8In the days of Jehoramבְּיָמָיו֙be.ya.MavH3117,Edomאֱד֔וֹם'e.DomH123rebelledפָּשַׁ֣עpa.Sha'H6586againstמִתַּ֖חַתmi.Ta.chatH8478the handיַד־yad-H3027of Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063and appointedוַיַּמְלִ֥יכוּvai.yam.Li.khuH4427their ownעֲלֵיהֶ֖ם'a.lei.HemH5921kingמֶֽלֶךְ׃Me.lekhH4428.

9So Jehoramיְהוֹרָם֙ye.ho.RamH3088crossedוַיַּֽעֲבֹ֤רvai.ya.'a.VorH5674into Edomעִם־'im-H5973with his officersשָׂרָ֔יוsa.RavH8269and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605his chariotsהָרֶ֖כֶבha.Re.khevH7393.When the Edomitesאֱדוֹם֙'e.dOmH123surroundedהַסּוֹבֵ֣בha.so.VevH5437himאֵלָ֔יו'e.LavH413andאֶת־'et-H853his chariotהָרָֽכֶב׃ha.Ra.khevH7393commandersעִמּ֑וֹ וַיְהִי֙ שָׂרֵ֥יi.Mo vay.Hi sa.ReiH8269 H5973 H1961,he rose upקָ֣םkamH6965and attackedוַיַּ֗ךְvai.YakhH5221by nightלַ֔יְלָהLay.lahH3915וְאֵ֖תve.'EtH853.

10So toעַ֚ד'adH5704thisהַזֶּ֔הha.ZehH2088dayהַיּ֣וֹםhai.YomH3117Edomאֱד֜וֹם'e.DomH123has been in rebellionוַיִּפְשַׁ֨עvai.yif.Sha'H6586againstמִתַּ֣חַתmi.Ta.chatH8478the hand ofיַד־yad-H3027Judahיְהוּדָ֗הye.hu.DahH3063.Likewiseאָ֣ז'azH227,Libnahלִבְנָ֛הliv.NahH3841rebelledתִּפְשַׁ֥עtif.Sha'H6586againstמִתַּ֣חַתmi.Ta.chatH8478his handיָד֑וֹya.DoH3027at the sameהַהִ֖יאha.Hi'H1931timeבָּעֵ֥תba.'EtH6256,becauseכִּ֣יkiH3588Jehoramhad forsakenעָזַ֔ב'a.ZavH5800אֶת־'et-H853the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֥י'e.lo.HeiH430of his fathersאֲבֹתָֽיו׃'a.vo.TavH1.

11Jehoramה֥וּאhu'H1931had alsoגַּם־gam-H1571builtעָשָֽׂה־'a.sah-H6213high placesבָמ֖וֹתva.MotH1116on the hillsבְּהָרֵ֣יbe.ha.ReiH2022of Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063;he had caused the peopleיֹשְׁבֵ֣יyo.she.VeiH3427of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֔םye.ru.sha.LimH3389to prostitute themselvesוַיֶּ֙זֶן֙vai.Ye.zenH2181אֶת־'et-H853and had led Judahיְהוּדָֽה׃ פye.hu.DahH3063astrayוַיַּדַּ֖חvai.ya.DachH5080אֶת־'et-H853.

12Then a letterמִכְתָּ֔בmikh.TavH4385cameוַיָּבֹ֤אvai.ya.Vo'H935toאֵלָיו֙'e.LavH413Jehoramfrom Elijahמֵֽאֵלִיָּ֥הוּme.'e.li.Ya.huH452the prophetהַנָּבִ֖יאha.na.Vi'H5030,which statedלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559: “This is whatכֹּ֣ה׀kohH3541the LORDיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵי֙'e.lo.HeiH430of your fatherאָבִ֔יךָ'a.Vi.khaH1Davidדָּוִ֣ידda.VidH1732,saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559תַּ֗חַתTa.chatH8478אֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834: ‘You have notלֹֽא־lo'-H3808walkedהָלַ֙כְתָּ֙ha.Lakh.taH1980in the waysבְּדַרְכֵי֙be.dar.KheiH1870of your fatherאָבִ֔יךָ'a.Vi.khaH1Jehoshaphatיְהוֹשָׁפָ֣טye.ho.sha.FatH3092orוּבְדַרְכֵ֖יu.ve.dar.KheiH1870of Asaאָסָ֥א'a.Sa'H609kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Judahיְהוּדָֽה׃ye.hu.DahH3063,

13but you have walkedוַתֵּ֗לֶךְva.Te.lekhH1980in the waysבְּדֶ֙רֶךְ֙be.De.rekhH1870of the kingsמַלְכֵ֣יmal.KheiH4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478and have caused Judahיְהוּדָה֙ye.hu.DahH3063אֶת־'et-H853and the peopleיֹשְׁבֵ֣יyo.she.VeiH3427of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֔םye.ru.sha.LimH3389to prostitute themselvesוַתַּזְנֶ֤הva.taz.NehH2181וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853,just as the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Ahabאַחְאָ֑ב'ach.'AvH256prostituted itselfכְּהַזְנ֖וֹתke.haz.NotH2181.You have alsoוְגַ֨םve.GamH1571אֶת־'et-H853killedהָרָֽגְתָּ׃ha.Ra.ge.taH2026your brothersאַחֶ֧יךָ'a.Chei.khaH251,your father’sאָבִ֛יךָ'a.Vi.khaH1familyבֵית־veit-H1004,who were betterהַטּוֹבִ֥יםha.to.VimH2896than youמִמְּךָ֖mi.me.KhaH4480.

14So beholdהִנֵּ֣הhi.NehH2009,the LORDיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068is about to strikeנֹגֵ֛ףno.GefH5062your peopleבְּעַמֶּ֑ךָbe.'a.Me.khaH5971,your sonsוּבְבָנֶ֥יךָu.ve.va.Nei.khaH1121,your wivesוּבְנָשֶׁ֖יךָu.ve.na.Shei.khaH802,and allוּבְכָל־u.ve.Khol-H3605your possessionsרְכוּשֶֽׁךָ׃re.khu.She.khaH7399with a seriousגְדוֹלָ֖הge.do.LahH1419blowמַגֵּפָ֥הma.ge.FahH4046.

15And dayיָמִ֖יםya.MimH3117afterעַל־'al-H5921dayיָמִֽים׃ya.MimH3117you yourselfוְאַתָּ֛הve.'a.TahH859will suffer from a severeרַבִּ֖יםra.BimH7227illnessבָּחֳלָיִ֥יםbo.cho.la.YimH2483,a diseaseבְּמַחֲלֵ֣הbe.ma.cha.LehH4245of your bowelsמֵעֶ֑יךָme.'Ei.khaH4578,untilעַד־'ad-H5704itהַחֹ֔לִיha.Cho.liH2483causesמִן־min-H4480your bowelsמֵעֶ֙יךָ֙me.'Ei.khaH4578to come outיֵצְא֤וּye.tze.'UH3318.’”

16Then the LORDיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068stirredוַיָּ֨עַרvai.Ya.'arH5782againstעַל־'al-H5921Jehoramיְהוֹרָ֗םye.ho.RamH3088אֵ֣ת'etH853the spiritר֤וּחַRu.achH7307of the Philistinesהַפְּלִשְׁתִּים֙ha.pe.lish.TimH6430and Arabsוְהָ֣עַרְבִ֔יםve.Ha.'ar.VimH6163whoאֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל־'a.Sher 'al-H834 H5921lived nearיַ֥דyadH3027the Cushitesכּוּשִֽׁים׃ku.ShimH3569.

17So they went to warוַיַּעֲל֤וּvai.ya.'a.LuH5927against Judahבִֽיהוּדָה֙vi.hu.DahH3063,invaded itוַיִּבְקָע֔וּהָvai.yiv.ka.'U.haH1234,and carried offוַיִּשְׁבּ֗וּvai.yish.BuH7617אֵ֤ת'etH853allכָּל־kol-H3605the possessionsהָרְכוּשׁ֙ha.re.KhushH7399foundהַנִּמְצָ֣אha.nim.Tza'H4672in the king’sהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428palaceלְבֵית־le.veit-H1004,along withוְגַם־ve.gam-H1571his sonsבָּנָ֖יוba.NavH1121and wivesוְנָשָׁ֑יוve.na.ShavH802;notוְלֹ֤אve.Lo'H3808a sonבֵּ֔ןBenH1121was leftנִשְׁאַר־nish.'ar-H7604to himexceptכִּ֥י אִם־ki 'im-H3588 H518Jehoahazיְהוֹאָחָ֖זye.ho.'a.ChazH3059,his youngestקְטֹ֥ןke.TonH6996בָּנָֽיו׃ba.NavH1121.

18Afterוְאַחֲרֵ֖יve.'a.cha.ReiH310allכָּל־kol-H3605thisזֹ֑אתZotH2063,the LORDיְהוָ֧ה׀Yah.wehH3068afflictedנְגָפ֨וֹne.ga.FoH5062Jehoramwith an incurableלְאֵ֥ין מַרְפֵּֽא׃le.'Ein mar.Pe'H369 H4832diseaseלָחֳלִ֖יlo.cho.LiH2483of the bowelsבְּמֵעָ֛יוbe.me.'AvH4578.

19This continuedוַיְהִ֣יvay.HiH1961dayלְיָמִ֣ים׀le.ya.MimH3117after dayמִיָּמִ֡ים וּכְעֵת֩mi.ya.Mim u.khe.'EtH3117 H6256until twoשְׁנַ֗יִםshe.Na.yimH8147full yearsלְיָמִ֣יםle.ya.MimH3117had passedצֵ֨אתtzetH3318.Finallyהַקֵּ֜ץha.KetzH7093,his intestinesמֵעָיו֙me.'AvH4578came outיָצְא֤וּya.tze.'UH3318because ofעִם־'im-H5973his diseaseחָלְי֔וֹchal.YoH2483,and he diedוַיָּ֖מָתvai.Ya.motH4191in severeרָעִ֑יםra.'ImH7451painבְּתַחֲלֻאִ֣יםbe.ta.cha.lu.'ImH8463.And his peopleעַמּ֛וֹa.MoH5971did notוְלֹא־ve.lo'-H3808makeעָ֨שׂוּ'A.suH6213a fireשְׂרֵפָ֖הse.re.FahH8316in his honoras they had doneכִּשְׂרֵפַ֥תkis.re.FatH8316for his fathersאֲבֹתָֽיו׃'a.vo.TavH1.
