18Then the Assyrians called outוַיִּקְרְא֨וּvai.yik.re.'UH7121loudlyבְקוֹל־ גָּד֜וֹלve.kol- ga.DolH6963 H1419in Hebrewיְהוּדִ֗יתye.hu.DitH3066toעַל־'al-H5921the peopleעַ֤ם'amH5971of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ye.ru.sha.LimH3389whoאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834were onעַל־'al-H5921the wallהַֽחוֹמָ֔הha.cho.MahH2346,to frightenלְיָֽרְאָ֖םle.ya.re.'AmH3372and terrify themוּֽלְבַהֲלָ֑םu.le.va.ha.LamH926in orderלְמַ֖עַןle.Ma.'anH4616to captureיִלְכְּד֥וּyil.ke.DuH3920אֶת־'et-H853the cityהָעִֽיר׃ha.'IrH5892.

19They spokeוַֽיְדַבְּר֔וּvay.da.be.RuH1696againstאֶל־'el-H413the Godאֱלֹהֵ֖י'e.lo.HeiH430of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִָ֑םye.ru.sha.LimH3389as they had spoken againstכְּעַ֗לke.'AlH5921the godsאֱלֹהֵי֙'e.lo.HeiH430of the peoplesעַמֵּ֣י'a.MeiH5971of the earthהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776—the workמַעֲשֵׂ֖הma.'a.SehH4639of humanהָאָדָֽם׃ סha.'a.DamH120handsיְדֵ֥יye.DeiH3027.

21and the LORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֤חvai.yish.LachH7971an angelמַלְאָ֔ךְmal.'AkhH4397who annihilatedוַיַּכְחֵ֞דvai.yakh.ChedH3582everyכָּל־kol-H3605mighty manגִּבּ֥וֹרgi.BorH1368of valorחַ֙יִל֙cha.yilH2428and every leaderוְנָגִ֣ידve.na.GidH5057and commanderוְשָׂ֔רve.SarH8269in the campבְּמַחֲנֵ֖הbe.ma.cha.NehH4264of the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Assyriaאַשּׁ֑וּר'a.ShurH804.So he withdrewוַיָּשָׁב֩vai.ya.ShavH7725to his own landלְאַרְצ֗וֹle.'ar.TzoH776in disgraceבְּבֹ֨שֶׁת פָּנִ֜יםbe.Vo.shet pa.NimH1322 H6440.And when he enteredוַיָּבֹא֙vai.ya.Vo'H935the templeבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of his godאֱלֹהָ֔יו'e.lo.HavH430שָׁ֖םshamH8033וּמִֽיצִיאֵ֣יu.mi.tzi.'ovH3329,some of his ownמֵעָ֔יוme.'AvH4578sonsstruck him downהִפִּילֻ֥הוּhi.pi.Lu.huH5307with the swordבֶחָֽרֶב׃ve.Cha.revH2719.

22So the LORDיְהוָ֨הYah.wehH3068אֶת־'et-H853וְאֵ֣ת׀ve.'EtH853savedוַיּוֹשַׁע֩vai.yo.Sha'H3467Hezekiahיְחִזְקִיָּ֜הוּye.chiz.ki.Ya.huH2396and the peopleיֹשְׁבֵ֣יyo.she.VeiH3427of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֗םye.ru.sha.LimH3389from the handsמִיַּ֛דmi.YadH3027of Kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428Sennacheribסַנְחֵרִ֥יבsan.che.RivH5576of Assyriaאַשּׁ֖וּר'a.ShurH804andוּמִיַּד־u.mi.yad-H3027all othersכֹּ֑לKolH3605,and He gave them restוַֽיְנַהֲלֵ֖םvay.na.ha.LemH5095on every sideמִסָּבִֽיב׃mi.sa.VivH5439.

23Manyוְ֠רַבִּיםVe.ra.bimH7227broughtמְבִיאִ֨יםme.vi.'ImH935offeringsמִנְחָ֤הmin.ChahH4503to Jerusalemלִיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔םli.Ru.sha.LimH3389for the LORDלַיהוָה֙la.Yah.wehH3068and valuable giftsוּמִ֨גְדָּנ֔וֹתu.Mig.da.NotH4030for Hezekiahלִֽיחִזְקִיָּ֖הוּli.chiz.ki.Ya.huH2396king ofמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063,and fromמֵאַֽחֲרֵי־me.'a.cha.rei-H310then onכֵֽן׃ סKhenH3651he was exaltedוַיִּנַּשֵּׂ֛אvai.yin.na.Se'H5375in the eyesלְעֵינֵ֥יle.'ei.NeiH5869of allכָל־khol-H3605nationsהַגּוֹיִ֖םha.go.YimH1471.

24In thoseהָהֵ֔םha.HemH1992daysבַּיָּמִ֣יםbai.ya.MimH3117Hezekiahיְחִזְקִיָּ֖הוּye.chiz.ki.Ya.huH2396becameעַד־'ad-H5704mortallyלָמ֑וּתla.MutH4191illחָלָ֥הcha.LahH2470.So he prayedוַיִּתְפַּלֵּל֙vai.yit.pa.LelH6419toאֶל־'el-H413the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,who spokeוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to himand gaveנָ֥תַןNa.tanH5414hima signוּמוֹפֵ֖תu.mo.FetH4159.

25But becauseכִּ֥יkiH3588his heartלִבּ֑וֹli.BoH3820was proudגָבַ֖הּga.VahH1361,Hezekiahיְחִזְקִיָּ֔הוּye.chiz.ki.Ya.huH2396did notוְלֹא־ve.lo'-H3808repayהֵשִׁ֣יבhe.ShivH7725the favorכִגְמֻ֤לkhig.MulH1576shownto himעָלָיו֙'a.LavH5921.Therefore wrathקֶ֔צֶףKe.tzefH7110cameוַיְהִ֤יvay.HiH1961upon himעָלָיו֙'a.LavH5921and uponוְעַל־ve.'al-H5921Judahיְהוּדָ֖הye.hu.DahH3063and Jerusalemוִירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃vi.ru.sha.LimH3389.

26Then Hezekiahיְחִזְקִיָּ֙הוּ֙ye.chiz.ki.Ya.huH2396humbledוַיִּכָּנַ֤עvai.yi.ka.Na'H3665the prideבְּגֹ֣בַהּbe.GoahH1363of his heartלִבּ֔וֹli.BoH3820—heה֖וּאhu'H1931and the peopleוְיֹשְׁבֵ֣יve.yo.she.VeiH3427of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִָ֑םye.ru.sha.LimH3389—so that the wrathקֶ֣צֶףKe.tzefH7110of the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068did notוְלֹא־ve.lo'-H3808comeבָ֤אva'H935upon themעֲלֵיהֶם֙'a.lei.HemH5921during the daysבִּימֵ֖יbi.MeiH3117of Hezekiahיְחִזְקִיָּֽהוּ׃ye.chiz.ki.Ya.huH2396.

28He also made storehousesוּמִ֨סְכְּנ֔וֹתu.Mis.ke.NotH4543for the harvestלִתְבוּאַ֥תlit.vu.'AtH8393of grainדָּגָ֖ןda.GanH1715and new wineוְתִיר֣וֹשׁve.ti.Ro.oshH8492and oilוְיִצְהָ֑רve.yitz.HarH3323,stallsוְאֻֽרָוֹת֙ve.'u.ra.VotH723for all kindsלְכָל־le.kholH3605of livestockH929,and pensלָאֲוֵרֽוֹת׃la.'a.ve.RotH220for the flocksוַעֲדָרִ֖יםva.'a.da.RimH5739.

29He madeעָ֣שָׂה'A.sahH6213citiesוְעָרִים֙ve.'a.RimH5892for himself,and he acquired herdsוּמִקְנֵה־u.mik.neh-H4735of sheepצֹ֥אןtzonH6629and cattleוּבָקָ֖רu.va.KarH1241in abundanceלָרֹ֑בla.RoH7230,forכִּ֤יkiH3588Godאֱלֹהִ֔ים'E.lo.HimH430gaveנָֽתַן־na.tan-H5414himveryמְאֹֽד׃me.'OdH3966greatרַ֥בravH7227wealthרְכ֖וּשׁre.KhushH7399.
