Exodus 3

1Now MosesH4872 wasH1961 keeping the flockH6629 of JethroH3503 his father-in-law, the priestH3548 of MidianH4080: and he ledH5090 the flockH6629 to the back of the wildernessH4057, and cameH935 to the mountainH2022 of GodH430, unto HorebH2722. 2And the angelH4397 of Jehovah appearedH7200 unto him in a flame of fireH784 out of the midstH8432 of a bushH5572: and he lookedH7200, and, behold, the bushH5572 burnedH1197 with fireH784, and the bushH5572 was not consumedH398. 3And MosesH4872 saidH559, I will turnH5493 asideH5493 now, and seeH7200 this greatH1419 sightH4758, whyH4069 the bushH5572 is not burnt. 4And when Jehovah sawH7200 that he turnedH5493 asideH5493 to seeH7200, GodH430 calledH7121 unto him out of the midstH8432 of the bushH5572, and saidH559, MosesH4872, MosesH4872. And he saidH559, HereH2009 am I. 5And he saidH559, DrawH7126 not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feetH7272, for the placeH4725 whereon thou standest is holyH6944 groundH127. 6Moreover he saidH559, I am the GodH430 of thy fatherH1, the GodH430 of AbrahamH85, the GodH430 of IsaacH3327, and the GodH430 of JacobH3290. And MosesH4872 hidH5641 his faceH6440; for he was afraidH3372 to lookH5027 upon GodH430. 7And Jehovah saidH559, I have surely seenH7200 the affliction of my peopleH5971 that are in EgyptH4714, and have heardH8085 their cryH6818 by reason of their taskmastersH5065; for I knowH3045 their sorrows; 8and I am comeH5927 down to deliverH5337 them out of the handH3027 of the EgyptiansH4713, and to bringH5927 them up out of that landH776 unto a goodH2896 landH776 and a large, unto a landH776 flowingH2100 with milkH2461 and honeyH1706; unto the placeH4725 of the CanaaniteH3669, and the HittiteH2850, and the AmoriteH567, and the PerizziteH6522, and the HiviteH2340, and the JebusiteH2983. 9And nowH6258, behold, the cryH6818 of the children of IsraelH3478 is comeH935 unto me: moreover I have seenH7200 the oppressionH3906 wherewith the EgyptiansH4713 oppressH3905 them. 10ComeH3318 nowH6258 thereforeH6258, and I will sendH7971 thee unto PharaohH6547, that thou mayest bringH3318 forthH3318 my peopleH5971 the children of IsraelH3478 out of EgyptH4714. 11And MosesH4872 saidH559 unto GodH430, Who am I, that I should goH3318 unto PharaohH6547, and that I should bringH3318 forthH3318 the children of IsraelH3478 out of EgyptH4714? 12And he saidH559, Certainly I will beH1961 with thee; and this shall beH1961 the token unto thee, that I have sentH7971 thee: when thou hast broughtH3318 forthH3318 the peopleH5971 out of EgyptH4714, ye shall serveH5647 GodH430 upon this mountainH2022.

13And MosesH4872 saidH559 unto GodH430, Behold, when I comeH935 unto the children of IsraelH3478, and shall sayH559 unto them, The GodH430 of your fathersH1 hath sentH7971 me unto you; and they shall sayH559 to me, What is his nameH8034? What shall I sayH559 unto them? 14And GodH430 saidH559 unto MosesH4872, I AMH1961 THAT I AMH1961: and he saidH559, ThusH3541 shalt thou sayH559 unto the children of IsraelH3478, I AMH1961 hath sentH7971 me unto you. 15And GodH430 saidH559 moreover unto MosesH4872, ThusH3541 shalt thou sayH559 unto the children of IsraelH3478, Jehovah, the GodH430 of your fathersH1, the GodH430 of AbrahamH85, the GodH430 of IsaacH3327, and the GodH430 of JacobH3290, hath sentH7971 me unto you: this is my nameH8034 for everH5769, and this is my memorial unto all generationsH1755. 16Go, and gatherH622 the eldersH2205 of IsraelH3478 together, and sayH559 unto them, Jehovah, the GodH430 of your fathersH1, the GodH430 of AbrahamH85, of IsaacH3327, and of JacobH3290, hath appearedH7200 unto me, sayingH559, I have surely visitedH6485 you, and seenH7200 that which is done to you in EgyptH4714: 17and I have saidH559, I will bringH5927 you up out of the affliction of EgyptH4714 unto the landH776 of the CanaaniteH3669, and the HittiteH2850, and the AmoriteH567, and the PerizziteH6522, and the HiviteH2340, and the JebusiteH2983, unto a landH776 flowingH2100 with milkH2461 and honeyH1706. 18And they shall hearken to thy voiceH6963: and thou shalt comeH935, thou and the eldersH2205 of IsraelH3478, unto the kingH4428 of EgyptH4714, and ye shall sayH559 unto him, Jehovah, the GodH430 of the HebrewsH5680, hath metH7136 with us: and nowH6258 let us goH935, we pray thee, threeH7969 days’H3117 journeyH1870 into the wildernessH4057, that we may sacrificeH2076 to Jehovah our GodH430. 19And I knowH3045 that the kingH4428 of EgyptH4714 will not giveH5414 you leave to goH1980, no, not by a mightyH2389 handH3027. 20And I will put forthH7971 my handH3027, and smite EgyptH4713 with all my wondersH6381 which I will do in the midstH7130 thereof: and after that he will let you goH7971. 21And I will giveH5414 this peopleH5971 favorH2580 in the sight of the EgyptiansH4713: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go emptyH7387. 22But every womanH802 shall askH7592 of her neighborH7934, and of her that sojourneth in her houseH1004, jewels of silverH3701, and jewels of goldH2091, and raiment: and ye shall putH7760 them upon your sonsH1121, and upon your daughtersH1323; and ye shall despoil the EgyptiansH4713.
