19Then they gotH7925upH7925earlyוַיַּשְׁכִּ֣מוּvai.yash.Ki.muH7925in the morningבַבֹּ֗קֶרva.Bo.kerH1242and worshipedH2331beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,and returnedוַיָּשֻׁ֛בוּ וַיָּבֹ֥אוּvai.ya.Shu.vu vai.ya.Vo.'uH7725 H935againH7725to their houseבֵּיתָ֖םbei.TamH1004inRamahהָרָמָ֑תָהha.ra.Ma.tahH7414.And Elkanahאֶלְקָנָה֙'el.ka.NahH511hadH3045relationsH3045with Hannahחַנָּ֣הcha.NahH2584his wifeאִשְׁתּ֔וֹ'ish.ToH802, andthe Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068rememberedוַיִּֽזְכְּרֶ֖הָvai.yiz.ke.Re.haH2142her.

20It cameH1961aboutH1961in dueלִתְקֻפ֣וֹתlit.ku.FotH8622timeהַיָּמִ֔יםhai.ya.MimH3117,after Hannahחַנָּ֖הcha.NahH2584had conceivedוַתַּ֥הַרva.Ta.harH2029,that she gaveH3205birthH3205to a sonבֵּ֑ןBenH1121;and she namedוַתִּקְרָ֤א שְׁמוֹ֙va.tik.Ra' she.MoH7121 H8034him Samuelשְׁמוּאֵ֔לshe.mu.'ElH8050, saying, “Becauseכִּ֥יkiH3588I have askedשְׁאִלְתִּֽיו׃she.'il.TivH7592for him of the Lordמֵיְהוָ֖הme.Yah.wehH3068.”

21Then the manהָאִ֥ישׁha.'IshH376Elkanahאֶלְקָנָ֖ה'el.ka.NahH511wentH5927upH5927with allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605his householdבֵּית֑וֹbei.ToH1004to offerלִזְבֹּ֧חַliz.Bo.achH2076to the Lordלַֽיהוָ֛הla.Yah.wehH3068the yearlyהַיָּמִ֖יםhai.ya.MimH3117sacrificeזֶ֥בַחZe.vachH2077and to payhis vowנִדְרֽוֹ׃nid.RoH5088.

22But Hannahוְחַנָּ֖הve.cha.NahH2584did not goH5927upH5927,for she saidאָמְרָ֣ה'a.me.RahH559to her husbandלְאִישָׁ֗הּle.'i.ShahH376, “I will not gountilH5704the childהַנַּ֙עַר֙ha.Na.'arH5288is weanedיִגָּמֵ֤לyi.ga.MelH1580; then I willbringוַהֲבִאֹתִ֗יוva.ha.vi.'o.TivH935him, so that he may appearוְנִרְאָה֙ve.nir.'AhH7200beforeפְּנֵ֣יpe.NeiH6440the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068andstayוְיָ֥שַׁבve.Ya.shavH3427thereשָׁ֖םshamH8033for lifeעוֹלָֽם׃o.LamH5769.”

23Elkanahאֶלְקָנָ֨ה'el.ka.NahH511her husbandאִישָׁ֜הּ'i.ShahH376saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to her, “Doעֲשִׂ֧י'a.SiH6213whatH2896seems bestH2896to you. Stayשְׁבִי֙she.ViH3427untilעַד־'ad-H5704you have weanedגָּמְלֵ֣ךְga.me.LekhH1580him; onlyאַ֛ךְ'akhH389may the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068confirmיָקֵ֥םya.KemH6965His wordדְּבָר֑וֹde.va.RoH1697.”So the womanהָֽאִשָּׁה֙ha.'i.ShahH802stayedוַתֵּ֤שֶׁבva.Te.shevH3427and nursedוַתֵּ֣ינֶקva.Tei.nekH3243her sonבְּנָ֔הּbe.NahH1121untilעַד־'ad-H5704she weanedגָּמְלָ֖הּga.me.LahH1580him.

24Now whenH3512she had weanedגְּמָלַ֗תּוּge.ma.La.tuH1580him,she tookH5927him upH5927with her, with a three-year-oldשְׁלֹשָׁה֙she.lo.ShahH7969bullבְּפָרִ֤יםbe.fa.RimH6499,oneאַחַ֥ת'a.ChatH259ephahוְאֵיפָ֨הve.'ei.FahH374of flourקֶ֙מַח֙ke.machH7058,and a jugוְנֵ֣בֶלve.Ne.velH5035of wineיַ֔יִןYa.yinH3196,and broughtוַתְּבִאֵ֥הוּva.te.vi.'E.huH935him tothe houseבֵית־veit-H1004of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068in Shilohשִׁל֑וֹshi.LoH7887,although the childוְהַנַּ֖עַרve.ha.Na.'arH5288was youngנָֽעַר׃Na.'arH5288.

25Then theyslaughteredוַֽיִּשְׁחֲט֖וּvai.yish.cha.TuH7819the bullהַפָּ֑רha.ParH6499, andbroughtוַיָּבִ֥יאוּvai.ya.Vi.'uH935the boyהַנַּ֖עַרha.Na.'arH5288to Eliעֵלִֽי׃'e.LiH5941.

26And she saidוַתֹּ֙אמֶר֙va.To.merH559, “Pardonבִּ֣יbiH994me, my lordאֲדֹנִ֔י'a.do.NiH113!As your soulנַפְשְׁךָ֖naf.she.KhaH5315livesחֵ֥יcheiH2416,my lordאֲדֹנִ֑י'a.do.NiH113,I am the womanהָאִשָּׁ֗הha.'i.ShahH802who stoodהַנִּצֶּ֤בֶתha.ni.Tze.vetH5324hereבָּזֶ֔הba.ZehH2088besideעִמְּכָה֙'i.me.KhahH5973you, prayingלְהִתְפַּלֵּ֖לle.hit.pa.LelH6419to the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

27For thisהַזֶּ֖הha.ZehH2088boyהַנַּ֥עַרha.Na.'arH5288I prayedהִתְפַּלָּ֑לְתִּיhit.pa.Lal.tiH6419,and the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068has grantedוַיִּתֵּ֨ןvai.yi.TenH5414me my requestשְׁאֵ֣לָתִ֔יshe.'E.la.TiH7596whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834I askedשָׁאַ֖לְתִּיsha.'Al.tiH7592of Him.

28So I have alsoוְגַ֣םve.GamH1571dedicatedהִשְׁאִלְתִּ֙הוּ֙hish.'il.Ti.huH7592him to the Lordלַֽיהוָ֔הla.Yah.wehH3068;asH3605 H3117longH3605 H3117as he livesהָיָ֔הha.YahH1961he isdedicatedשָׁא֖וּלsha.'UlH7592to the Lordלַֽיהוָ֑הla.Yah.wehH3068.” Andhe worshipedH2331the Lordלַיהוָֽה׃ פla.Yah.wehH3068thereשָׁ֖םshamH8033.
