Numbers 35:16-34
16But if he smote him with an instrument of ironH1270, so that he diedH4191, he is a murdererH7523: the murdererH7523 shall surely be putH4191 to deathH4191. 17And if he smote him with a stoneH68 in the handH3027, whereby a man may dieH4191, and he diedH4191, he is a murdererH7523: the murdererH7523 shall surely be putH4191 to deathH4191. 18Or if he smote him with a weaponH3627 of woodH6086 in the handH3027, whereby a man may dieH4191, and he diedH4191, he is a murdererH7523: the murdererH7523 shall surely be putH4191 to deathH4191. 19The avengerH1350 of bloodH1818 shall himself putH4191 the murdererH7523 to deathH4191: when he meeteth him, he shall putH4191 him to deathH4191. 20And if he thrust him of hatredH8135, or hurled at him, lying in waitH6660, so that he diedH4191, 21or in enmityH342 smote him with his handH3027, so that he diedH4191; he that smote him shall surely be putH4191 to deathH4191; he is a murdererH7523: the avengerH1350 of bloodH1818 shall putH4191 the murdererH7523 to deathH4191, when he meeteth him.
22But if he thrust him suddenlyH6621 without enmityH342, or hurled upon him anything without lying in waitH6660, 23or with any stoneH68, whereby a man may dieH4191, seeingH7200 him not, and castH5307 it upon him, so that he diedH4191, and he was not his enemyH341, neither soughtH1245 his harmH7451; 24then the congregationH5712 shall judgeH8199 between the smiter and the avengerH1350 of bloodH1818 according to these ordinancesH4941; 25and the congregationH5712 shall deliverH5337 the manslayer out of the handH3027 of the avengerH1350 of bloodH1818, and the congregationH5712 shall restoreH7725 him to his cityH5892 of refugeH4733, whither he was fledH5127: and he shall dwellH3427 therein until the deathH4194 of the high priestH3548, who was anointedH4886 with the holyH6944 oilH8081. 26But if the manslayer shall at any time goH3318 beyond the borderH1366 of his cityH5892 of refugeH4733, whither he fleeth, 27and the avengerH1350 of bloodH1818 findH4672 him without the borderH1366 of his cityH5892 of refugeH4733, and the avengerH1350 of bloodH1818 slay the manslayer; he shall not be guilty of bloodH1818, 28because he should have remainedH3427 in his cityH5892 of refugeH4733 until the deathH4194 of the high priestH3548: but after the deathH4194 of the high priestH3548 the manslayer shall returnH7725 into the landH776 of his possessionH272.
29And these thingsH428 shall beH1961 for a statuteH2708andordinanceH4941 unto you throughout your generationsH1755 in all your dwellingsH4186. 30Whoso killeth any personH5315, the murdererH7523 shall be slain at the mouthH6310 of witnessesH5707: but oneH259 witnessH5707 shall not testifyH6030 against any personH5315 that he dieH4191. 31Moreover ye shall takeH3947 no ransomH3724 for the lifeH5315 of a murdererH7523, that is guiltyH7563 of deathH4191; but he shall surely be putH4191 to deathH4191. 32And ye shall takeH3947 no ransomH3724 for him that is fledH5127 to his cityH5892 of refugeH4733, that he may come again to dwellH3427 in the landH776, until the deathH4194 of the priestH3548. 33So ye shall not polluteH2610 the landH776 wherein ye are: for bloodH1818, it polluteth the landH776; and no expiation can be made for the landH776 for the bloodH1818 that is shedH8210 therein, but by the bloodH1818 of him that shedH8210 it. 34And thou shalt not defileH2930 the landH776 which ye inhabitH3427, in the midstH8432 of which I dwellH3427: for I, Jehovah, dwellH3427 in the midstH8432 of the children of IsraelH3478.
