28Neverthelessאֶ֚פֶס כִּֽי־'E.fes ki-H657H3588,the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971livingהַיֹּשֵׁ֖בhai.yo.ShevH3427in the landבָּאָ֑רֶץba.'A.retzH776are strongעַ֣ז'azH5794,and the citiesוְהֶֽעָרִ֗ים בְּצֻר֤וֹתve.he.'a.Rim be.tzu.RotH5892H1219are largeגְּדֹלֹת֙ge.do.LotH1419and fortifiedמְאֹ֔דme.'OdH3966.We evenוְגַם־ve.gam-H1571sawרָאִ֥ינוּra.'I.nuH7200the descendantsיְלִדֵ֥יye.li.DeiH3211of Anakהָֽעֲנָ֖קha.'a.NakH6061thereשָֽׁם׃ShamH8033.
29The Amalekitesעֲמָלֵ֥ק'a.ma.LekH6002liveיוֹשֵׁ֖בyo.ShevH3427in the landבְּאֶ֣רֶץbe.'E.retzH776of the Negevהַנֶּ֑גֶבha.Ne.gevH5045;the Hittitesוְ֠הַֽחִתִּיVe.ha.chi.tiH2850,Jebusitesוְהַיְבוּסִ֤יve.hay.vu.SiH2983,and Amoritesוְהָֽאֱמֹרִי֙ve.ha.'e.mo.RiH567liveיוֹשֵׁ֣בyo.ShevH3427in the hill countryבָּהָ֔רba.HarH2022;and the Canaanitesוְהַֽכְּנַעֲנִי֙ve.ha.ke.na.'a.NiH3669liveיֹשֵׁ֣בyo.ShevH3427byעַל־'al-H5921the seaהַיָּ֔םhai.YamH3220and alongוְעַ֖ל יַ֥דve.'Al yadH5921H3027the Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃hai.yar.DenH3383.”
30Then Calebכָּלֵ֛בka.LevH3612אֶת־'et-H853quietedוַיַּ֧הַסvai.Ya.hasH2013the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971beforeאֶל־'el-H413Mosesמֹשֶׁ֑הmo.ShehH4872and saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “We must go upH5927and take possession ofוְיָרַ֣שְׁנוּve.ya.Rash.nuH3423the landאֹתָ֔הּ'o.TahH853,forכִּֽי־ki-H3588we can certainly conquerH3201it!”
31But the menוְהָ֨אֲנָשִׁ֜יםve.Ha.'a.na.ShimH582whoאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834had gone upעָל֤וּ'a.LuH5927with himעִמּוֹ֙i.MoH5973repliedאָֽמְר֔וּ'a.me.RuH559, “We cannotלֹ֥א נוּכַ֖לlo' nu.KhalH3808H3201go upלַעֲל֣וֹתla.'a.LotH5927againstאֶל־'el-H413the peopleהָעָ֑םha.'AmH5971,forכִּֽי־ki-H3588theyה֖וּאhu'H1931are strongerחָזָ֥קcha.ZakH2389than we areמִמֶּֽנּוּ׃mi.Me.nuH4480!”

33We even sawרָאִ֗ינוּra.'I.nuH7200אֶת־'et-H853the Nephilimהַנְּפִילִ֛יםha.ne.fi.LimH5303thereוְשָׁ֣םve.ShamH8033—the descendantsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Anakעֲנָ֖ק'a.NakH6061that come fromמִן־min-H4480the Nephilimהַנְּפִלִ֑יםha.ne.fi.LimH5303!We seemedוַנְּהִ֤יva.ne.HiH1961like grasshoppersכַּֽחֲגָבִ֔יםka.cha.ga.VimH2284in our own sightבְעֵינֵ֙ינוּ֙ve.'ei.Nei.nuH5869,and we must have seemedהָיִ֖ינוּ בְּעֵינֵיהֶֽם׃ha.Yi.nu be.'ei.nei.HemH1961H5869the same to themוְכֵ֥ןve.KhenH3651!”
