Mark 1:1-13
The beginning of the gospelG2098 of JesusG2424 ChristG5547, the Son of God.
Even as it is writtenG1125 in IsaiahG2268 the prophetG4396,
JohnG2491 cameG1096, who baptizedG907 in the wildernessG2048 and preachedG2784 the baptismG908 of repentanceG3341 unto remission of sinsG266. 5And there wentG1607 out unto him all the countryG5561 of Judæa, and all they of JerusalemG2415; and they were baptizedG907 of him in the riverG4215 JordanG2446, confessingG1843 their sinsG266. 6And JohnG2491 wasG1510 clothed with camel’sG2574 hairG2359, and had a leathern girdle about his loinsG3751, and did eatG2068 locustsG200 and wildG66 honeyG3192. 7And he preachedG2784, sayingG3004, There cometh after me he that isG1510 mightierG2478 than I, the latchet of whose shoes I amG1510 not worthyG2425 to stoopG2955 downG2955 and unloose. 8I baptizedG907 you in waterG5204; but he shall baptizeG907 you in the HolyG40 SpiritG4151.
And it cameG2064 to passG1096 in those daysG2250, that JesusG2424 cameG2064 from NazarethG3478 of GalileeG1056, and was baptizedG907 of JohnG2491 in the JordanG2446. 10And straightway comingG2597 up out of the waterG5204, he sawG3708 the heavensG3772 rent asunder, and the SpiritG4151 as a doveG4058 descendingG2597 upon him: 11and a voiceG5456 cameG1096 out of the heavensG3772, Thou art my belovedG27 SonG5207, in thee I amG1510 well pleased.
And straightway the SpiritG4151 driveth him forth into the wildernessG2048. 13And he wasG1510 in the wildernessG2048 fortyG5062 daysG2250 temptedG3985 of SatanG4567; and he wasG1510 with the wildG2342 beastsG2342; and the angelsG32 ministeredG1247 unto him.
