Judges 3:1-6

And these are the nationsH1471 that Jehovah left, to prove IsraelH3478 by them, all that had not knownH3045 all the warsH4421 of CanaanH3667;

onlyH7535 that the generationsH1755 of the children of IsraelH3478 might knowH3045 warH4421 by learning it, at the least those who before had knownH3045 nothing thereof:

fiveH2568 lord ships of the PhilistinesH6430, and all the CanaanitesH3669, and the SidoniansH6722, and the Hivites that dwellH3427 on mount LebanonH3844; from mount Baal-HermonH1179 unto the entering into HamathH2574.

And they were to prove IsraelH3478 by them, to knowH3045 whether they would obey the commandmentsH4687 of Jehovah, which he commandedH6680 their fathersH1 by the handH3027 of MosesH4872.

And the children of IsraelH3478 dweltH3427 among the CanaanitesH3669: HittitesH2850 and AmoritesH567 and Perizzites and Hivites and Jebusites;

and they tookH3947 their daughtersH1323 as wivesH802, and gaveH5414 their daughtersH1323 to their sonsH1121, and servedH5647 their 1godsH430.
