Prophecy of Moab’s Devastation
11SendH7971 the tribute lambH3733 to the rulerH4910 of the landH776, From 23SelaH5554 by way of the wildernessH4057 to the 4mountainH2022 of the daughterH1323 of ZionH6726.2Then, like 5flutteringH5074 birdsH5775 or scatteredH7971 nestlingsH7064, The daughtersH1323 of 6MoabH4124 will be at the crossingH4569 placesH4569 of the 7ArnonH769.3“8GiveH935 us adviceH6098, makeH6213 a decisionH6415; 9CastH7896 your 10shadowH6738 like nightH3915 11at highH8432 noonH6672; 12HideH5641 the outcastsH5080, do not betrayH1540 the fugitiveH5074.4Let the 13outcastsH5080 of MoabH4124 stayH1481 with you; Be a hidingH5643 placeH5643 to them from the destroyerH7703.” For the oppressorH4671 has comeH656 toH656 anH656 endH656, destructionH7701 has ceasedH3615, 14OppressorsH7429 have been removedH8552 from the landH776.5A 15throneH3678 will be establishedH3559 in faithfulnessH2617, And a judgeH8199 will sitH3427 on it in trustworthinessH571 in the tentH168 of 16DavidH1732; Moreover, he will seekH1875 justiceH4941, And be promptH4106 in righteousnessH6664.
617We have heardH8085 of the prideH1347 of MoabH4124, an excessiveH3966 prideH1343; Even of his arroganceH1346, prideH1347, and furyH5678; 18His idleH907 boastsH907 are 19falseH3808H3653.7ThereforeH3651 MoabH4124 will wailH3213; everyoneH3605 of MoabH4124 will wailH3213. You will moanH1897 for the 20raisinH809 cakesH809 of 21Kir-haresethH7025 As those who are utterlyH389 strickenH5218.8For the fieldsH7709 of 22HeshbonH2809 have 23witheredH535, the vinesH1612 of 24SibmahH7643 as well; The lordsH1167 of the nationsH1471 have trampledH1986 downH1986 its choiceH8291 clustersH8291 Which reachedH5060 as farH5704 as JazerH3270 and wanderedH8582 to the desertsH4057; 25Its 26tendrilsH7976 spreadH5203 themselves outH5203 and passedH5674 overH5674 the seaH3220.9ThereforeH5921H3651 I will 27weepH1058 bitterlyH1065 for JazerH3270, for the vineH1612 of SibmahH7643; I will drenchH7301 you with my tearsH1832, 28HeshbonH2809 and ElealehH500; For the shoutingH1959 overH5921 your 29summerH7019 fruitsH7019 and your harvestH7105 has fallenH5307 awayH5307.1030GladnessH8057 and joyH1524 are takenH622 awayH622 from the fruitfulH3759 fieldH3759; In the 31vineyardsH3754 also there will beH7442 noH3808 criesH7442 ofH7442 joyH7442 or jubilantH7321 shoutingH7321, NoH3808 32treaderH1869 treadsH1869 out wineH3196 in the pressesH3342, For I have made the shoutingH1959 to ceaseH7673.11ThereforeH5921H3651 my 3334innerH4578 beingH4578 soundsH1993 like a harpH3658 for MoabH4124. And my 35heartH7130 for Kir-haresethH7025.12So it will comeH1961 aboutH1961 whenH3588 MoabH4124 36presentsH7200 himself, WhenH3588 he 37tiresH3811 himself upon his 38highH1116 placeH1116 And comesH935 to his sanctuaryH4720 to prayH6419, That he will not prevailH3201.
13ThisH2088 is the wordH1697 whichH834 the LordH3068 spokeH1696 earlierH3975 concerningH413 MoabH4124. 14But nowH6258 the LordH3068 has spokenH1696, sayingH559, “Within threeH7969 yearsH8141, as 3940a hiredH7916 workerH7916 would countH8141 them, the gloryH3519 of 41MoabH4124 will becomeH7034 contemptibleH7034 along with allH3605 his greatH7227 populationH1995, and his remnantH7605 will be veryH4213 smallH4592 and 42impotentH3808H3524.”
