Numbers 35:6-29
6And the citiesH5892 which ye shall giveH5414 unto the LevitesH3881, they shall be the sixH8337 citiesH5892 of refugeH4733, which ye shall giveH5414 for the manslayer to fleeH5127 unto: and besides them ye shall giveH5414 fortyH705 and twoH8147 citiesH5892. 7All the citiesH5892 which ye shall giveH5414 to the LevitesH3881 shall be fortyH705 and eightH8083 citiesH5892; them shall ye giveH5414 with their suburbs. 8And concerning the citiesH5892 which ye shall giveH5414 of the possessionH272 of the children of IsraelH3478, from the manyH7227 ye shall takeH5157 manyH7227; and from the fewH4592 ye shall takeH5157 fewH4592: every oneH376 according to his inheritanceH5159 which he inheriteth shall giveH5414 of his citiesH5892 unto the LevitesH3881.
9And Jehovah spake unto MosesH4872, sayingH559, 10SpeakH1696 unto the children of IsraelH3478, and sayH559 unto them, When ye passH5674 over the JordanH3383 into the landH776 of CanaanH3667, 11then ye shall appoint you citiesH5892 to beH1961 citiesH5892 of refugeH4733 for you, that the manslayer that killeth any personH5315 unwittingly may fleeH5127 thither. 12And the citiesH5892 shall beH1961 unto you for refugeH4733 from the avengerH1350, that the manslayer dieH4191 not, until he standH5975 before the congregationH5712 for judgmentH4941. 13And the citiesH5892 which ye shall giveH5414 shall beH1961 for you sixH8337 citiesH5892 of refugeH4733. 14Ye shall giveH5414 threeH7969 citiesH5892 beyond the JordanH3383, and threeH7969 citiesH5892 shall ye giveH5414 in the landH776 of CanaanH3667; they shall beH1961 citiesH5892 of refugeH4733. 15For the children of IsraelH3478, and for the stranger and for the sojourner among them, shall these sixH8337 citiesH5892 beH1961 for refugeH4733; that every one that killeth any personH5315 unwittingly may fleeH5127 thither.
16But if he smote him with an instrument of ironH1270, so that he diedH4191, he is a murdererH7523: the murdererH7523 shall surely be putH4191 to deathH4191. 17And if he smote him with a stoneH68 in the handH3027, whereby a man may dieH4191, and he diedH4191, he is a murdererH7523: the murdererH7523 shall surely be putH4191 to deathH4191. 18Or if he smote him with a weaponH3627 of woodH6086 in the handH3027, whereby a man may dieH4191, and he diedH4191, he is a murdererH7523: the murdererH7523 shall surely be putH4191 to deathH4191. 19The avengerH1350 of bloodH1818 shall himself putH4191 the murdererH7523 to deathH4191: when he meeteth him, he shall putH4191 him to deathH4191. 20And if he thrust him of hatredH8135, or hurled at him, lying in waitH6660, so that he diedH4191, 21or in enmityH342 smote him with his handH3027, so that he diedH4191; he that smote him shall surely be putH4191 to deathH4191; he is a murdererH7523: the avengerH1350 of bloodH1818 shall putH4191 the murdererH7523 to deathH4191, when he meeteth him.
22But if he thrust him suddenlyH6621 without enmityH342, or hurled upon him anything without lying in waitH6660, 23or with any stoneH68, whereby a man may dieH4191, seeingH7200 him not, and castH5307 it upon him, so that he diedH4191, and he was not his enemyH341, neither soughtH1245 his harmH7451; 24then the congregationH5712 shall judgeH8199 between the smiter and the avengerH1350 of bloodH1818 according to these ordinancesH4941; 25and the congregationH5712 shall deliverH5337 the manslayer out of the handH3027 of the avengerH1350 of bloodH1818, and the congregationH5712 shall restoreH7725 him to his cityH5892 of refugeH4733, whither he was fledH5127: and he shall dwellH3427 therein until the deathH4194 of the high priestH3548, who was anointedH4886 with the holyH6944 oilH8081. 26But if the manslayer shall at any time goH3318 beyond the borderH1366 of his cityH5892 of refugeH4733, whither he fleeth, 27and the avengerH1350 of bloodH1818 findH4672 him without the borderH1366 of his cityH5892 of refugeH4733, and the avengerH1350 of bloodH1818 slay the manslayer; he shall not be guilty of bloodH1818, 28because he should have remainedH3427 in his cityH5892 of refugeH4733 until the deathH4194 of the high priestH3548: but after the deathH4194 of the high priestH3548 the manslayer shall returnH7725 into the landH776 of his possessionH272.
29And these thingsH428 shall beH1961 for a statuteH2708andordinanceH4941 unto you throughout your generationsH1755 in all your dwellingsH4186.
