7Nowוְעַתָּ֗הve.'a.TahH6258then, takeקְח֨וּke.ChuH3947andprepareוַעֲשׂ֜וּva.'a.SuH6213a newחֲדָשָׁה֙cha.da.ShahH2319cartעֲגָלָ֤ה'a.ga.LahH5699and twoוּשְׁתֵּ֤יu.she.TeiH8147milkעָל֔וֹתa.LotH5763cowsפָרוֹת֙fa.rOtH6510on whichאֲשֶׁ֛ר'a.SherH834therehas neverלֹא־lo'-H3808beenעָלָ֥ה'a.LahH5927a yokeעֹ֑ל'OlH5923;and hitchוַאֲסַרְתֶּ֤םva.'a.sar.TemH631the cowsהַפָּרוֹת֙ha.pa.rOtH6510to the cartבָּעֲגָלָ֔הba.'a.ga.LahH5699and takeH7725their calvesבְּנֵיהֶ֛םbe.nei.HemH1121backוַהֲשֵׁיבֹתֶ֧םva.ha.shei.vo.TemH7725homeהַבָּֽיְתָה׃ha.Ba.ye.tahH1004,awayמֵאַחֲרֵיהֶ֖םme.'a.cha.rei.HemH310from them.

8Then takeוּלְקַחְתֶּ֞םu.le.kach.TemH3947the arkאֲר֣וֹן'a.RonH727of the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068and placeוּנְתַתֶּ֤םu.ne.ta.TemH5414it on the cartהָ֣עֲגָלָ֔הha.'a.ga.LahH5699;and putתָּשִׂ֥ימוּta.Si.muH7760the articlesכְּלֵ֣יke.LeiH3627of goldהַזָּהָ֗בha.za.HavH2091whichאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834you returnהֲשֵׁבֹתֶ֥םha.she.vo.TemH7725to Him asa guiltאָשָׁ֔ם'a.ShamH817offeringH817in a saddlebagבָאַרְגַּ֖זva.'ar.GazH712by its sideמִצִּדּ֑וֹmi.tzi.DoH6654.Then sendוְשִׁלַּחְתֶּ֥םve.shi.lach.TemH7971it awayH7971that it may goוְהָלָֽךְ׃ve.ha.LakhH1980.

9But watchוּרְאִיתֶ֗םu.re.'i.TemH7200:ifאִם־'im-H518it goesיַֽעֲלֶה֙ya.'a.LehH5927upH5927by the wayדֶּ֨רֶךְDe.rekhH1870of its own territoryגְּבוּל֤וֹge.vu.LoH1366toBeth-shemeshH1053,then He has doneעָ֣שָׂה'A.sahH6213thisH2088greatהַגְּדוֹלָ֖הha.ge.do.LahH1419evilH7463to us. But ifוְאִם־ve.'im-H518not, thenwe will knowוְיָדַ֙עְנוּ֙ve.ya.Da'.nuH3045that it was not His handיָדוֹ֙ya.DoH3027that struckנָ֣גְעָהNa.ge.'ahH5060us; it happenedהָ֥יָהHa.yahH1961to us by chanceמִקְרֶ֥הmik.RehH4745.”

10Then the menH376didוַיַּעֲשׂ֤וּvai.ya.'a.SuH6213soכֵּ֔ןKenH3651:they tookוַיִּקְח֗וּvai.yik.ChuH3947twoשְׁתֵּ֤יshe.TeiH8147milkעָל֔וֹתa.LotH5763cowsפָרוֹת֙fa.rOtH6510and hitchedוַיַּאַסְר֖וּםvai.ya.'as.RumH631them to the cartבָּעֲגָלָ֑הba.'a.ga.LahH5699,and shutכָּל֥וּka.LuH3607in their calvesבְּנֵיהֶ֖םbe.nei.HemH1121at homeבַבָּֽיִת׃va.Ba.yitH1004.

11And they putוַיָּשִׂ֛מוּvai.ya.Si.muH7760the arkאֲר֥וֹן'a.RonH727of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068on the cartהָעֲגָלָ֑הha.'a.ga.LahH5699,and the saddlebagהָאַרְגַּ֗זha.'ar.GazH712with the goldהַזָּהָ֔בha.za.HavH2091miceעַכְבְּרֵ֣י'akh.be.ReiH5909and the likenessesצַלְמֵ֥יtzal.MeiH6754of their tumorsטְחֹרֵיהֶֽם׃te.cho.rei.HemH2914.

12Now the cowsהַפָּר֜וֹתha.pa.RotH6510wentH3474straightוַיִשַּׁ֨רְנָהva.yi.Shar.nahH3474in thedirectionH1870ofBeth-shemeshH1053;they wentהָלְכ֤וּha.le.KhuH1980onthe sameאַחַ֗ת'a.ChatH259roadבִּמְסִלָּ֣הbim.si.LahH4546,bellowingוְגָע֔וֹve.ga.'OH1600as they wentהָלֹךְ֙ha.loKhH1980,and did not turnסָ֖רוּSa.ruH5493offH5493to the rightיָמִ֣יןya.MinH3225or to the leftוּשְׂמֹ֑אולu.se.MolH8040.And the governorsוְסַרְנֵ֤יve.sar.NeiH5633of the Philistinesפְלִשְׁתִּים֙fe.lish.TimH6430followedהֹלְכִ֣ים אַחֲרֵיהֶ֔םho.le.Khim 'a.cha.rei.HemH1980 H310them to the borderגְּב֖וּלge.VulH1366of Beth-shemeshH1053.

13Now the people ofBeth-shemeshH1053were gatheringH7114inH7114their wheatחִטִּ֖יםchi.TimH2406harvestקְצִיר־ke.tzir-H7105in the valleyבָּעֵ֑מֶקba.'E.mekH6010,and they raisedוַיִּשְׂא֣וּvai.yis.'UH5375their eyesעֵינֵיהֶ֗ם'ei.nei.HemH5869and sawוַיִּרְאוּ֙vai.yir.'UH7200the arkהָ֣אָר֔וֹןha.'a.RonH727,and rejoicedוַֽיִּשְׂמְח֖וּvai.yis.me.ChuH8055at seeingלִרְאֽוֹת׃lir.'otH7200it.

14And the cartוְהָעֲגָלָ֡הve.ha.'a.ga.LahH5699cameבָּ֠אָהBa.'ahH935into the fieldשְׂדֵ֨הse.DehH7704of Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֤עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091the Beth-shemiteH1030and stoppedוַתַּעֲמֹ֣דva.ta.'a.ModH5975thereשָׁ֔םShamH8033where thereוְשָׁ֖םve.ShamH8033wasa largeגְּדוֹלָ֑הge.do.LahH1419stoneאֶ֣בֶן'E.venH68;and they splitוַֽיְבַקְּעוּ֙vay.va.ke.'UH1234the woodעֲצֵ֣י'a.TzeiH6086of the cartהָעֲגָלָ֔הha.'a.ga.LahH5699andofferedהֶעֱל֥וּhe.'e.LuH5927the cowsהַ֨פָּר֔וֹתha.pa.RotH6510as a burntעֹלָ֖ה'o.LahH5930offeringH5930to the Lordלַיהוָֽה׃ סla.Yah.wehH3068.

15Andthe Levitesוְהַלְוִיִּ֞םve.hal.vi.YimH3881tookH3381downH3381the arkאֲר֣וֹן'a.RonH727of the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068and the saddlebagהָאַרְגַּ֤זha.'ar.GazH712that was with it, in whichH834were the articlesכְלֵֽי־khe.lei-H3627of goldזָהָ֔בza.HavH2091,and putוַיָּשִׂ֖מוּvai.ya.Si.muH7760them on the largeהַגְּדוֹלָ֑הha.ge.do.LahH1419stoneהָאֶ֣בֶןha.'E.venH68;and the menH376of Beth-shemeshH1053offeredהֶעֱל֨וּhe.'e.LuH5927burntעֹל֜וֹתo.LotH5930offeringsH5930and sacrificedוַֽיִּזְבְּח֧וּvai.yiz.be.ChuH2076sacrificesזְבָחִ֛יםze.va.ChimH2077that dayבַּיּ֥וֹםbai.YomH3117to the Lordלַֽיהוָֽה׃la.Yah.wehH3068.
