12When Athaliahעֲתַלְיָ֗הוּ'a.tal.Ya.huH6271אֶת־'et-H853heardוַתִּשְׁמַ֣עva.tish.Ma'H8085the noiseק֤וֹלKolH6963of the peopleהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971runningהָֽרָצִ֔יםha.ra.TzimH7323and cheeringוְהַֽמְהַֽלְלִ֖יםve.ham.ha.LimH1984אֶת־'et-H853the kingהַמֶּ֑לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428,she went outוַתָּב֥וֹאva.ta.Vo'H935toאֶל־'el-H413themהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971in the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of the LORDיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

13And she lookedוַתֵּ֡רֶאva.Te.re'H7200and sawוְהִנֵּ֣הve.hi.NehH2009the kingהַמֶּלֶךְ֩ha.me.leKhH4428standingעוֹמֵ֨דo.MedH5975byעַֽל־'al-H5921his pillarעַמּוּד֜וֹa.mu.DoH5982at the entranceבַּמָּב֗וֹאba.ma.Vo'H3996.The officersוְהַשָּׂרִ֣יםve.ha.sa.RimH8269and trumpetersוְהַחֲצֹצְרוֹת֮ve.ha.cha.tzo.tze.rOtH2689were besideעַל־'al-H5921the kingהַמֶּלֶךְ֒ha.me.leKhH4428,and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605the peopleעַ֨ם'amH5971of the landהָאָ֜רֶץha.'A.retzH776were rejoicingשָׂמֵ֗חַsa.Me.achH8056and blowingוְתוֹקֵ֙עַ֙ve.to.Ke.a'H8628trumpetsבַּחֲצֹ֣צְר֔וֹתba.cha.Tzo.tze.RotH2689,while the singersוְהַמְשֽׁוֹרֲרִים֙ve.ham.sho.ra.RimH7891with musicalהַשִּׁ֔ירha.ShirH7892instrumentsבִּכְלֵ֣יbikh.LeiH3627were leadingוּמוֹדִיעִ֖יםu.mo.di.'ImH3045the praisesלְהַלֵּ֑לle.ha.LelH1984.Then Athaliahעֲתַלְיָ֙הוּ֙'a.tal.Ya.huH6271אֶת־'et-H853toreוַתִּקְרַ֤עva.tik.Ra'H7167her clothesבְּגָדֶ֔יהָbe.ga.Dei.haH899and screamedוַתֹּ֖אמֶרva.To.merH559, “Treasonקֶ֥שֶׁרKe.sherH7195,treasonקָֽשֶׁר׃ סKa.sherH7195!”

14And Jehoiadaיְהוֹיָדָ֨עye.ho.ya.Da'H3077the priestהַכֹּהֵ֜ןha.ko.HenH3548אֶת־'et-H853sent outוַיּוֹצֵא֩vai.yo.Tze'H3318the commandersשָׂרֵ֥יsa.ReiH8269of hundredsהַמֵּא֣וֹת׀ha.me.'otH3967in charge ofפְּקוּדֵ֣יpe.ku.DeiH6485the armyהַחַ֗יִלha.Cha.yilH2428,sayingוַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֲלֵהֶם֙vai.Yo.mer 'a.le.HemH559 H413, “Bring her outהֽוֹצִיא֙וּהָ֙ אֶל־ho.tzi.'U.ha 'el-H3318 H413betweenמִבֵּ֣יתmi.BeitH1004the ranksהַשְּׂדֵר֔וֹתha.se.de.RotH7713,and put toיוּמַ֣תyu.MatH4191the swordבֶּחָ֑רֶבbe.Cha.revH2719anyone who followsוְהַבָּ֥אve.ha.Ba'H935herאַחֲרֶ֖יהָ'a.cha.Rei.haH310.”Forכִּ֚יkiH3588the priestהַכֹּהֵ֔ןha.ko.HenH3548had saidאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559, “She must notלֹ֥אlo'H3808be put to deathתְמִית֖וּהָte.mi.Tu.haH4191in the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of the LORDיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.”

15So they seizedוַיָּשִׂ֤ימוּvai.ya.Si.muH7760Athaliahיָדַ֔יִםya.Da.yimH3027as she reachedוַתָּב֛וֹא אֶל־va.ta.Vo' 'el-H935 H413the entranceמְב֥וֹאme.Vo'H3996of the Horseהַסּוּסִ֖יםha.su.SimH5483Gateשַֽׁעַר־sha.'ar-H8179on the palace groundsבֵּ֣ית הַמֶּ֑לֶךְbeit ha.Me.lekhH4428 H1004,and thereשָֽׁם׃ פShamH8033they put her to deathוַיְמִית֖וּהָvay.mi.Tu.haH4191.

16Then Jehoiadaיְהוֹיָדָע֙ye.ho.ya.Da'H3077madeוַיִּכְרֹ֤תvai.yikh.RotH3772a covenantבְּרִ֔יתbe.RitH1285between himselfבֵּינ֕וֹbei.NoH996andוּבֵ֥ין כָּל־u.Vein kol-H996 H3605the kingהַמֶּ֑לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428and the peopleהָעָ֖ם וּבֵ֣יןha.'Am u.VeinH5971 H996that they would beלִהְי֥וֹתlih.YotH1961the LORD’sלַיהוָֽה׃la.Yah.wehH3068peopleלְעָ֖םle.'AmH5971.

17So allכָל־khol-H3605the peopleהָעָ֤םha.'AmH5971wentוַיָּבֹ֨אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935to the templeבֵּית־beit-H1004of Baalהַבַּ֙עַל֙ha.Ba.'alH1168and tore it downוַֽיִּתְּצֻ֔הוּvai.yi.te.Tzu.huH5422וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853.They smashed the altarsמִזְבְּחֹתָ֥יוmiz.be.cho.TavH4196וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853and idolsצְלָמָ֖יוtze.la.MavH6754to piecesשִׁבֵּ֑רוּshi.Be.ruH7665וְאֵ֗תve.'EtH853and killedהָרְג֖וּha.re.GuH2026Mattanמַתָּן֙ma.TanH4977the priestכֹּהֵ֣ןko.HenH3548of Baalהַבַּ֔עַלha.Ba.'alH1168in front ofלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440the altarsהַֽמִּזְבְּחֽוֹת׃Ha.miz.be.ChotH4196.

18Moreover, Jehoiadaיְהוֹיָדָ֨עye.ho.ya.Da'H3077putוַיָּשֶׂם֩vai.ya.SemH7760the oversightפְּקֻדֹּ֜תpe.ku.DotH6486of the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of the LORDיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068into the handsבְּיַ֨דbe.YadH3027of the Leviticalהַלְוִיִּם֮hal.vi.YimH3881priestsהַכֹּהֲנִ֣יםha.ko.ha.NimH3548,whomאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834Davidדָּוִיד֮da.VidH1732had appointedחָלַ֣קcha.LakH2505overעַל־'al-H5921the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of the LORDיְהוָה֒Yah.wehH3068,to offerלְֽהַעֲל֞וֹתle.ha.'a.LotH5927burnt offeringsעֹל֣וֹתo.LotH5930to the LORDיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068as writtenכַּכָּת֛וּבka.ka.TuvH3789in the Lawבְּתוֹרַ֥תbe.to.RatH8451of Mosesמֹשֶׁ֖הmo.ShehH4872,with rejoicingבְּשִׂמְחָ֣הbe.sim.ChahH8057and songוּבְשִׁ֑יר עַ֖לu.ve.Shir 'alH7892 H5921,as ordainedיְדֵ֥יye.DeiH3027by Davidדָוִֽיד׃da.VidH1732.

19He stationedוַֽיַּעֲמֵד֙vai.ya.'a.MedH5975gatekeepersהַשּׁ֣וֹעֲרִ֔יםha.Sho.'a.RimH7778atעַֽל־'al-H5921the gatesשַׁעֲרֵ֖יsha.'a.ReiH8179of the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of the LORDיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,so that no oneוְלֹֽא־ve.lo'-H3808who wasin anyלְכָל־le.kholH3605wayדָּבָֽר׃da.VarH1697uncleanטָמֵ֖אta.Me'H2931could enterיָבֹ֥אya.Vo'H935.

20And he took with himוַיִּקַּ֣חvai.yi.KachH3947אֶת־'et-H853the commandersשָׂרֵ֣יsa.ReiH8269of hundredsהַמֵּא֡וֹתha.me.'otH3967וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853,the noblesהָֽאַדִּירִים֩ha.'a.di.RimH117וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853,the rulersהַמּֽוֹשְׁלִ֨יםha.mo.she.LimH4910of the peopleבָּעָ֜םba.'AmH5971וְאֵ֣ת׀ve.'EtH853,and allכָּל־kol-H3605the peopleעַ֣ם'amH5971of the landהָאָ֗רֶץha.'A.retzH776,and they brought the kingהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428downוַיּ֤וֹרֶדvai.Yo.redH3381אֶת־'et-H853from the houseמִבֵּ֣יתmi.BeitH1004of the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068and enteredוַיָּבֹ֛אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935the royalהַמֶּ֑לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428palaceבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004throughבְּתֽוֹךְ־be.tokh-H8432the Upperהָֽעֶלְי֖וֹןha.'el.YonH5945Gateשַׁ֥עַרSha.'arH8179.They seatedוַיּוֹשִׁ֙יבוּ֙vai.yo.Shi.vuH3427אֶת־'et-H853Kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Joashonעַ֖ל'alH5921the royalהַמַּמְלָכָֽה׃ha.mam.la.KhahH4467throneכִּסֵּ֥אki.Se'H3678,

21and allכָל־khol-H3605the peopleעַם־'am-H5971of the landהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776rejoicedוַיִּשְׂמְח֥וּvai.yis.me.ChuH8055.And the cityוְהָעִ֣ירve.ha.'IrH5892was quietשָׁקָ֑טָהsha.Ka.tahH8252וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853,because Athaliahעֲתַלְיָ֖הוּ'a.tal.Ya.huH6271had been put toהֵמִ֥יתוּhe.Mi.tuH4191the swordבֶחָֽרֶב׃ סve.Cha.revH2719.
