18Seeוּרְאִיתֶ֥םu.re.'i.TemH7200whatמַה־mah-H4100the landהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776is like,and whether the peopleהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971who liveהַיֹּשֵׁ֣בhai.yo.ShevH3427in it are strongהֶחָזָ֥קhe.cha.ZakH2389or weakהֲרָפֶ֔הha.ra.PehH7504,whether they are fewהַמְעַ֥טham.'AtH4592orאִם־'im-H518manyרָֽב׃RavH7227.

22When they had goneH5927upH5927intothe Negevבַנֶּגֶב֮va.ne.GevH5045,they cameוַיָּבֹ֣אvai.ya.Vo'H935to Hebronחֶבְרוֹן֒chev.rOnH2275whereוְשָׁ֤םve.ShamH8033Ahimanאֲחִימַן֙'a.chi.ManH289,Sheshaiשֵׁשַׁ֣יshe.ShaiH8344,and Talmaiוְתַלְמַ֔יve.tal.MaiH8526, thedescendantsיְלִידֵ֖יye.li.DeiH3211ofAnakהָעֲנָ֑קha.'a.NakH6061were. 23Then they cameוַיָּבֹ֜אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935to theValleyנַ֣חַלNa.chalH5158ofEshcolאֶשְׁכֹּ֗ל'esh.KolH812,and from thereמִשָּׁ֤םmi.ShamH8033they cutוַיִּכְרְת֨וּvai.yikh.re.TuH3772offH3772a branchזְמוֹרָה֙ze.mo.RahH2156with a singleאֶחָ֔ד'e.ChadH259clusterוְאֶשְׁכּ֤וֹלve.'esh.KolH811of grapesעֲנָבִים֙'a.na.VimH6025;and they carriedוַיִּשָּׂאֻ֥הוּvai.yi.sa.'U.huH5375it on a poleבַמּ֖וֹטva.MotH4132between twoבִּשְׁנָ֑יִםbish.Na.yimH8147men,with someH4480of the pomegranatesהָרִמֹּנִ֖יםha.ri.mo.NimH7416and the figsהַתְּאֵנִֽים׃ha.te.'e.NimH8384.

24That placeלַמָּק֣וֹםla.ma.KomH4725was calledקָרָ֖אka.Ra'H7121the Valleyנַ֣חַלNa.chalH5158ofEshcolאֶשְׁכּ֑וֹל'esh.KolH812,becauseעַ֚ל אֹד֣וֹת'al 'o.DotH5921 H182of the clusterהָֽאֶשְׁכּ֔וֹלha.'esh.KolH811whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834the sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478cutכָּרְת֥וּka.re.TuH3772offH3772from thereמִשָּׁ֖םmi.ShamH8033.
