8The Lordאֲדֹנָ֖י'a.do.NaiH136has sentשָׁלַ֥חsha.LachH7971a messageדָּבָ֛רda.VarH1697against Jacobבְּיַעֲקֹ֑בbe.ya.'a.KoH3290,and it has fallenוְנָפַ֖לve.na.FalH5307upon Israelבְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃be.Yis.ra.'ElH3478.

9Allכֻּלּ֔וֹku.LoH3605the peopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971will know itוְיָדְעוּ֙ve.ya.de.'UH3045—Ephraimאֶפְרַ֖יִם'ef.Ra.yimH669and the dwellersוְיוֹשֵׁ֣בve.yo.ShevH3427of Samariaשֹׁמְר֑וֹןsho.me.RonH8111.With prideבְּגַאֲוָ֛הbe.ga.'a.VahH1346and arroganceוּבְגֹ֥דֶלu.ve.Go.delH1433of heartלֵבָ֖בle.VavH3824they will sayלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559:

10“The bricksלְבֵנִ֥יםle.ve.NimH3843have fallenנָפָ֖לוּna.Fa.luH5307,but we will rebuildנִבְנֶ֑הniv.NehH1129with finished stoneוְגָזִ֣יתve.ga.ZitH1496;the sycamoresשִׁקְמִ֣יםshik.MimH8256have been felledגֻּדָּ֔עוּgu.Da.'uH1438,but we will replace themנַחֲלִֽיף׃na.cha.LifH2498with cedarsוַאֲרָזִ֖יםva.'a.ra.ZimH730.”

11The LORDיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068H853has raised upוַיְשַׂגֵּ֧בvay.sa.GevH7682the foesצָרֵ֥יtza.ReiH6862of Rezinרְצִ֖יןre.TzinH7526against himעָלָ֑יו'a.LavH5921H853and joinedיְסַכְסֵֽךְ׃ye.sakh.SekhH5526his enemies togetherאֹיְבָ֖יו'o.ye.VavH341.

14So the LORDיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068will cut offוַיַּכְרֵ֨תvai.yakh.RetH3772Israel’sמִיִּשְׂרָאֵ֗לmi.Yis.ra.'ElH3478headH7218and tailH2180, bothpalm branchכִּפָּ֥הki.PahH3712and reedוְאַגְמ֖וֹןve.'ag.MonH100in a singleאֶחָֽד׃'e.ChadH259dayי֥וֹםYomH3117.

15The headהָרֹ֑אשׁha.RoshH7218is the elderזָקֵ֥ןza.KenH2205and honorableוּנְשׂוּא־u.ne.su'-H5375פָנִ֖יםfa.NimH6440manה֣וּאhu'H1931,and the tailהַזָּנָֽב׃ha.za.NavH2180is the prophetוְנָבִ֥יאve.na.Vi'H5030ה֥וּאhu'H1931who teachesמֽוֹרֶה־mo.reh-H3384liesשֶּׁ֖קֶרShe.kerH8267.
