633hither: for whereas we have offendedלְאַשְׁמַ֨תle.'ash.MatH819against Yhwhיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068already,ye intendאֹמְרִ֔ים'o.me.RimH559to addלְהֹסִ֥יףle.ho.SifH3254moreto our sinsחַטֹּאתֵ֖ינוּcha.to.Tei.nuH2403and to our trespassאַשְׁמָתֵ֑ינוּ'ash.ma.Tei.nuH819:for our trespassאַשְׁמָה֙'ash.MahH819is greatרַבָּ֤הra.BahH7227, and there isfierceוַחֲר֥וֹןva.cha.RonH2740wrathאָ֖ף'afH639against Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ סYis.ra.'ElH3478.

14So the armed menהֶֽחָל֗וּץhe.cha.LutzH2502leftוַיַּעֲזֹ֣בvai.ya.'a.ZoH5800the captivesהַשִּׁבְיָה֙ha.shiv.YahH7633and the spoilהַבִּזָּ֔הha.bi.ZahH961beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440the princesהַשָּׂרִ֖יםha.sa.RimH8269and all the congregationהַקָּהָֽל׃ha.ka.HalH6951.

15And the menהָאֲנָשִׁים֩ha.'a.na.ShimH582which were expressedנִקְּב֨וּni.ke.VuH5344by nameבְשֵׁמ֜וֹתve.she.MotH8034rose upוַיָּקֻ֣מוּvai.ya.Ku.muH6965,and tookוַיַּחֲזִ֣יקוּvai.ya.cha.Zi.kuH2388the captivesבַשִּׁבְיָ֗הva.shiv.YahH7633,and with the spoilהַשָּׁלָל֒ha.sha.LalH7998clothedהִלְבִּ֣ישׁוּhil.Bi.shuH3847all that were nakedמַעֲרֻמֵּיהֶם֮ma.'a.ru.mei.HemH4636among them, and arrayedוַיַּלְבִּשׁ֣וּםvai.yal.bi.ShumH3847them, and shodוַ֠יַּנְעִלוּםVai.yan.'i.lumH5274them, and gave them to eatוַיַּאֲכִל֨וּםvai.ya.'a.khi.LumH398and to drinkוַיַּשְׁק֜וּםvai.yash.KumH8248,and anointedוַיְסֻכ֗וּםvay.su.KhumH5480them, and carriedוַיְנַהֲל֤וּםvay.na.ha.LumH5095all the feebleכּוֹשֵׁ֔לko.ShelH3782of them upon donkeysבַּחֲמֹרִים֙ba.cha.mo.RimH2543,and broughtוַיְבִיא֛וּםvay.vi.'UmH935them to Jerichoיְרֵח֥וֹye.re.ChoH3405,the cityH5892of palm treesH5899 H8558,toאֵ֣צֶל'E.tzelH681their brethrenאֲחֵיהֶ֑ם'a.chei.HemH251:then they returnedוַיָּשׁ֖וּבוּvai.ya.Shu.vuH7725to Samariaשֹׁמְרֽוֹן׃ פsho.me.RonH8111.

16At that timeבָּעֵ֣תba.'EtH6256did kingהַמֶּ֧לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Ahazאָחָ֛ז'a.ChazH271sendשָׁלַ֞חsha.LachH7971unto the kingsמַלְכֵ֥יmal.KheiH4428of Assyriaאַשּׁ֖וּר'a.ShurH804to helpלַעְזֹ֥רla'.ZorH5826him.

17For again the Edomitesאֲדוֹמִ֖ים'a.do.MimH130had comeבָּ֑אוּBa.'uH935and smittenוַיַּכּ֥וּvai.ya.KuH5221Judahבִיהוּדָ֖הvi.hu.DahH3063,and carried awayוַיִּשְׁבּוּ־vai.yish.bu-H7617captivesשֶֽׁבִי׃She.viH7628.

18The Philistinesוּפְלִשְׁתִּ֣יםu.fe.lish.TimH6430also had invadedפָּשְׁט֗וּpa.she.TuH6584the citiesבְּעָרֵ֨יbe.'a.ReiH5892of the low countryהַשְּׁפֵלָ֣הha.she.fe.LahH8219,and of the southוְהַנֶּגֶב֮ve.ha.ne.GevH5045of Judahלִֽיהוּדָה֒li.hu.DahH3063,and had takenוַֽ֠יִּלְכְּדוּVai.yil.ke.duH3920Beth–shemeshH1053,and Ajalonאַיָּל֜וֹן'ai.ya.LonH357,and Gederothהַגְּדֵר֗וֹתha.ge.de.RotH1450,and Shochoשׂוֹכ֤וֹso.KhoH7755with the villagesוּבְנוֹתֶ֙יהָ֙u.ve.no.Tei.haH1323thereof, and Timnahתִּמְנָ֣הtim.NahH8553with the villagesוּבְנוֹתֶ֔יהָu.ve.no.Tei.haH1323thereof, Gimzoגִּמְז֖וֹgim.ZoH1579also and the villagesבְּנֹתֶ֑יהָbe.no.Tei.haH1323thereof: and they dweltוַיֵּשְׁב֖וּvai.ye.she.VuH3427there.
