Deuteronomy 16

(Exodus 12:14–28; Leviticus 23:4–8; Numbers 28:16–25)

1ObserveH8104 the monthH2320 of AbibH241 and celebrateH6213 the PassoverH6453 to the LORDH3068 your GodH430, becauseH3588 in the monthH2320 of AbibH24 the LORDH3068 your GodH430 brought you outH3318 of EgyptH4714 by nightH3915.

2You are to offerH2076 to the LORDH3068 your GodH430 the Passover sacrificeH6453 from the herdH1241 or flockH6629 in the placeH4725 the LORDH3068 will chooseH977 as a dwellingH7931 for His NameH8034H8033. 3You must notH3808 eatH398 leavened breadH2557 with itH5921; for sevenH7651 daysH3117 you are to eatH398 with itH5921 unleavened breadH4682, the breadH3899 of afflictionH6040, becauseH3588 you leftH3318 the landH776 of EgyptH4714 in hasteH2649—so thatH4616 you may rememberH2142 for the restH3605 of your lifeH2416 the dayH3117 you leftH3318 the landH776 of EgyptH4714.

4NoH3808 leavenH7603 is to be foundH7200 in allH3605 your landH1366 for sevenH7651 daysH3117, and noneH3808 ofH4480 the meatH1320 you sacrificeH2076 in the eveningH6153 of the firstH7223 dayH3117 shall remainH3885 until morningH1242.

5You are notH3808H3201 to sacrificeH2076 the Passover animalH6453 in anyH259 of the townsH8179 thatH834 the LORDH3068 your GodH430 is givingH5414 you. 6You must onlyH3588H518 offerH2076 the Passover sacrificeH6453 atH413 the placeH4725 the LORDH3068 your GodH430 will chooseH977 as a dwellingH7931 for His NameH8034H8033. Do this in the eveningH6153 as the sunH8121 setsH935, at the same timeH4150 you departedH3318 from EgyptH4714. 7And you shall roast itH1310 and eat itH398 in the placeH4725 the LORDH3068 your GodH430 will chooseH977, and in the morningH1242 you shall returnH1980 to your tentsH168.

8For sixH8337 daysH3117 you must eatH398 unleavened breadH4682, and on the seventhH7637 dayH3117 you shall hold a solemn assemblyH6116 to the LORDH3068 your GodH430, and you must notH3808 doH6213 any workH4399.

The Feast of Weeks

(Numbers 28:26–31)

9You are to count offH5608 sevenH7651 weeksH7620 from the time you first put the sickleH2770H2490 to the standing grainH7054H2490. 10And you shall celebrateH6213 the FeastH2282 of WeeksH76202 to the LORDH3068 your GodH430H4530 with a freewill offeringH5071H3027 thatH834 you giveH5414 in proportion to howH834 the LORDH3068 your GodH430 has blessed youH1288, 11and you shall rejoiceH8055 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 your GodH430 in the placeH4725 HeH3068H430 will chooseH977 as a dwellingH7931 for His NameH8034H8033—youH859, your sonsH1121 and daughtersH1323, your menservantsH5650 and maidservantsH519, and the LeviteH3881 within your gatesH8179, as well as the foreignerH1616, the fatherlessH3490, and the widowsH490 among youH7130.

12RememberH2142 thatH3588 you wereH1961 slavesH5650 in EgyptH4714, and carefullyH8104 followH6213 theseH428 statutesH2706.

The Feast of Tabernacles

(Numbers 29:12–40)

13You are to celebrateH6213 the FeastH2282 of TabernaclesH55213 for sevenH7651 daysH3117 after you have gatheredH622 the produce of your threshing floorH1637 and your winepressH3342. 14And you shall rejoiceH8055 in your feastH2282—youH859, your sonsH1121 and daughtersH1323, your menservantsH5650 and maidservantsH519, and the LeviteH3881, as well as the foreignerH1616, the fatherlessH3490, and the widowsH490 among youH8179.

15For sevenH7651 daysH3117 you shall celebrate a feastH2287 to the LORDH3068 your GodH430 in the placeH4725 HeH3068 will chooseH977, becauseH3588 the LORDH3068 your GodH430 will blessH1288 you in allH3605 your produceH8393 and in allH3605 the workH4639 of your handsH3027, so that your joyH8056 will beH1961 completeH389.

16ThreeH7969 timesH6471 a yearH8141 allH3605 your menH2138H854 are to appearH7200 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 your GodH430 in the placeH4725 He will chooseH977: at the FeastH2282 of Unleavened BreadH4682,4 the FeastH2282 of WeeksH7620,5 and the FeastH2282 of TabernaclesH5521.6 No oneH3808 should appearH7200H854 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 empty-handedH7387. 17EveryoneH376 must appear with a giftH4979 as he is ableH3027, according to the blessingH1293 the LORDH3068 your GodH430 has givenH5414 you.

18You are to appointH5414 judgesH8199 and officialsH7860 for your tribesH7626 in everyH3605 townH8179 thatH834 the LORDH3068 your GodH430 is givingH5414 you. They are to judgeH8199 the peopleH5971 with righteousH6664 judgmentH4941.

19Do notH3808 denyH5186 justiceH4941 or show partialityH5234H6440H3808. Do notH3808 acceptH3947 a bribeH7810, forH3588 a bribeH7810 blindsH5786 the eyesH5869 of the wiseH2450 and twistsH5557 the wordsH1697 of the righteousH6662.

20PursueH7291 justiceH6664, and justice aloneH6664, so thatH4616 you may liveH2421, and you may possessH3423 the landH776 thatH834 the LORDH3068 your GodH430 is givingH5414 you.
