1“Whenכִּֽי־ki-H3588a manאִ֛ישׁ'ishH376takesיִקַּ֥חyi.KachH3947a wifeאִשָּׁ֖ה'i.ShahH802and marriesוּבְעָלָ֑הּu.ve.'a.LahH1166her, and it happensוְהָיָ֞הve.ha.YahH1961,if she findsתִמְצָא־tim.tza'-H4672noלֹ֧אlo'H3808favorחֵ֣ןchenH2580in his eyesבְּעֵינָ֗יוbe.'ei.NavH5869becauseכִּי־ki-H3588he has foundמָ֤צָאMa.tza'H4672someדָּבָ֔רda.VarH1697indecencyעֶרְוַ֣ת'er.VatH6172in her, thathe writesוְכָ֨תַבve.Kha.tavH3789her a certificateסֵ֤פֶרSe.ferH5612of divorceכְּרִיתֻת֙ke.ri.TutH3748,putsוְנָתַ֣ןve.na.TanH5414itin her handבְּיָדָ֔הּbe.ya.DahH3027, andsendsוְשִׁלְּחָ֖הּve.shi.le.ChahH7971her awayH7971from his houseמִבֵּיתֽוֹ׃mi.bei.ToH1004,

2and she leavesוְיָצְאָ֖הve.ya.tze.'AhH3318his houseמִבֵּית֑וֹmi.bei.ToH1004and goesוְהָלְכָ֖הve.ha.le.KhahH1980and becomesוְהָיְתָ֥הve.ha.ye.TahH1961anotherאַחֵֽר׃'a.CherH312man’sלְאִישׁ־le.'ish-H376wife,

3and the latterהָאַחֲרוֹן֒ha.'a.cha.rOnH314husbandהָאִ֣ישׁha.'IshH376turnsH8130againstH8130her, writesוְכָ֨תַבve.Kha.tavH3789her a certificateסֵ֤פֶרSe.ferH5612of divorceכְּרִיתֻת֙ke.ri.TutH3748and putsוְנָתַ֣ןve.na.TanH5414itin her handבְּיָדָ֔הּbe.ya.DahH3027, andsendsוְשִׁלְּחָ֖הּve.shi.le.ChahH7971her away from his houseמִבֵּית֑וֹmi.bei.ToH1004,orא֣וֹ'oH176ifכִ֤יkhiH3588the latterהָאַחֲר֔וֹןha.'a.cha.RonH314husbandהָאִ֣ישׁha.'IshH376whoאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834tookלְקָחָ֥הּle.ka.ChahH3947her to be his wifeלְאִשָּֽׁה׃le.'i.ShahH802diesיָמוּת֙ya.MutH4191,

4then herformerהָרִאשׁ֣וֹןha.ri.ShonH7223husbandבַּעְלָ֣הּba'.LahH1167whoאֲשֶֽׁר־'a.she.ro.Shi-H834sentH7971her awayשִׁ֠לְּחָהּShi.le.chahH7971is not allowedיוּכַ֣לyu.KhalH3201to takeלְקַחְתָּ֜הּle.kach.TahH3947her againלָשׁ֨וּבla.ShuvH7725to be his wifeלְאִשָּׁ֗הle.'i.ShahH802,afterאַחֲרֵי֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.cha.Rei 'a.SherH310 H834she has been defiledהֻטַּמָּ֔אָהhu.ta.Ma.'ahH2930;for that is an abominationתוֹעֵבָ֥הto.'e.VahH8441beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,and you shall not bringH2398sinתַחֲטִיא֙ta.cha.Ti'H2398on the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776whichאֲשֶׁר֙'a.SherH834the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430is givingנֹתֵ֥ןno.TenH5414you as an inheritanceנַחֲלָֽה׃ סna.cha.LahH5159.

5“Whenכִּֽי־ki-H3588a manאִישׁ֙'ishH376takesיִקַּ֥חyi.KachH3947a newחֲדָשָׁ֔הcha.da.ShahH2319wifeאִשָּׁ֣ה'i.ShahH802,he is not to goיֵצֵא֙ye.Tze'H3318outH3318with the armyבַּצָּבָ֔אba.tza.Va'H6635,norH3808be assignedיַעֲבֹ֥רya.'a.VorH5674anyלְכָל־le.kholH3605dutyדָּבָ֑רda.VarH1697;he shall be freeנָקִ֞יna.KiH5355at homeלְבֵיתוֹ֙le.vei.ToH1004for oneאֶחָ֔ת'e.ChatH259yearשָׁנָ֣הsha.NahH8141and shallmakeH8055his wifeאִשְׁתּ֥וֹ'ish.ToH802whomאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834he has takenלָקָֽח׃ סla.KachH3947happyH8055.
