23When Jehudiיְהוּדִ֗יye.hu.DiH3065had readכִּקְר֣וֹאkik.Ro'H7121threeשָׁלֹ֣שׁsha.LoshH7969or fourוְאַרְבָּעָה֒ve.'ar.ba.'AhH702columnsדְּלָתוֹת֮de.la.tOtH1817, the kingcutיִֽקְרָעֶ֙הָ֙yik.ra.'E.haH7167it with a scribe’sH5613knifeבְּתַ֣עַרbe.Ta.'arH8593andthrewוְהַשְׁלֵ֕ךְve.hash.LekhH7993itinto the fireהָאֵ֖שׁha.'EshH784that was in the brazierהָאָ֑חha.'AchH254,untilעַד־'ad-H5704allכָּל־kol-H3605the scrollהַמְּגִלָּ֔הha.me.gi.LahH4039was consumedתֹּם֙tomH8552in the fireהָאֵ֖שׁha.'EshH784that was in the brazierהָאָֽח׃ha.'AchH254.

24Yet the kingהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605his servantsעֲבָדָ֔יו'a.va.DavH5650who heardהַשֹּׁ֣מְעִ֔יםha.Sho.me.'ImH8085allכָּל־kol-H3605theseהָאֵֽלֶּה׃ha.'E.lehH428wordsהַדְּבָרִ֖יםha.de.va.RimH1697werenot afraidפָחֲד֔וּfa.cha.DuH6342,norH3808did theyrendקָרְע֖וּka.re.'UH7167their garmentsבִּגְדֵיהֶ֑םbig.dei.HemH899.

25Even thoughוְגַם֩ve.GamH1571Elnathanאֶלְנָתָ֨ן'el.na.TanH494and Delaiahוּדְלָיָ֤הוּu.de.la.Ya.huH1806and Gemariahוּגְמַרְיָ֙הוּ֙u.ge.mar.Ya.huH1587pleadedהִפְגִּ֣עוּhif.Gi.'uH6293with the kingבַמֶּ֔לֶךְva.Me.lekhH4428not to burnשְׂרֹ֖ףse.RofH8313the scrollהַמְּגִלָּ֑הha.me.gi.LahH4039,he would not listenשָׁמַ֖עsha.Ma'H8085to them.
